The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

After 10 years at Mumsnet, I am logging off and leaving at the end of the year - will def be on the ‘other side’ and keeping an eye on the team. It’s been amazing at MNHQ - seeing the site grow and develop and to work with a great team but time for a change for me personally.

Read on for the chance to win...

~ A Thule Urban Glide running buggy worth £435 Grin or
~ A ‘Christmas All Wrapped Up’ mixed case of wine from Virgin Wines - worth £116.87 or
~ The Marie Claire Skincare Edit from Fabled worth £79 (containing £120 worth of products - ELEMIS Pro Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30, Erborian CC Crème, Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm and Caudalie Beauty Elixir) or
~ A Sanctuary Spa hamper worth £50 or
NEW ~ A year of Soreen worth £70 (52 x £1.35 vouchers for your choice of their squidgy loaves) or
NEW ~ An "Advance Daysack" – worth £75 - from Ski Weekend - they say "a stylish and technical daypack with several compartments and branded with Ski Weekend and Advance Logos. A must have for anyone in need of transporting your kit for an active lifestyle!" Find out more about Ski Weekend (Ski Operators for 30 years, they offer a personal service tailoring Ski breaks in and around Chamonix, Mont Blanc - with a chalet which is ideal for large family and friends groups and is great for kids) here

In 2017, we have given away over £53,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

This year we have all been thrilled to see the Mumsnet Rated badge really gaining momentum - have you seen it on products like Birds Eye frozen chicken, Arla Big Milk, Hedrin Once etc? We have also loved getting your houses sparkly with Buster, and Dettol, having some fun with Count Olaf and Netflix and scoffing trying Soreen mini loaves (they sent soooo much to MNHQ).

For a chance to win one of the above prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on twitter page @MumsnetInsight

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin

The threads which have really made a difference to my life are the Woolly Hugs threads, particularly the Candy's Legacy series, which was how I got hooked (see what I did there? Wink ).

I have loved the community and the sense of purpose. All working our fingers madly to get the Chernobyl squares and blankets done in time.

I think therefore the best of the WH threads are those for Chernobyl blankets, but also the threads dedicated to Zombie's blanket.

Hello! This year I don't think I've been chosen to test anything which has been a shame, however I'd love there to be beauty and food tests as these are always welcome..if there are ever gins to be tried please let me know!

Thanks again to all of the mnetters who have kept me entertained and informed throughout the year.

All the best to you @AnnMumsnet wherever life takes you Thanks

ikkle87 · 03/01/2018 22:49

a) We only did the one product test this year and that was the Disney Toddler snacks which we enjoyed and were great for my son and my niece and nephew.

b) Next year I'd love to test some educational and sensory items as my son only does 2hrs a day in reception at the moment and I find the whole learning from home aspect a bit terrifying as there is so much out there!

whitbyranger · 04/01/2018 04:39

I'd like to test wireless headphones. I have had limited success with the two pairs that I have bought.

Quietvoiceplease · 04/01/2018 05:42

I've had another thought about product tests for next year: I'd love to see testing of products for hair removal. What I'd find brilliant, is some sort of comparison arrangement where the many different products available are tested and compared. I realise that's quite difficult to arrange!
Thanks again for all that you do. It's always very exciting to be asked to test something!

Amanduh · 04/01/2018 09:24

I'd love to test a decent hair curler, or any family and bsby bits. Really enjoyed mumsnet this year, just for having the help and advice from other people, it can be really reassuring. Thank you
Flowers

Hi

I've joined the panel :)

Amybee90 · 04/01/2018 13:59

Done c.
I enjoyed taking part in helping the homeless and families who don’t have much. I love cooking for the homeless and giving gifts and making little boxes for families. Seeing their faces is priceless and I would keep on doing it in the future.

Jaderice21 · 04/01/2018 15:37

ithink affordable beauty products and activies for mums as self care is so important and admit it we spend all the money on the kids :)

Mandatorymongoose · 04/01/2018 16:03

I feel very lucky to have got to test some nice make up / skin care stuff last year (god knows I need it 😂)

I'd love to test anything techy- gradually making my house SMART so even if I didn't get to try stuff it would be great to hear others opinions.

Firewall · 04/01/2018 16:13

I've really enjoyed testing the air purifier. It's really improved our quality of life in that my husband and son have really bad hay fever and this piece of kit which I hadn't even heard of before the test greatly improved the air quality in the house and they were mostly clear of symptoms indoors.

Belo · 04/01/2018 16:36

I took part in the Tefal cook4me product test. It has introduced me to a new way of cooking. For the period of the product test, I followed the recipes and the instructions for cooking specific ingredients in a rather strict fashion. 6 months on, I've got the confidence to use it in a way that backs up, speeds up and adds to my normal cooking style. I now don't know what I would do without it. THANK YOU MUMSNET!

As to what products I would like to test next year, if there are any more kitchen gadgets out there which I'm not familiar with then I would love to test those! And, I would be very keen to test any products that help me look younger, thicken up my hair, lose weight in an effortless way and / or are tasty to eat (in a healthy type way!)

chickensandbees · 04/01/2018 16:44

I was chosen for the homebase garden goals product test this year which was amazing. It was lovely to update the thread and see what everyone else was doing as well. Another product test like this would be good where you actively have to do things and can involve the family.

I would love to test and Dyson product including the hairdryer!!

Another vote for mattresses as well.

katieskatie82 · 04/01/2018 17:00

i'd love to test a Dyson Hairdryer. They look amazing! x

gin33333 · 04/01/2018 17:42

Enjoyed participating in the live discussions on different topics was a bit fast as theyvwas lots of different topics coming in but got there in the end

Cineraria · 04/01/2018 18:10

We enjoyed testing the Hellman's ketchup. Even after posting the feedback, we'd test it side by side with our usual one with any ketchup suitable meal to see which we preferred and we buy both now. I wouldn't have tried it if it hadn't been for the insight opportunity.

1disneyfanatic · 04/01/2018 18:17

I didn’t manage to try anything in 2017 but hopefully 2018 will be luckier.

I would love to try an instapot or a decent hoover which actually works well.

My kids would say they’d like to try food, food and more food or sports equipment like football or tennis products.

Followed con twitter now my DD10 has set me up an account 😝

sweir1 · 04/01/2018 19:35

I would love to do some testing on anything fragranty!

PathologyGeek · 04/01/2018 21:01

ID love to test one of these instapots - I mean it just cannot be true!!! Or a heated clothes drier. Or a pulsed light hair removal thingy-majig. Basically my amazon wish list please!

FlukeSkyeRunner · 04/01/2018 21:32

Id love to test a steam mop - I've heard good things of them but haven't been brave enough to invest in one yet.

Ren1974 · 04/01/2018 21:46

Love being on the panel and testing new products. I was also super excited in June to win £300 in vouchers which gave the whole family a new summer wardrobe and all we needed for a fun summer!

I would LOVE to test a sun protection pill that you take before you go on holiday so I do not have to put on sun tan lotion for the whole two weeks (sounds far fetched but apparently it is being looked into by scientists!)

Muchtoomuchtodo · 04/01/2018 21:47

We really enjoyed testing out Gousto box and the wooden spoon is still in daily use!

I'd like more chances to increase my use of tech to assist our family - not really sure what are we really are very tech-free in our current approach but I'm open to suggestions!

Creditnote · 04/01/2018 21:55

We loved testing chocolate cake as it arrived in time for my daughter's birthday. It was nice to have all the family involved.

I would love to test a family break away but failing that some non plastic food storage solutions. We're trying to make a real effort reducing our plastic use and am realised that it's everywhere!

smithsurvey14 · 05/01/2018 00:12

I enjoyed product testing the soreen miniloaves as unfortunately (but fortunately for me) my children didn't like them so I had to eat the rest. Mmmmmmm
I always enjoy testing food products and would like to see more this year.
