The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

After 10 years at Mumsnet, I am logging off and leaving at the end of the year - will def be on the ‘other side’ and keeping an eye on the team. It’s been amazing at MNHQ - seeing the site grow and develop and to work with a great team but time for a change for me personally.

Read on for the chance to win...

~ A Thule Urban Glide running buggy worth £435 Grin or
~ A ‘Christmas All Wrapped Up’ mixed case of wine from Virgin Wines - worth £116.87 or
~ The Marie Claire Skincare Edit from Fabled worth £79 (containing £120 worth of products - ELEMIS Pro Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30, Erborian CC Crème, Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm and Caudalie Beauty Elixir) or
~ A Sanctuary Spa hamper worth £50 or
NEW ~ A year of Soreen worth £70 (52 x £1.35 vouchers for your choice of their squidgy loaves) or
NEW ~ An "Advance Daysack" – worth £75 - from Ski Weekend - they say "a stylish and technical daypack with several compartments and branded with Ski Weekend and Advance Logos. A must have for anyone in need of transporting your kit for an active lifestyle!" Find out more about Ski Weekend (Ski Operators for 30 years, they offer a personal service tailoring Ski breaks in and around Chamonix, Mont Blanc - with a chalet which is ideal for large family and friends groups and is great for kids) here

In 2017, we have given away over £53,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

This year we have all been thrilled to see the Mumsnet Rated badge really gaining momentum - have you seen it on products like Birds Eye frozen chicken, Arla Big Milk, Hedrin Once etc? We have also loved getting your houses sparkly with Buster, and Dettol, having some fun with Count Olaf and Netflix and scoffing trying Soreen mini loaves (they sent soooo much to MNHQ).

For a chance to win one of the above prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on twitter page @MumsnetInsight

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin

I love doing the surveys. Sadly it is probably because nobody listens to me at home...

Next year it would be great to test cruelty free beauty products, how do they stack up against the rest. Also hair gadgets, i’m a sucker for anything which promises to make my ageing looks and locks look good and save time.

collette0409 · 19/12/2017 13:15

I love been a part of the insight, all the products test and reading what other people's think of different things.

My favourite products testing this year was the bird eye chicken. Trying different ways of dish up chicken to my family was fun and taste. Xmas Smile

GlitterFart · 19/12/2017 13:16

I’ve joined the panel after reading about what everybody has testedGrin

CrumblyMumbly · 19/12/2017 14:07

I love being a part of the panel and feeling that my opinion is valued. Also like reading about other things that have been tested. My family all enjoyed testing the Gousto service - it was like an early Christmas present when the box of goodies arrived!

I would like to test 1-1 swimming lessons for my dd who is struggling in a group setting, would love to try a Dyson fan as the hot flushes are raging - maybe try some Hotel Chocolat treats too....please! Sorry, you are leaving Ann - you have done a great job - good luck in all you do from the Crumblies!

rupert23 · 19/12/2017 15:38

we really enjoyed testing google home and my boys would love to test another gadget next year.

vincenta · 19/12/2017 16:31

First of all Thank you! I love to be part of the panel! It is so exciting to try something new and different and read reviews, advices and find useful information.I loved to take part in Fellowes Air purifier test which made life much more pleasant.I loved Valspar walls and ceiling paint,it was so easy to use, fantastic quality paint which made huge difference to our living room wall.I loved Liz Earle cleanse and polish test.It was pure pleasure :) My kids enjoyed Moshi mystery box and loved soreen lunchbox loaves. All our family spent fantastic time on sponsored event.we saw Smurfs the lost village and for my little one it was first proper cinema visit which he enjoyed together with rest of the family. Rapeseed oil benefit challenge was great too as I started to use rapeseed oil more in my cooking and it was great, first time in all those years(i am member for 6 years) I won 250 £ supermarket vouchers for commenting on Rapeseed product test.which I spent with lots of pleasure. It felt sooooooo great! All in all this was probably the best year and I enjoyed it a lot!

Apart from surveys I haven't done much this year. I begged and pleaded to be on the mattress survey without joy Sad. However it did motivate me to use MN to research mattresses and I'm now sleeping much more comfortably on an Ikea Hovag. I did do the eBay one - cheers for the £20!

Thanks for all your help over the years Ann, particularly when we tested the Rook phone for EE and it went wrong. Good luck in your new pastures!

AlpacaLypse · 19/12/2017 17:30

Oh and next year could we test... ethical and fragrance free products - I have real problems with some ingredients. And a slimline dishwasher would be very handy, especially if you send a couple of nice plumbers along to take out the old one and install the new. I can tell you for free that Zanussi was a bit rubbish!

DuskPanda · 19/12/2017 19:56

Love doing the surveys. Was lucky enough to be selected to test the ProSteam washing machine, its certainly being kept busy in our house. Looking forward to seeing what's in store for 2018. Sad but would love to test a robotic hoover thingy or a cordless one.

avocadoadvantage · 19/12/2017 20:09

We enjoyed testing the new range of Savese cold pressed baby food this year; mainly as I'd never buy it! We were not so keen on the weaning spoons where one was so bendy it wouldn't scoop up the food!

I always seem to be picked to test nappies and baby food so next year I'd like to test something just for me!

GruffaloPants · 19/12/2017 21:32

I really enjoyed the Soreen mini loaves. Discovered that they taste amazing, bizarrely, when wrapped in Pastrami. Wish I had some now.

I would like a buggy test, or a Dyson V8 test Grin

Butterfly1975 · 19/12/2017 21:36

Have entered through Twitter and retweeted some of your posts from today. Ooh get me... am still a Twitter native Xmas Grin

Good luck Ann Xmas Smile

gemsi · 19/12/2017 21:52

It's been lovely being a part of Mumsnet this year! I have enjoyed receiving your emails for tips, advice, laughs, competitions and product tests. I haven't won any of the vouchers as yet but I've been sent two free books to read with my little one which was just lovely.
I enjoy being a part of this community as a whole and look forward to continuing to be a member next year!
Merry Christmas everyone, have a good one :) x

CMOTDibbler · 19/12/2017 21:57

I'm sorry you're leaving Ann

I love doing product tests, even though ds is 11 so we are obv out of the age range for a lot. DS is very keen on them too.

I'd like to test skincare or makeup (in my dreams a hotel stay!) as its the sort of thing you can't trust online reviews of as they are mostly paid - and MN reviewers don't pull any punches!

Jessiecat27 · 19/12/2017 22:48

I would like to test a new kitchen appliance or baby product, anything to make mummy life easier or cooking which is one of my favourite things to do! The Dyson air purifier hot/cold would be an amazing one to test too as I have horrible allergies which medication doesn't always help with so if it worked it would be a life changer!

quizqueen · 19/12/2017 23:29

I have a large garden with lots of trees so I'd love to test a robot lawn mower and anything that would get rid of a million fallen leaves!

modzy78 · 20/12/2017 02:54

I'd love the opportunity to test some subscription boxes. I think many of them seem interesting but am nervous about spending the money without knowing what we're getting. One box would be a nice introduction to decide on the value.

ClaireJ89 · 20/12/2017 06:42

this year I have absolutely loved trying different products which have been so varied and fantastic! we absolutely loved trying lidl nappies - absolutely fantastic! totally changed our minds and shopping habits there!
next year would love to see more beauty and mums health products under review for testing, I think thatd be so wonderful and beneficial for a lot of people as we never spend money on ourselves as mums do we! and this would be a great chance to try a lovely new product so we could look at buying if we loved it!

Shoom72 · 20/12/2017 08:00

I would love to trial any skin care items as my skin does get neglected!!

Spink · 20/12/2017 08:05

I’ve signed up to the panel :)

Rigbyroo · 20/12/2017 09:23

I always love reading the product tests and the excitement of waiting to see if I've been chosen! We enjoyed taking part in the moshi monsters box trial!

Miaow1234 · 20/12/2017 11:10

We have enjoyed all our trials but especially the Google home one, we are still enjoying using it and my daughter loves asking lots of questions.

I’ve done D following on twitter

neonpink · 20/12/2017 14:04

i would truly love to product test a Bosch condenser dryer! :)

MTBMummy · 20/12/2017 15:03

I've really enjoyed taking part in various tests, the paw patrol cake test was a huge hit in our house (especially as it was delivered before the school run) but I really enjoyed the screenlimit one as it opened my eyes to what is actually out there for parents to protect children online.

Thunderpunt · 20/12/2017 15:25

Another product test suggestion would be private pension planning services/tools as it's a job I have been putting off for,the past 5 Januarys (I already commented further back about the rest Smile)
