The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

After 10 years at Mumsnet, I am logging off and leaving at the end of the year - will def be on the ‘other side’ and keeping an eye on the team. It’s been amazing at MNHQ - seeing the site grow and develop and to work with a great team but time for a change for me personally.

Read on for the chance to win...

~ A Thule Urban Glide running buggy worth £435 Grin or
~ A ‘Christmas All Wrapped Up’ mixed case of wine from Virgin Wines - worth £116.87 or
~ The Marie Claire Skincare Edit from Fabled worth £79 (containing £120 worth of products - ELEMIS Pro Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30, Erborian CC Crème, Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm and Caudalie Beauty Elixir) or
~ A Sanctuary Spa hamper worth £50 or
NEW ~ A year of Soreen worth £70 (52 x £1.35 vouchers for your choice of their squidgy loaves) or
NEW ~ An "Advance Daysack" – worth £75 - from Ski Weekend - they say "a stylish and technical daypack with several compartments and branded with Ski Weekend and Advance Logos. A must have for anyone in need of transporting your kit for an active lifestyle!" Find out more about Ski Weekend (Ski Operators for 30 years, they offer a personal service tailoring Ski breaks in and around Chamonix, Mont Blanc - with a chalet which is ideal for large family and friends groups and is great for kids) here

In 2017, we have given away over £53,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

This year we have all been thrilled to see the Mumsnet Rated badge really gaining momentum - have you seen it on products like Birds Eye frozen chicken, Arla Big Milk, Hedrin Once etc? We have also loved getting your houses sparkly with Buster, and Dettol, having some fun with Count Olaf and Netflix and scoffing trying Soreen mini loaves (they sent soooo much to MNHQ).

For a chance to win one of the above prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on twitter page @MumsnetInsight

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin

I would like to test cordless vacuum cleaners. Have read up about them but until you try one, it’s hard to know what it will be like. I want to know what weight works, how often it needs emptying and what the extra bits can do.

snowplop · 28/12/2017 16:19

I enjoyed taking part in the ebay sellers test this year. I'd really love to test a Miele appliance or a robot lawnmower/hoover one day.

user1496053440 · 28/12/2017 16:38

I would love to test any household cleaning items

ladygoingGaga · 28/12/2017 18:46

Oohhh... a wish list of what I would like to see tested in 2018 Hmm

Certainly new food products, those that are good for you would be a bonus.
Perhaps controversially i would like to see gym classes/boot camp as a trial for some honest feedback.
Kitchen items or equipment that makes life easier, or simpler.
How about clothes? Could think of a few brands I would love to
try.

MsPassepartout · 28/12/2017 18:53

I really enjoyed taking part in the product test for the Lidl Lupilo pull-ups. They were just as good as the far more expensive branded pull-ups we were using, so they’ll be a good money saver for us going forward.

I also did the My First Savse product test, and was less impressed with their pouches of cold pressed baby food, but it was still good to get the chance to try them, even if we didn’t like them enough to want to go out and buy them ourselves.

I would love to test a shoe brand. I hate it when you buy new boots and they are missing something. A try before you buy would be fab.

openscanofworms · 28/12/2017 19:45

Just signed up to join the panel!
I would love to try a Dyson hairdryer, a thermostat system (like Hive) or a pet-hair sucking vacuum cleaner

CombineBananaFister · 28/12/2017 21:26

We won a Moana gift set for naming a female role model our children look up to. We were able to give it to my sons 8yr old best friend (who was his female role model Grin) and who had stuck up and stood by him all this year as he dealt with some awful bullying due to his severe eczema. She was over the moon with the toys. We also got to try a guosto box which was amazing, such a treat!!

CombineBananaFister · 28/12/2017 21:27

oh, and I would love to try anything allergy related or more foodstuffs Grin

ncullinane · 28/12/2017 22:32

I'd love to test out a small stroller that fits in a small boot, ideally a double one too!

mummykate87 · 28/12/2017 23:11

I'd like to test beauty products. :)

HildaWazzo · 28/12/2017 23:25

I’d be happy to test pretty much anything, but particularly household appliances. I’m also quite interested in the Dyson hairdryer. Or items for decorating or sorting out the garden - I’ve got a lot of work to do on the house, so it would be a good time to test some products out.

toopeoply · 29/12/2017 05:52

I enjoyed the go baby food test this yr. I'd like to test any smart home stuff, I'm still sceptical! I'm already on the panel and follow you on twitter!

alcass · 29/12/2017 08:27

I’ve now joined, so here’s hoping I win!

jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 29/12/2017 09:16

Signed up to the panel.

Quietvoiceplease · 29/12/2017 09:51

We loved testing the Soreen mini-loaves. A small thing, perhaps, but lovely to receive and a great chance to explain to my DDs about market research, and product testing, and how difficult it is for manufacturers to develop new products.
I'd love to test the new Dyson hairdryer. Looks so weird futuristic, and so curious to know what difference it makes.
Thanks for all your loveliness this year. Will be sad to see you leave, Ann. I felt like I sort of got to know you via several emails about the Fanta-test-that-wasn't.

SmileAndNod · 29/12/2017 11:23

I think this year I've been lucky and tested ketchup, squeezy fruit and in shower body lotion 😊
Next year I would be interested in testing cleaning products or beauty stuff as I'm looking and feeling rough!

Dizzywizz · 29/12/2017 12:44

Hi,

Have followed you on twitter!

Rainbowsaretoo · 29/12/2017 13:50

Followed on twitter! Can't believe I wasn't doing it already to be honest!

littlemonkeyz · 29/12/2017 14:47

I loved entering competitions (didn't win any though) and reading your family recipes as my son is a fussy eater. I also find great support reading your threads on childhood illnesses. I am pretty savvy when it comes to technology and help all my extended family with 'techincal issues' so I would enjoy testing and writing about technology, especially in relation to education and child safety. I would like to test out the Tinitell childrens GPS watch or the AngelSense. Good luck with your new endeavours :)

ha2el · 29/12/2017 16:55

I would like to product test of frying and saute pans with different surfaces. Maybe compare different non-stick surfaces to ceramic.

badgermum · 29/12/2017 17:59

I'd be very happy to test dishwasher tablets to see which give the best results

TheImprobableGirl · 29/12/2017 18:32

I had the opportunity to test a couple of things last year (Echo Falls wine, and Bear YOYO's) but unfortunately I haven't been lucky enough to be picked for anything this year!

I would love to know if I'm still eligible for product tests (as I was picked to test a Moshi Monsters pack in the Summer, but it never arrived so I didn't leave feedback - as advised by MNHQ). If you could clarify that I am still eligible that would be great!

Other than that, I would love the opportunity to test coffee makers/pods, as there is so much variety now and also would definitely read reviews of newer tech (Alexa/Google Home/Roomba)

Mattress reviews are always really useful, and I would love reviews of some of the bigger name brands, to see if they really are worth their inflated price tag!

cather · 29/12/2017 19:17

I would love to test some luxury beauty products or a food mixer

WildRosesGrow · 29/12/2017 22:25

I'd love to test some craft sets for families or board games.
