Dettol has launched a quiz on Mumsnet in partnership with their new ‘Protect like a Mother’ campaign. Have a go and let us know what you think of your result!

Here’s what Dettol has to say: “We know that a mother’s protection of her child is unconditional and just like an animal in the wild, she will do whatever it takes to create a safe environment for her family. We provide mums with that same unconditional protection for the whole family throughout the home.”

Any nature documentary will tell you that mothers in the wild are not to be crossed when it comes to their young. However, they all have their own individual styles of protection. Take the quiz and find out what type of animal mum you’re most like! Do you protect your child like an Elephant? Or are you more like a monkey? Or even a lion?! Have a go and come back here and let us know what you are. Do you agree with the result? Whatever kind of parent you turn out to be in the wild, we would love to hear what your thoughts are.

Everyone who posts on this thread, after taking the quiz will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

I'm an eagle parent. I think this is about right. I'm a childminder so always prepared and I encourage my children to be independent whilst being supportive.

Blahblahblueblee · 26/09/2017 15:44

I got lion! Rahhh! :)

spottypjs · 26/09/2017 15:46

Apparently, I'm a bear!?

tallandlong · 26/09/2017 15:58

lwhite0151 · 26/09/2017 15:59

Im a bear

funkyfreks · 26/09/2017 16:04

I'm the Mother Bear, very fitting for the way I treat my cubs, I'm pretty cool about the tumbling and falling but get in my space and up in my baby bears face and I can hurt xx

yummytummy · 26/09/2017 16:08

I'm a lion!! Cool with me

MillyVanilli222 · 26/09/2017 16:16

I got Lion! I think it's kinda accurate, I suppose!

Hairq · 26/09/2017 16:17

I'm a bear, which basically seems to be average - most of the other options for answers seemed a bit bizarre to me.

Kleptronic · 26/09/2017 16:18

I got eagle. Which is apt because if I want to distract I shout 'look there's an eagle!' and stare up at the sky/out of the window. Bloody worked too, the first few times, and now it's just funny.

NEMSparkle · 26/09/2017 16:27

Eagle 🦅 apparently the husband has just had a coughing fit laughing when I read him the description! 😏

QuietNinjaTardis · 26/09/2017 16:32

Elephant! What a bizarre quiz.

user1471449805 · 26/09/2017 16:37

I got eagle, because I'm always prepared - ha ha ha!

sophiefx · 26/09/2017 16:44

I'm an eagle!! Gotta keep an eye on your little ones. Who knows who is around these days..

MummyBtothree · 26/09/2017 16:50

Bear! ❤

gamerpigeon · 26/09/2017 17:25

I got eagle 🦅 is that a good or bad thing?!

sweetdiversion1 · 26/09/2017 17:42

I'm a bear. Was actually worried I give the kids too much credit and freedom when I was answering the questions.

GriseldaChop · 26/09/2017 18:22

Apparently I'm an elephant! Not sure I agree as I do often forget!

willothewisp17 · 26/09/2017 18:23

Spices001 · 26/09/2017 18:30

kennythekangaroo · 26/09/2017 18:50

why12345 · 26/09/2017 18:50

mummymummums · 26/09/2017 18:52

I'm an Eagle mum - I think that's mostly right from the description except I'm not as organised as it says!

honeyandginger48 · 26/09/2017 18:56

I'm a bear!

Shireslass · 26/09/2017 19:00

I got Bear! A popular answer. If I am honest I probably gave the answers I aspire to.
Trying to not be a cotton wool mum.
