The nights are drawing in, the kids are (hopefully) settled back at school and many people are thinking about a change of job.

If education, experience, salary, childcare was no concern, we’d love to know what your perfect job would be. Go on to Mumsnet Jobs and tell us which of the listed jobs you'd go for.

How about being CDIO Finance Director in the Civil Service? Or being the Deputy Director for Counter-Terrorism Strategy in the Home Office? Or even a Senior Test Engineer for a medical device manufacturer or how about a Fashion Editorial Assistant?

If none appeal, tell us your brief job description (and who with) that would get you dusting off your CV and making that application?

If you’re interested in a new job sign up for Mumsnet Jobs alerts here and do follow them on Twitter @mumsnetjobs.
Alternatively, if you’re an employer and want to find that perfect candidate, then list your job vacancies here!.

Thanks

I'd want to work in a cat charity.

user1485196412 · 12/10/2017 12:09

I would be a print designer for children's wear for a big company such as Boden, illustrating a few children's books on the side. Working mostly from a studio at home with the odd trip to London and abroad for meetings. Any jobs anyone?

lovewatchingrainfall · 12/10/2017 13:36

I would love to either be the manager of a wedding dress shop or be an events co ordinator

BrieAndChilli · 12/10/2017 15:21

My dream job is an event manager. I’m amazing at organising and making sure each detail is thought of.

I want to work in the mental health industry. Start as a nurse and progress on to counselling.

ErinSophia · 12/10/2017 18:58

A Support Worker and a counsellor.

Nasreen · 12/10/2017 19:44

I would love to work in a rabbit rescue centre. Cleaning out the bun, giving them cuddles and generally mucking in with their care.

Failing that, I would love to run a successful health food shop..

Theresnonamesleft · 12/10/2017 19:49

At the moment my dream job would be lots of flexibility. So if I wanted to work at 2am this could happen without it rota'd in. I would wake and decide what time to start. Preferably from home. (Any mlm bots inbox me will be told to shove it).

Hairq · 12/10/2017 20:00

I'd love to be a teacher again but the return to work process to get skills up to date after years out is too expensive.

Shuggas, management consultant? Or fixer.

TellMeItsNotTrue · 12/10/2017 23:47

I have always wanted to work with children, I knew from an early age that the pay is rubbish but I always said I wouldn't mind because I would be doing what I loved. My dream was/is to have my own nursery, I even thought of so many names and designed logos when I was younger

Absolutely any job...I still think it would be something to do with children, maybe a play coordinator in hospitals, I know that I benefited from them when I was younger and as I got older I would watch and see the child forget about whatever was wrong with them for just a little while. I couldn't do this because I have a very weak immune system, so this would be my no boundary job, the immune system wouldn't matter in this hypothetical situation Smile so absolutely any job no limitations, I would do quite a normal job but one that makes such a difference to children during a difficult time in their life

blueshoes · 12/10/2017 23:58

I'd probably like being a crime detective, like Sherlock Holmes. Lots of little clues and sussing out people's motives and whether they are lying and what they might be hiding. Things which are said and things which are left unsaid.

Efnisien · 12/10/2017 23:59

Art therapist. My art has helped me mentally through challenging times.I'd love the chance to help the young and old through their challenging times on a creative level. It's a basic therapy that brings people together.

blueshoes · 13/10/2017 00:03

I'd probably be terrible at it in reality but maybe a nazi hunter or a bounty hunter. Would love to track war criminals down and bring them to justice. I can be pretty dogged.

DottyBlue2 · 13/10/2017 07:06

My grandfather was a Nazi hunter for the American Army. He took part in the Nuremburg Trials. He died in 1959 and my grandmother always blamed the stresses he encountered on his subsequent illness.

It's not a game blueshoes

FlukeSkyeRunner · 13/10/2017 07:08

Something on the isle of Skye, my favourite place. Sadly we live 500 miles away and there's no prospect of moving.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 13/10/2017 07:20

I'm a teacher and I like it but if I was going to change careers I think I'd go for a role where I helped vulnerable women like working for a women's charity.

Ikabod · 13/10/2017 10:26

I would retrain in all kinds of trades - painting & decorating, carpentry and maybe plumbing. I would renovate houses. My USPs would be: calling clients back, turning up on time and completing the job on time.

Or I'd run a craft school, offering courses in clothes making, furniture renovation, stuff like that. I've done a similar job in the past and really enjoyed it.

kateandme · 13/10/2017 11:55
