We know many Mumsnetters swear by their Lidl finds - both everyday items and more unusual ones.

We’d love for you to share the gems you’ve discovered there with the rest of MN. Maybe you’re crazy about their chocolate, love their laundry liquid or prize their peppers? Perhaps you stumbled upon an item once that you now always pop in the basket. We all know what treasures are to be found on the middle aisle of wonder - what’s the best thing you’ve ever picked up there?

Please post them on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get £100 worth of Lidl vouchers (note the winner will be sent 4 x £25 vouchers, one voucher can be redeemed per transaction).

Thanks and good luck

Passata and mushy peas

Sleepysausage · 10/09/2017 22:23

Nappies and wipes!

Emmap12 · 10/09/2017 22:39

I love the flowers from Lidl, they last for ages and are such a bargain.

TellMeItsNotTrue · 10/09/2017 23:07

The bakery is our favourite section, I have to try not to go in there when I'm hungry because it's tempting enough when I'm not! Can't say how long it stays fresh for Hmm no matter how much we buy it always seems to disappear in flash Grin

The Deluxe yoghurts - especially the new ones with a layer of fruit/jam. They are just amazing. They are the pinnacle of everything I love in a yoghurt. Other supermarkets seem to have abandoned the joy of yoghurt and replaced the sensual indulgence of taste with the asceticism of 0% fat. Why? Sad Yoghurt needs a bit of fat or it becomes a kind of liquid, chalky, self-mortification. Lidl, alone, is flying the flag for yoghurt as an earthly taste of heaven on a spoon.

Thank you.

I've come on this thread basically to beg you not to stop selling it. Really. Don't.

OK. So, having said that, I also agree with other posters who have listed the impossible-to-mis-cook chicken in a bag, the Christmas biscuits and confectionery, the special promotions (the stuffed vine leaves, sugar waffles, cherry jaffa cakes deserve a special mention), many of the wines (a Spanish wine we had a while ago was really lovely), the smoked salmon, rye bread, pickled herring with dill.

Those are all good.

But the yoghurt is special.

The deluxe range is superb and I love everything I've tried so far, I can also recommend the washing up liquid and cotton wool pads.

I always look forward to the week Pandoro goes on sale in the run-up to Christmas. Absolute bargain and completely delicious (particularly in a Pandoro bread-and-butter pudding with brandy butter on top!)

NerrSnerr · 11/09/2017 09:56

I like the Lidl shampoo. Lasts for ages and smells lovely :-)

BlooBagoo · 11/09/2017 10:51

Will try not to create a full on book of my favourites as I could waffle on for a while. Blush

In the bakery, either the cheese twists or the goats cheese and pesto focaccia are a lovely treat.

The fresh baby plum tomatoes are amazing. They never make it into a meal here, just get eaten straight away.

The melt in the middle fish cakes are so nice.

If you like Mugshots then I think the Lidl versions are much nicer and are ready to eat sooner, without having crunchy bits like Mugshots always seem to have for me. Great when on the go.

The kids love their Neo biscuits (just like Oreos).

And my special treat when I'm in is their champagne. £10 a bottle, and tastes lovely! Have taken it to a few dinner parties and events and always goes down well and looks like it would have cost more than it did.

The wheat bisks are identical to the real thing. Marble cake is amazing and dairy free!!

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 11/09/2017 11:12

This summer I have been very impressed by the quality of Lidl's clothes. I bought several linen tops. They washed well, looked and felt special and were very reasonably priced Smile

Ollivander84 · 11/09/2017 11:41

The loose salted almonds. And the protein bread rolls are amazing, really filling too

torthecatlady · 11/09/2017 13:33

The bakery is fantastic!! It smells amazing and tastes just as good! Those doughnuts are great!

Belmo · 11/09/2017 13:59

I looooove the frozen Camembert. Yum yum yum. With lingonberry dip. Making me hungry just thinking about it!

Scoleah · 11/09/2017 14:10

Their sesame seed crispbread is Lush, Formil washing detergent & the croissants!

JoGodfray · 11/09/2017 14:18

The rich milk chocolate with hazelnuts. YUM

Oblomov17 · 11/09/2017 15:31

A lot of the things listed here, I can never find!! Angry

roofio87 · 11/09/2017 16:12

I love all their own brand products, you'd never know the difference. I really like the no added sugar museli. But the nest has to be the bakery department! Theyre donuts and muffins are so nice. My dh loves the protein rolls too!

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 11/09/2017 16:29

Hortus spiced gin (the one with the orange label). All you need now is to start selling a good tonic water to go with it!

ButterflyOfFreedom · 11/09/2017 16:33

The fruit & veg - great quality & value.
What's not to like?!

Whenisitbedtime · 11/09/2017 17:01

I love Lidl ❤️
If I had to choose one product out of the many, many that are excellent value it would be the Strawberry Crisp cereal. It is divine!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 11/09/2017 17:31

The vine tomatoes
The unsalted butter
The bags of raw nuts
Hortus gin

EthelBeavers · 11/09/2017 17:45

The dry French cider. It's only ever in twice a year and you have to be like a ninja to get your hands on it. It's spectacular wonderful stuff. Please stock it more often!

sweir1 · 11/09/2017 17:57

I love the belgian beer!
