The nights are drawing in, the kids are (hopefully) settled back at school and many people are thinking about a change of job.

If education, experience, salary, childcare was no concern, we’d love to know what your perfect job would be. Go on to Mumsnet Jobs and tell us which of the listed jobs you'd go for.

How about being CDIO Finance Director in the Civil Service? Or being the Deputy Director for Counter-Terrorism Strategy in the Home Office? Or even a Senior Test Engineer for a medical device manufacturer or how about a Fashion Editorial Assistant?

If none appeal, tell us your brief job description (and who with) that would get you dusting off your CV and making that application?

If you’re interested in a new job sign up for Mumsnet Jobs alerts here and do follow them on Twitter @mumsnetjobs.
Alternatively, if you’re an employer and want to find that perfect candidate, then list your job vacancies here!.

Thanks

I would love to work for a Prop company making replica props. I spend a lot of time making Star Wars props at home so to get paid for this would be bloody amazing!

I would love to run my own business making candles, Reed diffusers and other homework such as cake stands and glassware. I would want my business to use recycled glass materials so each candle holder would be unique but also better for the environment.

Ideally, I’d like be to be able to make money as a composer, but that’s hard. I would also love to write for a living. I can only work from home and find it difficult to find things I can actually do to make ‘proper’ money.

I have my perfect job - I'm an oncology/haematology nurse, however I do wish the hours were more family friendly- each shift is 11.5 hours long (and more money would be nice 😁)

The privilege of seeing animals in their natural environment would be something I would love to experience.

That said... head of festivals which is being advertised on the pages now sounds tempting Grin

House matcher.

Not an estate agent but genuinely matching people to houses. Getting paid to scour rightmove rather than just spends hours on there unpaid!

Meeting people and understanding what they need.
Knowing the local market inside out.
Nosying in people's homes

Kind of like Kirsty and Phil's researcher!

I would like a funded PhD studentship, researching at the cutting edge of biomedical science in Cambridge. I'm currently studying for my MSc so this hopefully will be my reality one day! I would also greatly be enticed by flexible working opportunities. There are many areas I'm interested in - stem cells, transplantation science, intestinal permeability and diabetes, dementia, 3D printed implants - in fact it's almost easier to say what I wouldn't want to research than what I would!

I'd love to work at home being a mumsnet forum moderator. I've been a mod for other forums before and currently run my own business from home proofreading to fit in with preschool hours etc. Gave up a career as an academic librarian but I'm much happier now. If a little broke financially...!
