Clothes shopping can be both a pleasure and chore, depending on where you’re shopping and who you’re shopping for! Especially if you’re looking for something nice for a fussy DC. Ted Baker would love you to share your favourite piece from their kidswear range, as well as letting us know which qualities you look for when selecting clothing for you and your DC.

Here’s what Ted Baker has to say: “Ted’s new kidswear collection is designed for little scamps of all ages, from bouncing babies to older boys and girls developing a passion for fashion. With a focus on bright, beautiful colours and stylish prints, B by Ted Baker will ensure your little one is the best dressed in the playground, with practical finishing touches for easier adventures (and machine washable fabrics for easier cleaning!). Whether it’s the perfect party look or something stylish for every day, Ted has thought of an outfit for every occasion.”

Which items caught your eye and why? Check the website and post a link to your faves on the thread below.

We would also love to know what you look for when out clothes shopping for yourself or your DC? Maybe your main concern is for durability and ensuring that those jeans last through numerous knee-slides? Perhaps it’s price? Or finding an outfit that fits perfectly? Do you have a seasonal colour scheme that you stick to religiously, or are you much more interested in comfort?

Tell us which qualities you look for in the ideal outfit, as well as posting a link to your favourite item from the Ted Baker kidswear range and you will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Ted Baker voucher. Ted Baker will also be giving 3 MNers the chance to win their favourite kidswear item!

Thanks and good luck!

Ooh, I actually really like all of them! This would be nice and bright for a holiday

And I also really like this dress
www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/MALINDY-Cotton-ruffle-dress-and-headband-set-White/p/151846-WHITE

My dd 16 months would look gorgeous in either!

Would love this for my little boy (3 months) as rompers are my favourite! When shopping for him, I tend to watch the pennies as he's growing out of everything so quickly as he's already in 6-9month clothing. I also look at ease of getting it on. He hates having stuff over his head so I tend to look for poppers down the front or a larger neck!

So in love with this! I adore my children in yellow - super bright and summery

LRL2017 · 23/05/2018 21:43

I love this:

We have received ted baker clothing as presents for our little girl. The fit of the clothes is good (one coat lasted us nearly 6 months) and the quality is fantastic. I always look for good quality clothing that I know will wash well and last. We purchase a mixture of branded clothing and cheaper alternatives. I have always loved ted baker for little girls.

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Baby-Boy/MRMAKE-Cotton-polo-romper-Turquoise/p/151921-TURQUOISE

This is lovely! I want things for my 10month old to be soft, not too gendered, and easy to put on and off! One pieces are the best like this little romper :)

TheMumInsider · 23/05/2018 23:23

My 9 week old would look incredible in the www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Baby-Boy/DORAR-Cotton-polo-and-dungarees-set-Navy/p/151916-NAVY for a summer wedding coming up this July ☺️🤞🏻👰🏻🎩

WhyDoesItAlways · 24/05/2018 08:55

Love this shirt. DS can really pull off orange.

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/SESMEST-Cotton-polo-shirt-Orange/p/151923-ORANGE

My DS is only 1 and currently grows out of clothes fairly quickly so I probably choose style over quality as they don't have to last long. I'm sure that'll change as he gets more active though!

Didiusfalco · 24/05/2018 12:57

I love this:

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/CALYSE-Cotton-frill-top-and-leggings-set-Yellow/p/151867-YELLOW

It looks comfortable and has a lovely design. When I’m buying children’s clothing I want it to be reasonably well made and in a decent fabric, but it doesn’t have to last forever as they grow before it wears out. I don’t like logos or things that are obviously branded but the dc like it to have a bit of a pattern. The floral designs of these children’s clothes are really nice.

CathBookworm · 24/05/2018 14:08

When looking for clothes for my boys I look at items that are easy to care for , need little ironing and look comfortable and eye catching. This shirt from Ted Baker caught my eye www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/MINYMUS-Tropical-leaf-cotton-shirt-White/p/151950-WHITE

Bez33 · 24/05/2018 15:26

I like this as a smart summer jacket for my son:
www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/NARNYA-Cotton-bomber-jacket-Navy/p/151955-NAVY

And this as a sunny day outfit for my daughter - love the matching hat!
www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Baby/MATELDA-Cotton-romper-and-hat-set-White/p/151873-WHITE

I like nice quality, organic cotton-y things. And things that won’t just wear out easily, through either wearing or washing. I like nice patterns, nothing too obviously frilly and girly for my daughter and things that aren’t limited to plainer colours for my son.

Wargghhhh · 24/05/2018 17:54

I would go for the CHARETA One-shoulder jumpsuit for my 10 year old - such a cool jumpsuit that frankly I could imagine myself wearing! She's at an age now where fashion is important, and when I spend a little more money on outfits, I want them to be eye catching and different as well as being of the highest quality.

userinfinity · 24/05/2018 18:01

For my 5 month old son, if I had to choose one, it would be

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/TWENAY-Cotton-tee-and-shorts-set-Navy/p/151917-NAVY

It’s practical and colourful, and got a fun print. The up close pictures show the attention to detail and the fabrics look perfect for the summer weather.

When looking to buy kids clothes, I tend to look for colourful items/clothes with prints etc. I want the kids to enjoy wearing their clothes. I don’t like paying a lot for their clothes as they grow out of them so quickly and so I am usually found hanging around the sale/clearance racks looking for a bargain

This is so glam! My little girl is 2.5 but so tall that I’m buying age 4 clothes

Ratbagcatbag · 24/05/2018 20:12

I utterly love this dress and my 5 year old loves bright, bold colours.

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/CEYLAN-Printed-cotton-maxi-dress-Fuchsia/p/152149-FUCHSIA

She has a couple of stunning Ted baker dresses for parties that always get commented on.

Both of us love practical clothes that wash well. I'm happy to spend more money if I know they will last. However she does still get covered in paint/pen/mud on a regular basis so comfortable leggings/shorts teamed with nice tops work well for her too.

Cotswoldmama · 24/05/2018 20:17

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/MINYMUS-Tropical-leaf-cotton-shirt-White/p/151950-WHITE Love this shirt. I didn’t know ted baker made clothes for kids. I’m impressed, they’re stylish but also classic. The chino shorts also look great. It all looks practical and hard wearing.

xcxcsophiexcxc · 24/05/2018 20:49

I'm loving this vibrant romper

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Baby-Boy/MRMAKE-Cotton-polo-romper-Turquoise/p/151921-TURQUOISE

I love the funky pattern and bold colours in this amazing romper! Also the fact its made of cotton and so will be cool in tgr heat is a bonus.

When I shop for my child's clothes I look for comfort and practicality as well as bright colours and fun childish styles, I like her to be able to dress as a child and not a 'little woman'. I'm also super keen on materials being fair trade or ethically sourced. From a premium brand like Ted Baker I especially expect high ethical standards, and to have info about these very visible and accessible.

I love the colours and prints in the current collection but have to say the amount of white in the girls clothing puts me off a bit, If I'm spending out on something I like yo feel that it would stay nice and last..my little mischief would destroy the white leggings in seconds.

More unisex clothing would be great too

Penjin · 25/05/2018 05:51

My eldest daughter aged 7 is a classic girly girl and loves floral prints. This gorgeous jumpsuit would be a fab alternative to a dress and is perfect when we go on holiday to the French Riviera. www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Older-Girls/CHARETA-One-shoulder-jumpsuit-Navy/p/151859-NAVY

And love this shorts and top set for my youngest daughter - practical but pretty for a very energetic 3 year old! www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/MILIY-Cotton-top-and-frilled-shorts-set-Pink/p/152145-PINK

NoFucksImAQueen · 25/05/2018 10:08

for ds1 (6) I like these chinos. they are smart yet casual, would go with everything and are a bit different from the usual jeans. ds2 (3) suits red so it would have to be these red shorts. amazing colour. for dd (2) it would be this playsuit because it's gorgeous!
I like kids clothes that are smart, no characters but practical for the kids so comfortable and hard wearing.

NoFucksImAQueen · 25/05/2018 10:10

only forgot to attach the photos didn't I 😁

I do love red baker clothes, I had this little swimsuit for dd2 when she was 2 and we both loved it so much, it must have been good if we still both remember it four years later! I've now passed it to my niece 😊

I think this is a really nice print
www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/BOBBUIL-Cotton-ice-lolly-T-shirt-and-shorts-set-Assorted/p/151988-ASSORTED

Demiguise · 26/05/2018 08:27

DD2 loves yellow and I like floral patterns, so this would definitely be a hit for us both!

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/CALYSE-Cotton-frill-top-and-leggings-set-Yellow/p/151867-YELLOW

For me it's finding a trade-off between price and quality. I don't want to pay for something that won't last, and as I often Ebay the girls' clothes once they've outgrown them, I don't mind paying a little bit more for something that washes wear and holds its value. Ted Baker clothes are always popular, and I do love the vibrant colours in the kids range!
