Great family films are often passed down through generations and not only do the films themselves bring great memories but also the memorable characters. Coming together to watch a film as a family can be a great way to spend time with your loved ones. Prime Video would love to know what your family films are and why?

Here’s what Prime Video have to say: “The smash hit family film Paddington 2 has just been added to Prime Video, joining thousands of great movies and TV shows the whole family can enjoy. Paddington 2 sees the loveable bear settled into life with the Brown Family and starting to do some odd jobs so he can buy Aunt Lucie a birthday present. Before he can get it, the gift is stolen by a master thief and Paddington is the suspect.”

“To celebrate, we want to hear what classics you watch with your kids. Prime Video has many to enjoy including Yogi Bear, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Gruffalo, Casper, The Wizard of Oz, Nanny McPhee, E.T, Beethoven, Tom and Jerry, Pingu, Thomas and Friends, Scooby-Doo, Kung-Fu Panda and Shaun The Sheep.”

What do you enjoy watching with your whole family? Do you go for the classic such as ET and The Wizard of Oz or do you prefer the new films such as Kung Fu Panda? Or maybe your family has a staple film that you all watch on special occasions?

Whatever your favourite films are to watch as a family, share them on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw to win 1 of 3 Amazon Fire Kids Edition Tablets, made just for kids.

Thanks and good luck

Mine are still young but my 4 year old is currently obsessed with the film Spirit which is a surprisingly good watch!

We watch the usual Disney fare (her favourites being Tangled, Brave and Moana)

When they’re older I can’t wait to introduce them to the classics like
The Goonies.

It's got to be the original Land Before Time - the classic animation is beautiful and it's a real flashback to our childhood that DD loves (we pretend not to be excited about watching it "Land Before Time AGAIN DD? Really? When we're secretly overjoyed, but, if we let on we love it, I bet it'll soon drop off the favourites list). Also, My Neighbour Totoro. We alternate watching it in English and in Japanese with English subtitles (mostly because DD is not yet a fluent English speaker (she's 19 months) and, as much as I'd love her to pick up some Japanese, I'm sure we should nail the English first.
Finally, DD loves watching any of the old Disney classics with us - Jungle Book, Lion King, Snow White etc etc although, I'm pretty sure the bug draw of these for her is mummy's singing and dancing... 😂

WhatILoved · 16/07/2018 22:21

I love Pee Wee Herman. The machine that wakes him up and makes his breakfast is amazing. Our house could do with a modern, more efficient (no pancakes on the ceiling) be of those!

jinglebitch · 16/07/2018 23:14

PenguinsCantFly · 17/07/2018 03:16

Going to go a bit old skool...

White Fang

Flight of the Navigator

Indian in the Cupboard

PenguinsCantFly · 17/07/2018 03:25

Forgot my whys!

White Fang - because it gets me every time! I know that Ethan Hawke doesn't mean it when he sends White Fang away...but still makes me cry each time. It's a great story of good prevailing and it's got wolves in it so what's not to love!

Flight of the Navigator - because I love the idea of stepping out of time! It's also a great adventure story.

Indian in the Cupboard- because we all secretly know that our toys come to life when we aren't there and this film does it best! What makes this one special too is that it's hard to get hold of! Not available on DVD region 2 last time I checked! (Pretty please Amazon...add it to Prime!!)

allthingsred · 17/07/2018 06:41

We love family movie night.
Home alone is always a good one
Most disney films, but toy story never gets old.
Big,splash & labrynth are all some of our favourite too

DollyTots · 17/07/2018 07:06

My DD (2) is very into Elmo in grouchland at the moment.

As a family though, we've enjoyed dreamworks El Dorado the most. Good one liners for the adults and songs in general. We like Atlantis too for the same reason.
