Great family films are often passed down through generations and not only do the films themselves bring great memories but also the memorable characters. Coming together to watch a film as a family can be a great way to spend time with your loved ones. Prime Video would love to know what your family films are and why?

Here’s what Prime Video have to say: “The smash hit family film Paddington 2 has just been added to Prime Video, joining thousands of great movies and TV shows the whole family can enjoy. Paddington 2 sees the loveable bear settled into life with the Brown Family and starting to do some odd jobs so he can buy Aunt Lucie a birthday present. Before he can get it, the gift is stolen by a master thief and Paddington is the suspect.”

“To celebrate, we want to hear what classics you watch with your kids. Prime Video has many to enjoy including Yogi Bear, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Gruffalo, Casper, The Wizard of Oz, Nanny McPhee, E.T, Beethoven, Tom and Jerry, Pingu, Thomas and Friends, Scooby-Doo, Kung-Fu Panda and Shaun The Sheep.”

What do you enjoy watching with your whole family? Do you go for the classic such as ET and The Wizard of Oz or do you prefer the new films such as Kung Fu Panda? Or maybe your family has a staple film that you all watch on special occasions?

Whatever your favourite films are to watch as a family, share them on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw to win 1 of 3 Amazon Fire Kids Edition Tablets, made just for kids.

Thanks and good luck

We have 4 children aged 4- 11 so finding things everyone is happy to watch can be hard! Popular ones have been the Despicable me films, Trolls, and the Cars films.

TeddyIsaHe · 17/07/2018 07:50

Dd adores Moana. It was my secret weapon when she was small, because I could play the soundtrack whilst I had a shower and she would sit in her bouncer in the bathroom and be mesmerised. Sadly now she’s toddling nothing works! But it’s still a cracking film.

glenthebattleostrich · 17/07/2018 07:54

Any Disney film is always popular. Captain underpants is on almost constantly at the minute and we've just seen the Incredibles 2 at the cinema which DD already can't wait to come out on sky

Pixar and animated Disney films are usually the biggest hit all round, DC are just starting to get in to musicals too so I am excited about that as I love musicals and look forward to taking them to the theatre to watch some (they are already fans of the theatre but not seen any musicals)

Gone are the days when I could say things like The Aristocats or the Little mermaid. My older dc are teens now and the last movies we watched as a family were The Avengers, Deadpool and Black Panther.

Ds2 has only just turned 1 and I can’t wait until he’s a bit older so I get to watch films like megamind, the incredibles, and no doubt all the Thomas the Tank Engine movies with him!

My children are still quite young, they love watching anything feelgood like trolls or frozen.
They also love watching short films like ‘going on a bear hunt’ and ‘highway rat’.
My eldest watched the first Harry Potter and now is desperate to watch the others!

doublerainbows · 17/07/2018 17:32

Toy Story 1, 2 & 3
Incredibles 1 & 2 - even now as teenagers
Guardians of the Galaxy
Wall-E (younger DS was largely non-verbal at this point in time)
Shaun the Sheep was better as a series
The Wrong Trousers and the Were Rabbit, on the other hand, are awesome.
Polar Express - the hot chocolate scene is still talked about
A Monster in Paris
A town called Panic
Azur and Asmar
Pinocchio 3000
My Neighbour Totoro
Zathura
Night at the Museum 1
Aladdin
The Hunchback of Notredame
The Princess and the Frog
Finding Nemo
Pingu but only the originals, which are quite different.
Shrek - all because of Donkey
Wow - such lovely memories - thank you Smile

BoscosBosca · 17/07/2018 18:19

The only films to guarantee the whole family sit down together to watch time after time are Nanny McPhee, Muppets Christmas Carol and Ferris Buellers Day Off.

qate · 17/07/2018 18:37

Harry Potter, the Railway Children and The Santa Clause. DS is still a bit young at the moment so I think there'll be a few runs of Toy Story (probably most of Pixar's back catalogue actually!) before we get to those.
