This activity is now closed

With the new Peter Rabbit movie hopping into cinemas March 16, Sony Pictures and Mumsnet have teamed up to hide Peter Rabbit and his friends across the Mumsnet site for you to try and find. Follow the clues below and if you stumble across Peter Rabbit, post the URL of the page you found him on this page here and you will be entered into a prize draw to win a £500 Pets at Home voucher, plus a £250 Love2Shop voucher. Three runners up will also receive goody bags.

Clues:
1. It’s all go go go on this part of Talk – find the latest conversations and threads you can stalk
2. YABU or YANBU is the answer over here – it’s the part of Mumsnet that some people fear
3. Whether you like comedy or drama, we’ve got a movie – find the homepage and everything’s groovy
4. Talking about films is the key, and if you look closely there’s a clue to see
5. Whether you've got green fingers, or your plants keep dying – check this part of talk and you'll be flying
6. Find children's book recommendations here, so when bedtime comes you're in the clear

We are also offering you the chance to win an extra £300 voucher of your choice (from a list) by sharing with us the made up lives and/or personalities you or your children have for your pets. “If you want to find out more about what pets get up to, why not book your child a place on one of Pets at Home’s fantastic FREE My Pet Pals workshops? Book your place now by clicking here

Has your DC ever made up a whole story as to what their pet’s life was like before it came into your home? Perhaps they imagine that all pets can speak to each other in a secret language that humans can’t understand? Maybe when you were a child, you imagined that your pet would go on all sorts of adventures when you were out and they would come back and tell you about them?

Whatever the lives/personalities you or your DC have for your pet, share them with us on the thread below and you will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a £300 voucher of your choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

I think our fish have a party at night when we are asleep!

danigrace · 01/03/2018 20:41

Of course animals talk to each other don't they?! I'm pretty sure I still believe that now, not just the kids!

My daughter thinks our budgie flys outside when we aren’t in and meets up with his birdy friends that sit on the bird feeder

Sadly we don’t have any pets but dd and ds involve their imaginary dog Mabel in all their games. She goes everywhere with them, she’s blonde with cute big eyes and the fluffiest tail. She doesn’t really bark much but does if a burglar comes! She doesn’t like baths but likes mud and doughnuts!!

Peter rabbit was dancing on the bottom of this page. I have read peter rabbit to my children and now my grandchildren. He is a wonderful character and i think that he should be read to all children and adults, no matter what the age!

Mel0Dram4 · 02/03/2018 18:54

My son is convinced that our cat is a boy..she's not!
He also thinks she goes to work and makes up stories about the other cats in the neighbourhood being her friends.

AVT5 · 03/03/2018 11:07

apparently fish were found in the toilet water before living in a fish bowl lol

No need to make up a idea for my cat, I just need to read the emails she sends my mother, and some friends of mine.

In short, she is overworked and underpaid. Not paid at all, in fact. Yet, not only is she expected to keep the mice, vole, shrew and rat population down, she also has to look after the other animals we have here (guineas, rabbits, hens, ducks and bees) plus supervise whatever her humans decide to get up to next. It’s very tiring trying to fit that into each and every day, together with the 20 hours of sleep every feline needs!

She can’t even relax once home, as two of the rabbits are indoors just now, and no sooner does she relax with some food than one will creep up behind her to see what she's doing. And the guineas (also inside) insist in screaming with hunger every few minutes, so she gets no peace!

And as for her humans, we have a tendency of doing Very Stupid Things which she has to supervise, such as opening up the bee hive (don’t we know they sting?) or playing about in the river that flows through the garden. Although she has no desire to be near either of these things our stupidity means she must in order to make sure we don’t come to harm. Of course, supervision is accompanied by constant telling off which give her a sore throat, but we still do not pay attention.

Basically, she could keep AIBU running by herself with everything she has to put up with, day in, day out!

Our little old rescue staffie makes many funny noises, we call her snorty pig & make up stories about her not being a dog at all but really a secret pig, i think she plays along with it, but she doesn't have a curly tail which they think someone ironed it out straight!!

Maiyakat · 05/03/2018 21:48

DD seems to think our bunnies can understand everything, she's forever taking things out to show them and wanting them to watch her on the trampoline!

Found Peter Rabbit here. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/films
Our 3 year old daughter always says our 7 year old Jack Russell Bruno says things to her. She will just stop playing and talk to him or answer a question or tells us he needs to go for a wee lol and then just carries on playing.

olbndansmummy · 13/03/2018 11:45

I found him on mumsnet.talk/ami being unreasonable at the bottom of the page.
When we were younger and all still at home my db had a hamster called Bernard (after nursey on black adder! ) even when babies arrived he refused to call her bernadette saying she looked more like a Bernard.

Elliepurplestar · 13/03/2018 11:59

I used to think that my rabbit, when I was a child, understood me talking to her and that she understood what humans were doing ( when gardening etc).

Jaderice21 · 15/03/2018 19:12

Hopezibah · 16/03/2018 14:32

Our kitten turned up out of the blue before christmas on our doorstep. We tried to track down an owner and contacted all the vets in our town but sadly with 3 little black kittens all found looking lost on our street on the same night it looks like they were dumped.

The good news is he's ended up having a very happy comfy life with us with 3 kids who adore him.

But we do often wonder about his past, his history and the adventures he has had. We imagine what he gets up to each day when he ventures out into the garden and we make up thinks that he is thinking when he gives us certain looks and expressions.

He's a fantastic cat and we all love him whatever his secret character is.
