We know many Mumsnetters swear by their Lidl finds - both everyday items and more unusual ones.

We’d love for you to share the gems you’ve discovered there with the rest of MN. Maybe you’re crazy about their chocolate, love their laundry liquid or prize their peppers? Perhaps you stumbled upon an item once that you now always pop in the basket. We all know what treasures are to be found on the middle aisle of wonder - what’s the best thing you’ve ever picked up there?

Please post them on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get £100 worth of Lidl vouchers (note the winner will be sent 4 x £25 vouchers, one voucher can be redeemed per transaction).

Thanks and good luck

The oilve oil (both normal and extra virgin), brown sugar. Both items are worth a detour trip. And I love the weekly fruit or veg offers

onitlikeacarbonnet · 13/09/2017 13:10

The hortus gin is lovely especially the summer edition. Lush! I prefer it to some premium gins. Hoping there will be a special winter version too.

We also love the short, fat blue and white tubs of Greek style yoghurt with honey and coconut. We probably go through 4 tubs a week between me and 2 dc.

The cold meat and deli products are also excellent quality. Peppadew peppers stuffed with feta are so delicious, the tub can only be bought very occasionally as I can very easily eat it in one go and not realise.

The Belgian chocolate seashells - yummy!
And perfume, Suddenly Mademoiselle I think it's called. It's a Chanel dupe - fab!

Tika77 · 13/09/2017 14:23

The Dhal crisps. My favorite healty junk food.

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 13/09/2017 14:40

We love the big tubs of Greek yoghurt and bags of frozen berries. Mix it all together for kids desserts instead of buying the sugary ones. Bargain!

the pink sprinkle doughnuts from the bakery are a big hit here

when in spain we found some stripy "zebra" doughnuts... DS aged 3 would like to start a one man campaign to bring them to the uk please!

sleepyMe12 · 13/09/2017 22:39

The chocolate Irish cream I had last Christmas.
£7.99 if I remember correctly.

oliveoyl72 · 13/09/2017 22:52

LOADS of things, top 3 for me are - Turkish Delight (chocolate bar), pre-cooked salmon fillet portions with cracked black pepper, and the coffee & walnut cake.

My other half goes mad for the scotch morning rolls from the fresh bakery.

I love Lidl.

KittyKat88 · 13/09/2017 23:13

I love the fresh bread and cakes section - everything there is so yum!!! One of the nicest 'finds' was some wafer biscuits made by Manner that my mum bought me and my sis as children (30 years ago) as a treat. I was beyond excited to discover them in my local Lidl store recently!! I also love the kids clothing as it is always well made and affordable.

LastMangoInPeckham · 14/09/2017 04:28

Nappies: great value and as good as any branded ones
Bread
Almonds

Also love fact that things don't get moved around too much in our local store, means we can get from door to checkout in sub 30 mins.

Walt at the checkout however...😂

userinfinity · 14/09/2017 07:44

We love the fresh bakery produce, can't come out without something from there. The packaged pain au chocolates are lovely for a quick, handy snack. The Cien shower gels are so cheap and smell great. Recently tried their kids wipes in a melon flavour, again were really cheap and have a fun melon smell that the kids love

lynmilne65 · 14/09/2017 08:08

Can you make 'proper'gravy with this and not need Nasty Granules xHmm

OutComeTheWolves · 14/09/2017 08:10

Easily their pain aux raisins. There's a lidl near my work and having one of those most days as a 'second breakfast ' is pretty much the highlight of my day!

lynmilne65 · 14/09/2017 08:12

specloos Translate please !

Orangepear · 14/09/2017 10:03

My dad loves their olive oil - he says it's the best oil you can buy anywhere (even Italy!).

margaritasbythesea · 14/09/2017 10:19

The Lepel Rioja is great, and their traditional ham is the favourite ham of all the family.

2014newme · 14/09/2017 10:26

Ginger nuts! So spicy with good crunch
Free range chicken
Prosecco
The children's snack packs of mini cucumbers, peppers, radishes etc
Fresh tiger bread

user1483808257 · 14/09/2017 10:33

The muesli is amazing. 50% fruit and nut and only £1.69.

Plus the organic baby food is a bargain.

kennythekangaroo · 14/09/2017 10:44

I love the breakfast foods- great muesli, really nice jam and DD loves the brioche/croissants.

CommonFishDiseases · 14/09/2017 11:38

I love the very good value coffee machine pods that taste great!

TalkinBoutNuthin · 14/09/2017 12:29

The toffee almond is my guilty pleasure which I sneak into my trolley, and is only for me! And I second the stuffed vine leaves. Yummm.

I found some super snuggly blankets, a lovely blue colour with white stars, a few weeks ago that are a great size, big enough to completely wrap up in. My DSs adore them and I'm hoping they will be great snuggle blankets for in front of the TV etc in winter. They were so snuggly that I picked up a pink one for myself. (Knowing that being pink they wouldn't be quite as likely to pinch it!)

mishknight · 14/09/2017 14:00

Love their Prosecco, cheap price tag but tastes as good as the rest. #getmorethanyoupayfor

CamperVamp · 14/09/2017 14:32
