The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

After 10 years at Mumsnet, I am logging off and leaving at the end of the year - will def be on the ‘other side’ and keeping an eye on the team. It’s been amazing at MNHQ - seeing the site grow and develop and to work with a great team but time for a change for me personally.

Read on for the chance to win...

~ A Thule Urban Glide running buggy worth £435 Grin or
~ A ‘Christmas All Wrapped Up’ mixed case of wine from Virgin Wines - worth £116.87 or
~ The Marie Claire Skincare Edit from Fabled worth £79 (containing £120 worth of products - ELEMIS Pro Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30, Erborian CC Crème, Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm and Caudalie Beauty Elixir) or
~ A Sanctuary Spa hamper worth £50 or
NEW ~ A year of Soreen worth £70 (52 x £1.35 vouchers for your choice of their squidgy loaves) or
NEW ~ An "Advance Daysack" – worth £75 - from Ski Weekend - they say "a stylish and technical daypack with several compartments and branded with Ski Weekend and Advance Logos. A must have for anyone in need of transporting your kit for an active lifestyle!" Find out more about Ski Weekend (Ski Operators for 30 years, they offer a personal service tailoring Ski breaks in and around Chamonix, Mont Blanc - with a chalet which is ideal for large family and friends groups and is great for kids) here

In 2017, we have given away over £53,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

This year we have all been thrilled to see the Mumsnet Rated badge really gaining momentum - have you seen it on products like Birds Eye frozen chicken, Arla Big Milk, Hedrin Once etc? We have also loved getting your houses sparkly with Buster, and Dettol, having some fun with Count Olaf and Netflix and scoffing trying Soreen mini loaves (they sent soooo much to MNHQ).

For a chance to win one of the above prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on twitter page @MumsnetInsight

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin

Had an amazing year with you mumsnet and thanks for giving me the opportunity to test products and give feedback as well as all fab competitions and advice on your forum.

MrsAlwaysRight · 18/12/2017 21:20

I've been lucky enough to test quite a few products this year but my favourite was probably the Gousto box and my kids loved testing the Gogo squeeze packs and the chocolate cake!

Next year I'd love to test some beauty products or products for the home.

Wetdogloveshubert · 18/12/2017 21:27

I have really enjoyed being part of the panel this year - I memorably got to test the Thermo thermometer which was great fun and has given us a wonderfully reassuring tool for illnesses. I'm a part of other testing sites, but this one gives me the opportunity to share with other women. It's so much more interesting! Next year I would love to try any more household goods and beauty products as I'm so inexperienced that it would be fun. Thanks Mumsnet!

WelliesAndPyjamas · 18/12/2017 21:29

Would also like to test a robot lawnmower or any other clever time and labour saving inventions that 'normal' people would normally encounter.

NettleTea · 18/12/2017 21:30

Ive tested a number of things over the years but as memeory is a bit shot I cant remember if any were this year! I do like the product tests though, especially if I have considered buying a product, its always good to see what people thing

lottietiger · 18/12/2017 22:10

My son enjoyed the reading eggs. The birds eye test was great as we never would have tried it prior to the test.

I'd like to test more home appliances, learning apps for primary school age children, and any food!

fivekidsonemum · 18/12/2017 22:20

Aww it's been a great year, I've really enjoyed the surveys and their topics this year, I love the fact they give us a little sneak peek before anyone else into what the brand is considering bringing out/doing next with their products! Although I haven't won this year we've had a lot of amazing prizes and the vouchers amount has been for more this year I think. Next year if love to test "Holiday Items" eg suitcases, kids equipment for holidays, tents etc because I spend all year planning our holiday to Wales so I'd be really really interested in trying things out. The staff at Mums Net have been amazing as usual and have made sure the emails are cheery and funny and not too formal like a robots talking to us like some other sites do! So thanks for a fab 2017, Bring on the Christmas Dinner bloat I'm ready this year with my baggy pants and a pillow ready to fall straight asleep afterwards !! (With 5 young kids =Fat Chance haha)
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE have a brill day and Goodluck for 2018 xxx Xmas Grin

alijchappell · 18/12/2017 22:23

I tested the Savse baby food.

I would have loved to test Birds Eye products so if that came round again I would be really interested.

Shortie10 · 18/12/2017 22:25

I’ve loved testing products & giving feedback - my favourites have been the Birds eye chicken, the ketchup and the moisturiser!
I also love completing the surveys.
Next year I’d like to test more food items, children’s items and electronics

starlingsintheslipstream · 18/12/2017 22:39

I'm such a fan of the panel and have had the opportunity to test some great products. This year I've done Fanta, antiseptic wipes and the amazing Duvulay mattress. I'd recommend Insight to everyone. Mumsnet is my go-to place when I'm buying anything to check reviews and people's experiences.

NoodieRoodie · 18/12/2017 22:45

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Robinson's squash box! We loved testing that as the children thought all their Chrismas's had come at once as usually they have to finish one bottle before I'll open the next. I was also thrilled to win vouchers after posting on a feedback thread. Next year I'd love to test anything kitcheny or beauty products

Hmumto3 · 18/12/2017 22:56

Would love to product test dyson hoover

Whyisitsodifficult · 18/12/2017 23:04

I would love to product test an IPL machine. It would be great to be hair free but not sure I can justify the price if it didn't work. Failing that a spa day would be fab!

LaNouba · 19/12/2017 00:50

Backhometothenorth · 19/12/2017 05:58

I love testing products for Mumsnet! I think I must be a little odd as I get unreasonably excited each time the package arrives! The toddler snacks went down very well with my little one but the amazing mattress was definitely the high point this year- a wonderful surprise thank you! I would love to test a case of virgin wines next Grin

IWasThere4Aug12 · 19/12/2017 06:23

JulesJules · 19/12/2017 06:24

We tested the Birds Eye Chicken. Think that was the only thing I got picked for (and I'm a vegetarian Grin)

I always do the surveys.

I'd like product tests on skincare, food , cookbooks...!

boo2410 · 19/12/2017 07:32

I've never been lucky enough too get to test anything!!! However I too would love to test the Dyson hairdryer (is it really worth th money???) Or even a portable low cost heater as I work from home and am too tight to put the heating on all day. Or anything foodie as my 14 year old eats like a horse and is not backwards at coming forward with an opinion a review.

OrianaBanana · 19/12/2017 07:43

We enjoyed the Aveeno trial! Lovely smell (not usually associated with my baby)...

Now following on Twitter.

puglife · 19/12/2017 08:10

Would love to test a tumble drier. We don’t have one... I think it could change my life!

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 19/12/2017 08:10

Really enjoyed all the product tests - thanks for the opportunity! However our favourite was the Little Dish meals. The kids loved trying them out.

Best wishes Ann 😊
