Clothes shopping can be both a pleasure and chore, depending on where you’re shopping and who you’re shopping for! Especially if you’re looking for something nice for a fussy DC. Ted Baker would love you to share your favourite piece from their kidswear range, as well as letting us know which qualities you look for when selecting clothing for you and your DC.

Here’s what Ted Baker has to say: “Ted’s new kidswear collection is designed for little scamps of all ages, from bouncing babies to older boys and girls developing a passion for fashion. With a focus on bright, beautiful colours and stylish prints, B by Ted Baker will ensure your little one is the best dressed in the playground, with practical finishing touches for easier adventures (and machine washable fabrics for easier cleaning!). Whether it’s the perfect party look or something stylish for every day, Ted has thought of an outfit for every occasion.”

Which items caught your eye and why? Check the website and post a link to your faves on the thread below.

We would also love to know what you look for when out clothes shopping for yourself or your DC? Maybe your main concern is for durability and ensuring that those jeans last through numerous knee-slides? Perhaps it’s price? Or finding an outfit that fits perfectly? Do you have a seasonal colour scheme that you stick to religiously, or are you much more interested in comfort?

Tell us which qualities you look for in the ideal outfit, as well as posting a link to your favourite item from the Ted Baker kidswear range and you will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Ted Baker voucher. Ted Baker will also be giving 3 MNers the chance to win their favourite kidswear item!

Thanks and good luck!

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Baby-Boy/DORAR-Cotton-polo-and-dungarees-set-Navy/p/151916-NAVY. Loving the versatility of this fab outfit. My rambunctious boy needs something like this!

bridgetosomewhere · 19/05/2018 22:50

This is lovely - just the sort of dress I would pick for dd http://www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/CARRLEN-Skater-dress-Yellow/p/151848-YELLOW

She on the other hand would live in leggings and blue t shirts as she loves blue!

When shopping for her I like to find things that will wash well, durable enough for rolling around the garden and not too pale as she’s a bit of a tomboy.
I also don’t like items which mix white and colours as I can’t wash them without the white bits getting grey!

When shopping for ds I have to buy things with adjustable waists as he is a skinny malinky. I like slim fit trousers for him and thick denim jeans otherwise he puts the knees through in weeks!

Loving this little romper www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Baby-Boy/TUMBAL-Cotton-romper-Orange/p/151919-ORANGE

Treaclespongeandcustard · 19/05/2018 23:38

I love this dress and my DD would love it too. She would love to wear party dresses everyday if she could. www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/MARIZTA-Bow-detail-dress-Fuchsia/p/151845-FUCHSIA

buckley1983 · 19/05/2018 23:43

My little lad would be chuffed to bits with this lolly print top & shorts. So cute!

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/BOBBUIL-Cotton-ice-lolly-T-shirt-and-shorts-set-Assorted/p/151988-ASSORTED

He loves bright colours & bold patterns & I'm always on the lookout for good quality clothing that will last him until he's onto the next size & I can then hand it on to my nephew! :) I know that it will be good quality with TB.

I'm happy to pay more for clothing as long as I know it's well made, good quality fabric & durable.
It has to be easy wash/no special washing instructions too!!

biscuitaddict · 20/05/2018 06:12

My favourite is this t-shirt and shorts combo. It looks stylish as well as age appropriate. I like how it's colourful and screams summer.

I love this jumpsuit. My DD is 8 and so wants something trendy like this now. This for me is a perfect balance of fashion, great quality and prettiness. I love the fact that she will be able to play or dance about with the shorts too. These are all things that I look for in special occasion clothes like this.

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 20/05/2018 12:37

I love ted bakers prints. They are always so pretty and colourful
This dress would be perfect for a christening and garden party that we are going to next month

I love this little skater dress for my 2 year old: www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/MIRINIA-Printed-cut-out-skater-dress-Pink/p/151844-PINK

Since Ted Baker is a higher price point, I would be looking to buy something particularly lovely, which for me would mean a coat or a dress. I am willing to spend more on coats and jackets in general, as they are worn regularly, so I want something attractive and durable.

StickChildNumberTwo · 20/05/2018 15:13

I've surprised myself by being very taken by this: www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/CEYLAN-Printed-cotton-maxi-dress-Fuchsia/p/152149-FUCHSIA I don't do pink, but it's lovely and bright and cheery.

In general I'm after not too expensive and stuff that will wear and wash well. If it can be ethically produced even better (although I realise the price then reflects that) - I find it a challenge to work out where different companies lie on the ethics of their supply chain etc.

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/TANKTOM-Printed-cotton-chinos-with-matching-belt-Blue/p/151935-BLUE

These would look fab on my little boy! Perfect for the summer, super versatile too.

I look for good quality with style - it has to look good but also wash & wear well.

danigrace · 20/05/2018 16:10

Love the bright colours and fun design of this romper www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Baby-Boy/TUMBAL-Cotton-romper-Orange/p/151919-ORANGE

I like choosing bright and colourful outfits for both my little one and myself

Love this for 3 year old dd. Also this for 11 year old dd.
www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/CHANAE-Cold-shoulder-playsuit-White/p/151858-WHITE

Really love all the prints Ted Baker use for their kids clothes and it’s my go to brand for gorgeous occasion wear. Always get so many compliments whenever my dds wear Ted Baker clothing.

TheWizardofWas · 20/05/2018 18:21

We love bold shirts. This one fits the bill for DS 10.
www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/MINYMUS-Tropical-leaf-cotton-shirt-White/p/151950-WHITE

Our main thing when shopping is for brightly coloured ethically made things, a little big, so they last longer.

Oldraver · 20/05/2018 18:37

DS is 12 and I have been buying the boys polo shirts since he was a toddler. They always look smart and wash well, he's currently got about five in his wardrobe.

The colours in this block stripe polo are just the ones thta he suits.

RhubarbAndCustards · 20/05/2018 20:54

I love the bright florals like this dress for my DD. www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/CARRLEN-Skater-dress-Yellow/p/151848-YELLOW

When shopping I look at price and style. For DD it’s all about what she likes! Nothing too fussy but she certainly has her own tastes.

Cd89 · 20/05/2018 21:20

I look for versatile outfits that can be mix and matched. Easy to wear and swap pieces depending on spillages!

I love this Calyse outfit, and I would consider buying it with the Milly outfit too to create more outfits. This is perfect for dinner while were on holiday!

Mammatron · 20/05/2018 22:17

My child is a muck magnet, he cannot go more than 20 minutes without getting food/ mud/ some other horribly staining substance on him. When buying clothes I look for stylish designs that will wash well and be comfortable. If he’s going to have a white top then it needs to be all white instead of patterned so I can at least try and bleach the stains out! Love this, looks comfy for playing in but quite smart for joggers and hoodie www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/PIPPN-Cotton-hoodie-and-joggers-set-Navy/p/151934-NAVY

lovemyflipflops · 21/05/2018 07:56

I love this www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/PIPPN-Cotton-hoodie-and-joggers-set-Navy/p/151934-NAVY, its smart, a very trendy design, and the skinny joggers look easy to take on and off so great for independence. The zipped pockets are a lovely idea for keeping pocket money safe, Lovely colour too.

MargoLovebutter · 21/05/2018 09:56

Love this because it is so pretty: www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Baby-Girl/LALLIE-Cotton-top-and-shorts-set-Pink/p/151860-PINK

We would also love to know what you look for when out clothes shopping for yourself or your DC?

I look for natural fabrics, like cotton or wool that can be washed easily. Unless it is a very special occasion, I am going to be wanting a good price too, as kids grow out of clothes so quickly. I don't do seasonal colours, but I like the kids clothes to combine well together, so that you haven't got a whole load of stand alone items that don't go with other things.

Sammyislost · 21/05/2018 10:44

I really like my boys clothes to be durable, and to know that they will last through both children wearing them. I prefer milder colours for summer, pastels are always nice. It's always nice to be able to have clothes that will go from day to night easily.

I love this shirt www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/HERCUYS-Textured-stripe-spotted-cotton-shirt-Turquoise/p/151952-TURQUOISE

And these chinos www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/HPOTTA-Belted-cotton-chino-shorts-Light-Pink/p/151942-LT-PINK

Has to be this fun, casual yet smart shirt from Ted Baker which combines great colours with enviable style! :) a perfect Summer piece. I always seek cool, skin friendly and comfortable clothing and certainly don't stick to one colour scheme. Durability and price certainly come into the equation too. :)

RSmith89 · 21/05/2018 15:09

I love a romper on my little boy I always think he looks just adorable and comfy so my favourite is the shunshi romper, the colours are nice and summery.

I go for durable fabrics
