Valentines Day and Mother’s Day are on the horizon and whether you celebrate them or not, it can be a great time to share your love and gratitude to friends, family members and/or partners. With that in mind, Card Factory would love you to visit their website here and pick out your favourite items, whether that’s cards, gifts, flowers or balloons and post them on the thread.

Here’s what Card Factory have to say: “Giving a gift can make any occasion even more special and at Card Factory, you can find something they’ll love from just £1.99. We’ve got fantastic high street and personalised gifts available, as well as more unusual presents like balloon bouquets. Whatever the celebration, you’re bound to find something perfect.”

As well as posting your favourite items from Card Factory, we would also love you to share your gift giving tips. Do you always ensure either the card or gift is personalised to make it that extra bit special? Do you prefer to surprise them with a gift you think they’ll love or ask them exactly what they want? Or maybe you always ensure the wrapping is set to impress.

Whatever your favourite gifts and gift giving tips are, share them on the thread below and you will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher voucher of their choice (from a list). PLUS 5 MNers will win the item they’ve picked from Card factory!

Thanks and good luck!

I really like the personalised slate cheeseboards! I never knew you sold things like that and they look lovely :)

This is one of my favourite Card Factory got-tos. I think the gift bags offer tremendous value and make such a lovely statement as you hand a present over.

I like to make a big effort when presenting gifts and like to personalise them in some way by either writing on plain paper wrapping or adding some embellishments to the swanky ribbons. I do think it shows folk you've tried and spent a few moments making an effort on their behalf.

This www.cardfactory.co.uk/personalised/photo-upload-mothers-day-retro-sweet-jar.htm is lovely - the white mice swung it for me!

I like: www.cardfactory.co.uk/gifts/personalised-hugs-diary-chalkboard.htm
I buy gifts in themes. For instance, last Christmas one recipient had a cherry theme (Pitter, shower gel, Hand wipes, etc.) and another was eggs (! lol ) This year one of the themes is mushrooms...

qate · 13/02/2018 06:14

I love the photo upload mug - https://www.cardfactory.co.uk/personalised/photo-upload-18-photos-mug.htm - would be such a cheery addition to my days at work!

For gifts, I like to choose something that will last and be memorable beyond the occasion itself, so I always go for something personalised or an experience (whether a meal, a night away, or tickets to a concert or the theatre). Double win if I get to go to! Smile

Xmasfairy86 · 13/02/2018 07:29

I love their candies

www.cardfactory.co.uk/gifts/candles/shop-all-candles

this one I haven’t seen in store and looks lush www.cardfactory.co.uk/gifts/turkish-apple-scented-candle-sugar-and-spice.htm

Recently purchased some for various people’s birthdays and have had to rebuy as I wanted to keep them!!

Gift giving, I try and be as thoughtful but unique as I can. I like the idea of giving someone something that they wouldn’t think of but LOVE.

MammieBear · 13/02/2018 09:10

Card factory is great for all birthday and occasion items, your always certain of value for money we always get balloons, wrapping paper, banners and candles from here amongst a whole host of other items, they are great for new baby items with such a great range of items from cuddly toys to money boxes I particularly like the

Photo Upload Print - Mr & Mrs I think this is a lovely item and I never new they did this sort of thing, I will visit the website again in the future!

TheKnackeredChef · 13/02/2018 13:51

I'm just starting a new business so I think your photo upload notebooks (www.cardfactory.co.uk/cards/personalised-photo-upload-business-notebook-full-photo.htm) will be ideal. I'm going to get one each for me and my business partner. I think she'll be delighted!

When it comes to giving gifts, I tend to try and give something that the person is going to remember, rather than a physical thing. So that might be tickets to a circus, or afternoon tea at a nice hotel, that type of thing. I print out the tickets and present them in a really nice box with tissue and ribbon (from Card Factory, of course!) so that they've got a physical thing to open as well.

I love to give personal gifts and really like the 20 print frame. A tip I have (for female friends) is if you really can’t think k of anything to give them, just buy something that you like. If you’re friends, it’s likeky that your tastes are similar.

Popcornandbuttons · 14/02/2018 21:40

This is a lovely Christening present: www.cardfactory.co.uk/personalised/personalised-cube-abc-silver-money-box.htm

I try just to take the time to think about what the person would really want and like, rather than what I want to buy them/ what is easiest.

movinonup · 15/02/2018 11:25

I'm a big fan of this www.cardfactory.co.uk/personalised/photo-upload-20-photos-and-message-print.htm
I give photograph type gifts for almost every adult birthday in my family, Can't go wrong!

daisyduke66 · 15/02/2018 12:25

Bit of a sucker for the Balloon Bouquets so would pick these from The Card Factory website. These are a great gift, especially for a very special occasion - I love to do surprise gifts and to personalise them if possible. I do have an issue keeping secrets however so my surprises quite often fall flat! 😵

DillieDoily · 15/02/2018 15:05

I love the balloon bouquets as to me balloons make a birthday, especially for a kids party. I have bought balloon bouquets loads of times from the card factory as they are so reasonably priced- I had no idea you could order them online for home delivery though!

I love the sound of these tea scented candles.

If you are buying a gift for me, then all I wish for is scented candles, fluffy socks, chocolate and notebooks.
Unfortunately I come from a family who never listen and panic buy at the last moment. Luckily I have children who know me a bit better 😄

I like to put thought into the gifts and cards I buy, I even try to match the card and wrapping to suit the recipients personality.

angell74 · 15/02/2018 21:22

I am terrible at wrapping presents so I keep a stash of tissue paper and bags to make the job easier. The Card Factory has a good range at a great prices.

thanksamillion · 15/02/2018 21:32

I like this photo montage www.cardfactory.co.uk/personalised/photo-upload-20-photos-and-message-print.htm. Mostly I like to give small gifts that have some significance so photos fit that. Around Christmas I often give unusual Christmas decorations as most people have enough general clutter and they can put them away for most of the year!

WheresTheCoffee · 15/02/2018 22:33

I've never bought my mum a helium balloon before but I think she'd like this one www.cardfactory.co.uk/gifts/best-mum-ever-heart-large-foil-helium-balloon.htm
We tend to gift surprises in our family, sometimes jokey, sometimes not but you don't know till you open it!

libra101 · 16/02/2018 07:00

I like to try and choose gifts which I know the recipient would like, and having the gift personalised makes it more special. A friend and her husband have a special anniversary this week, and I love the personalised set of 2 Love Heart glasses as a special gift. The link is www.cardfactory.co.uk/personalised/personalised-set-of-2-love-hearts-wine-glasses.htm

The range of cards for all occasions are also great - starting price at 99p is unbelievable.

I think that having a gift either engraved or personalised in some way, makes it more special.

I love this!
I like to choose well thought out gifts for adults, I hate getting anything I don't want or use so I try to never do that to others. I could do with a gift wrapping service though as I'm awful at it

Chiddles09 · 17/02/2018 07:01

www.cardfactory.co.uk/gifts/5th-birthday-monster-blue-balloon-boquet.htm

My son would love this balloon bouquet for his birthday - I can just imagine his delight opening the box! He loves balloons, but this would take it to another level!

I love giving gifts and find real pleasure in searching for just the right gift for someone, but I’m rubbish at wrapping - I’m afraid it’s a bit of an afterthought for me, so a good supply of tissue paper and gift bags is very useful! I used to be known for giving gifts in carrier bags and this is more acceptable usually!!

Seb1969 · 17/02/2018 12:49

I used to have my nanna's pearl bracelet but it was stolen so I would absolutely love to have this bracèlet
www.cardfactory.co.uk/personalised/personalised-bracelet-with-freshwater-pearls.htm
I like to know what my friends favourite things are so I can select presents that either mean something to thèm or are useful, i don't just randomly pick anything there's always a lot of thought when choosing a present for anyone. The same way I'd hope people would do the same for me ☺

www.cardfactory.co.uk/gifts/multi-photo-cushion-love-you.htm

I love this cushion. I think being able to be there in person is the best gift. M mum always said this and now i understand it's not the gift that's important but rather spending precious time together and not just mothers day.
