The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

After 10 years at Mumsnet, I am logging off and leaving at the end of the year - will def be on the ‘other side’ and keeping an eye on the team. It’s been amazing at MNHQ - seeing the site grow and develop and to work with a great team but time for a change for me personally.

Read on for the chance to win...

~ A Thule Urban Glide running buggy worth £435 Grin or
~ A ‘Christmas All Wrapped Up’ mixed case of wine from Virgin Wines - worth £116.87 or
~ The Marie Claire Skincare Edit from Fabled worth £79 (containing £120 worth of products - ELEMIS Pro Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30, Erborian CC Crème, Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm and Caudalie Beauty Elixir) or
~ A Sanctuary Spa hamper worth £50 or
NEW ~ A year of Soreen worth £70 (52 x £1.35 vouchers for your choice of their squidgy loaves) or
NEW ~ An "Advance Daysack" – worth £75 - from Ski Weekend - they say "a stylish and technical daypack with several compartments and branded with Ski Weekend and Advance Logos. A must have for anyone in need of transporting your kit for an active lifestyle!" Find out more about Ski Weekend (Ski Operators for 30 years, they offer a personal service tailoring Ski breaks in and around Chamonix, Mont Blanc - with a chalet which is ideal for large family and friends groups and is great for kids) here

In 2017, we have given away over £53,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

This year we have all been thrilled to see the Mumsnet Rated badge really gaining momentum - have you seen it on products like Birds Eye frozen chicken, Arla Big Milk, Hedrin Once etc? We have also loved getting your houses sparkly with Buster, and Dettol, having some fun with Count Olaf and Netflix and scoffing trying Soreen mini loaves (they sent soooo much to MNHQ).

For a chance to win one of the above prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on twitter page @MumsnetInsight

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin

I'd love to see testing of organic veg box schemes, kids bikes, toy storage systems, school bags, slings

buchanl79 · 30/12/2017 05:15

i WOULD LIKE TO TEST TOYS OT GAMES APPROPRIATE FOR A 9 YEAR OLD AS WE SPEND A LOT OF TIME PLAYING BOARD GAMES, COMPUTERM CARDS ETC AS WE LOVE TO COMPETE IN A BIT OF MOTHER/DAUGHTER RIVALRY WE BOTH HATE TO LOSE

cwalliss82 · 30/12/2017 19:46

I just love reading all the hilarious parenting stories. You just can't make them up. They are priceless and they show me that parenting isn't all rainbows and princesses but that even challenging situations can be laughed at later on.

Littlequaver2 · 30/12/2017 19:59

The best thing about testing products this year is finding new products we love. So far we are converts to textured antibacterial wipes and pull up nappies. Next year I would love to test carpet stain remover - anything to remove the carnage that is Christmas from my carpet and any product that claims to get my son to sleep no matter how far-fetched!

CatkinToadflax · 30/12/2017 20:33

Thanks Ann for everything x

Haven’t done much testing this year, after massively lucking in and testing the AEG washing machine last year (which I absolutely LOVE), this year I’ve done the honey ketchup (nice on a burger!), Sanctuary skin spa moisturiser (lovely) and the sugar free chocolate cake (nasty). All great fun and always ready and willing to test more things! Also enjoy being on the insight panel.

As for what I’d like to test, hmm, a magimix type kitchen aid thingy; any type of Google Home/Alexa equivalent; any online/techy stuff that my NT 9 year old and severely ASD 12 year old could play on together.

And another one here interested in the dyson hairdryer and magical carpet stain remover!

ScarlettDarling · 30/12/2017 21:21

I haven't had the chance to test anything for ages. My dc get madly excited when we get the chance to test out new products for MN and always take their reviewing very seriously.

We enjoyed testing the Robinsons juices (was that this year or last?) and loved the fancy crate they were delivered in!

Asking my dc, products they'd love to help review include chocolate, ipads(!) and onesies!! Dh says he would like to test cars! Me, I'm easier to please. I'd like to review various brands of stuff we'd normally buy such as groceries and household products. I once did a product test for Visqueen bin bags and loved them so much that I've bought them ever since.

Tkw2014 · 30/12/2017 22:33

I am on the panel but have not product tested this year. I love taking surveys for the chance to win.

buckley1983 · 30/12/2017 23:36

I enjoyed taking part in the Bird's Eye Chicken product/recipe test. I had fun cooking with my LO & enjoyed trying out some new recipes! Happy 2018 all :)

NoNoCharlieRascal · 30/12/2017 23:36

Joined the panel, fingers crossed eh? Smile

EskSmith · 30/12/2017 23:43

I found the hedrin and Google home reviews useful this year. I'd like to see robot vacuums reviewed in the new year xx

TooSleepyToCare · 31/12/2017 00:00

I'm on the panel but never got to test anything as yet. Fingers crossed for 2018.
I'd be happy to test anything (relevant) to myself / my family. Although something that could mow our lawn would be great.

Good luck post-mumsnet, Ann.

Dixiestampsagain · 31/12/2017 07:20

The whole family enjoyed testing the GoGo Squeeze fruit pouches and they became a lunch box staple. I’d love to test any food/beauty/household products- bring it on!

Marg2k8 · 31/12/2017 09:39

I've not done any product testing for Mumsnet. Perhaps I ought to look into this in 2018. Happy New Year everyone.

stefalfie11 · 31/12/2017 11:52

Would love to test the lumea body clocks as I've nothing but good things about them!

tabbaz123 · 31/12/2017 14:39

I would love to test a multi cooker - so many different ones it is hard to choose!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 31/12/2017 15:24

I would like to test the Remington Keratin Radiance Sleek & Smooth Brush or the Dyson Hairdryer or anything Beauty related.
My DD would love to test the NutriBullet & or Veggie Bullet.

AliBingo · 31/12/2017 16:34

Don't realise MN were on Twitter; am now following you!

MummySparkle · 31/12/2017 17:03

Ooooh I would LOVE to test the Dyson Hairdryer. Or in fact any hairdryer, preferably a really quiet one for my noise-sensitive DD.

Think I'm on the panel, but I will double check and sign up again if not Grin

ScribbleWibble · 31/12/2017 17:48

We really enjoyed the birdseye product test, and have continued to use one of the recipes.

I would love to test make up, the much requested Dyson hair dryer, a Sonos One or any sort of kitchen gadget!

MrsSamSmith · 31/12/2017 20:00

Would love to test the Dyson Hair dryer, I mean seriously, can it be worth it?
Would like to try some face creams, especially ones with anti-wrinkle properties Blush
Food.. anything healthy to tempt the DC’s with.

mishknight · 31/12/2017 20:36

Followed and retweeted one of your tweets. twitter.com/MumsnetInsight/status/942680846330421248

I've signed up for the panel...I don't think I was properly signed up even though I love testing things and I do remember having some frozen potatoes from you in the distant past (wasn't a fan). I'd love to test any toddler stuff as my littlest moves towards the terrible twos, bags with reins, developmental toys, healthy snacks etc etc. Also anything to make our home more efficient - robot vacuum, automated lighting....and also chocolate and pies.

colleysmill · 31/12/2017 21:30

Ds loved testing the Moshi monsters pack.

Next year I'd like to product test an Audi Grin No? Drat. I'll settle for vegan products then as I am beginning to hedge that way

Raahh · 31/12/2017 23:25

I've tested a few things over the years- this year dd2 was delighted with the Moshi Box (it contained a ubiquitous unicorn, so was a big hitGrin), and in a very cash strapped year, I was very grateful to be chosen for the Pizza Express test, as it meant we could go out for DD1's birthday in August and I didn't have to worry about it.

Also , over the years I've benefited from school uniform tests (which was very welcome) and M and S underwear (which I still have Grin).

As for things I'd like to test- I'm getting on a bit, and medication has ruined my once lovely curly hair . I'd love to test anything that might fix it! Grin I would also be intrigued to see if the Dyson hair dryer was worth it, really! (But I'm very attached to my diffuser!)

Good luck Ann in your new venture- I'll miss your e-mails telling me I've been chosen.

ChasedByBees · 01/01/2018 01:09

I'd like to test a slow cooker. My DH says we have no room but I'm sure we could make room...
