Clothes shopping can be both a pleasure and chore, depending on where you’re shopping and who you’re shopping for! Especially if you’re looking for something nice for a fussy DC. Ted Baker would love you to share your favourite piece from their kidswear range, as well as letting us know which qualities you look for when selecting clothing for you and your DC.

Here’s what Ted Baker has to say: “Ted’s new kidswear collection is designed for little scamps of all ages, from bouncing babies to older boys and girls developing a passion for fashion. With a focus on bright, beautiful colours and stylish prints, B by Ted Baker will ensure your little one is the best dressed in the playground, with practical finishing touches for easier adventures (and machine washable fabrics for easier cleaning!). Whether it’s the perfect party look or something stylish for every day, Ted has thought of an outfit for every occasion.”

Which items caught your eye and why? Check the website and post a link to your faves on the thread below.

We would also love to know what you look for when out clothes shopping for yourself or your DC? Maybe your main concern is for durability and ensuring that those jeans last through numerous knee-slides? Perhaps it’s price? Or finding an outfit that fits perfectly? Do you have a seasonal colour scheme that you stick to religiously, or are you much more interested in comfort?

Tell us which qualities you look for in the ideal outfit, as well as posting a link to your favourite item from the Ted Baker kidswear range and you will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Ted Baker voucher. Ted Baker will also be giving 3 MNers the chance to win their favourite kidswear item!

Thanks and good luck!

I love this for my youngest. So pretty!

We have bought Ted Baker stuff previously - mainly for party/occasion wear as it's far too expensive for daily wearing. The quality has always been fantastic though.

FurryTurnipHead · 18/05/2018 17:56

I love this set of shorts of t shirt. Bright, quirky pattern and original.

We had a few Ted Baker things when my son was little, good quality, and great resale value of I sold them online!

Love this dress for my daughter. Looks really classic and really nice for summer. I love the ted baker floral print and She owns several items like this.

WowOoo · 18/05/2018 19:45

I'd like these for Ds. We have a wedding coming up and these would be smart enough with his shirt.

Crumble67 · 18/05/2018 20:17

I love these www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/GOOFIE-Stretch-cotton-denim-shorts-Dark-Blue/p/151949-DK-BLUE shorts. They look like they could be dressed up or down and excellent quality. When I buy clothes for my DS I always look for some good quality staples, jeans shorts that are going to last as he is super active and then some quirky tops and hoodies that will mix and match and that he chooses. My DD would love the www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Older-Girls/CHARETA-One-shoulder-jumpsuit-Navy/p/151859-NAVY it is bright colourful and fun with the added bonus of being feminine but trousers (she doesn't do dresses!)

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/MIRINIA-Printed-cut-out-skater-dress-Pink/p/151844-PINK

I love this dress, it can be dressed up for a formal occasion sigh a nice cardy and sparkly sandals but also could be worn casually with some sneakers.

The main things I look for in an outfit is quality and comfort of the materials. eg material isn't scratchy.

1969angep · 18/05/2018 21:45

I love the look of this Bomber Jacket! www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/NARNYA-Cotton-bomber-jacket-Navy/p/151955-NAVY
As my boy isn't a slim jim I look for comfort more than anything. A bit of an elasticated waist is great and longer line T-Shirts top my wish list!

This is beautiful, lovely print and a little bit different.
I look for good quality, price, washable and something a bit different. Clothes that can adjust are helpful. I had some beautiful Monsoon dungarees that had adjustable straps so they grew with your child. Also some M&S trousers that had a hem that could be let down for a bit more length. It's extras like that I look for.

MakeTeaNotWar · 19/05/2018 07:49

What lovely clothes!

DD is 7 1/2 now so likes to play at being grown up and sophisticated. She loves this www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Older-Girls/CHARETA-One-shoulder-jumpsuit-Navy/p/151859-NAVY

5 year old DS loves football and climbing trees, these look great www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/HATCAT-Belted-cotton-chino-shorts-Red/p/151936-RED

purplepandas · 19/05/2018 07:57

Either of my DDs would look good in this skater dress Really like the bright colours.

PeterIanStaker · 19/05/2018 08:05

There's not much choice for older boys (but that's true in most shops). This is the most cheerful item there:
www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/MADHATE-Block-stripe-cotton-polo-shirt-Assorted/p/152107-ASSORTED

I look at the Ted Baker stuff for kids in Debenhams because they do often have some interesting colours for boys, so I'm wondering if this is a separate range or the same...?

vickyors · 19/05/2018 08:08

This Mirinia, www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/MIRINIA-Printed-cut-out-skater-dress-Pink/p/151844-PINK
I love this, and I could get it for both my girls...!

hannahbjm · 19/05/2018 08:09

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/CALANTI-Cotton-dress-and-headband-set-Yellow/p/152153-YELLOW This dress is absolutely lovely.

When out shopping i look for clothes that wash well, i do tend to stick more to patterns and not something all white as they just get destoyed so quickly! I don't like clothes that are too old looking especially for girls with belly showing or off the shoulder tops

vickyors · 19/05/2018 08:09

Ah! Pressed too soon. And I like wash-ability, and whether it still hangs nicely after a few wears. My girls love dressing up- but often! So our lovely dresses etc get a lot of wear. Also, I like bold prints and colours.

TheNoseyProject · 19/05/2018 09:06

This is my fave! I have a few ted baker kids bits and they are lovely quality. But they are really occasion wear.

My issue with ted baker kids wear is despite the narrative (“little scamps of all ages” etc) the boys stuff is practical and the girls isn’t. A cold shoulder dress for a 3 year old etc? The girls clothes are of a type that you have to keep nice, the boys aren’t.

I hadn’t noticed so strongly before as normally they’re mixed in with everything else in debenhams but the website is pretty stark.

So unless you have money to burn and don’t mind kids trashing fancy dresses it’s occasion wear only.

I love this outfit for my little boy, it’s perfect for the hot weather.

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/BOBBUIL-Cotton-ice-lolly-T-shirt-and-shorts-set-Assorted/p/151988-ASSORTED

We’ve found out that we have to buy trousers and shorts with adjustable waists otherwise they fall down!

Shiftymake · 19/05/2018 10:17

I picked out 5 items that would be of interest and judging my sons response www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/LADIN-Stretch-cotton-jeans-Dark-Blue/p/151953-DK-BLUE is the winner and I do agree with him that these jeans look real nice and it seems they are durable. Can use them for casual and party so that is a huge bonus! The price isn't too scary but I admit that considering my sons growing rate, the fact he would not get that much use out of them I would rather look for cheaper items. When he gets older I would most certainly look at items like this a be expecting to pay this and more as the clothes will be used more and need to last longer.

BaconCrispsGone · 19/05/2018 12:17

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/MALINDY-Cotton-ruffle-dress-and-headband-set-White/p/151846-WHITE a bit pink but a nice summery print.
I look for not overly gendered, comfortable, no characters, no slogans, no mini adult, colourful

Jaderice21 · 19/05/2018 13:31

for my3 year old daughter this 2 piece caught my eye great bold coulour and print great for the summer www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/CASPARA-Cotton-top-and-leggings-set-Yellow/p/151868-YELLOW

kateandme · 19/05/2018 16:11

i love items she looks and feels good in.and you can tell as soon as she or I see it and when she puts it on.it.just.fits. in every sense.
it has GOT to be comfortable.
so I always think of when she might lie sit for long times in it to think ahead to whether its ok or not.so nothing majorly fitted or no seems in all the crevices or horrible hard lines.
I do not ever look for "fashion" pieces for her but do know when she will look brill in items.or cuuute.
peronsally id love a new section of adult clothes called.we can wear kids style too haha.as I find myself looking through the children isle and wishing those items would be in my size!!
I want her to be a kid for as long as possible so there is no emphasis on the latest trend.nor shall I pick anything too "adult" or inapropirate.
some of ted bakers lines you can tell are just pushing the lines of ault clothes in kid sizes and this can go too far.
I love the floral desings
the cotton top and blue leggings set.

Racecardriver · 19/05/2018 19:34

When buying clothes my priority is good quality natural fabrics and a good cut.

I love this t-shirt. It is smart but very stylish and eye catching and fun enough to get my DS4 excited about wearing it. Most importantly it is 100% cotton (DS has sensitive skin and will flare up his eczema of he gets sweaty so cotton is a must in summer) www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/MADHATE-Block-stripe-cotton-polo-shirt-Assorted/p/152107-ASSORTED

I think it would go great with these shorts which are also 100% cotton and have c lots of cool little features like patterned fabric on the seams that is revealed when the end are turned up that my son always notices and finds super exciting: www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/HPOTTA-Belted-cotton-chino-shorts-Light-Pink/p/151942-LT-PINK

His birthday is coming up so I think I may but these four his birthday outfit weather permitting. Love it!

IndianaMoleWoman · 19/05/2018 19:44

I love an all-in-one piece for my girls because I don’t have to find and match up the items after washing. Plus I’m a little jealous that my kids can pull off the play suit look way better than me!

So this is my favourite from the collection www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/MANCIE-Frilled-trim-playsuit-Pink/p/151857-PINK

This jumpsuit is gorgeous. I'd wear it myself if I could.
