We know many Mumsnetters swear by their Lidl finds - both everyday items and more unusual ones.

We’d love for you to share the gems you’ve discovered there with the rest of MN. Maybe you’re crazy about their chocolate, love their laundry liquid or prize their peppers? Perhaps you stumbled upon an item once that you now always pop in the basket. We all know what treasures are to be found on the middle aisle of wonder - what’s the best thing you’ve ever picked up there?

Please post them on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get £100 worth of Lidl vouchers (note the winner will be sent 4 x £25 vouchers, one voucher can be redeemed per transaction).

Thanks and good luck

I've found some amazing wine and spirits deals in Lidl - great for stocking up for a big family Christmas!!

emmmaaa26 · 12/09/2017 16:04

There chocolate cookies are a must have!

ChorusLine69 · 12/09/2017 17:00

Coconut Greek yoghurt is the best I've ever eaten!

allthingsred · 12/09/2017 18:31

I really like the lidl prosecco.
My kids love the croissants & the huge tub of yougart think it's milbona brand.
Then my partner enjoys the cheese melts & dips.

Blahblahblueblee · 12/09/2017 20:03

The bakery pesto focaccias are amazing!!
The chocolate is also amazing :)

andbabymakesthree · 12/09/2017 20:33

The fresh bakery cheese twists

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 12/09/2017 20:41

Ooh and their frozen paella. Huge pieces of chicken and fish. Mussels and prawns. Yummy 😋

Etymology23 · 12/09/2017 20:49

Lidl dishwasher tablets, lidl W5 limescale remover, lidl plasters and my lidl hairdryer. I also love their pesto, tomato and goats' cheese focaccia.

daffodilbrain · 12/09/2017 22:24

I bought the best pasta sauce I've ever had last Xmas out of the de luxe range. Can't find it again!

purplevamp · 12/09/2017 22:25

Their pastries are so yummy and really cheap too! I get some for a treat on Fridays after work. Also when they have their offers on they sometimes do the footlong hotdogs. Very tasty and they are only 99p.

Ida3456 · 12/09/2017 22:31

Once or twice a month we have their ready made lasagne - it's the only ready meal I ever buy but it is seriously yum and easy when we've had a busy day.

I like Lidl pizza (there is one with chicken, ham and rocket - I think - that is good).

Kids love the 'tiger' yoghurts.

scrivette · 12/09/2017 22:32

The fresh olive bread - I may have eaten a whole one in my own one day. It's amazing.

When DS was 2 I bought a raincoat and trousers from there - he still wears them at age 6, they are brilliant.

sbruin1122 · 12/09/2017 22:50

Cloudy apple juice!

Diamondsandpears · 12/09/2017 23:09

The olives for me

Florida123 · 13/09/2017 06:12

I found a fantastic black fleece the other day that is perfect for the recent (changeable) weather. Love it. My mum liked it so much, she went straight out to buy one too.

MrsGotobed · 13/09/2017 09:07

Chocolate, chocolate and chocolate Smile

Such good prices and a great variety - with nuts, with fruit, with crispy bits, milk, dark, white...... honestly, it's fantastic.

When using chocolate in recipes don't bother with nasty "cooking" chocolate from elsewhere , it's cheaper (and nicer) to buy real chocolate at Lidl

biffyboom · 13/09/2017 10:27

The fresh bakery.
Seriously good raisin swirl (not sure on name) and cheese twists, which I've just eaten Grin

MoreProseccoNow · 13/09/2017 11:09

I love the Greek yoghurt with honey and coconut - absolutely delicious!

And the yellow Doussy fabric conditioner has a lovely scent which really lasts.

I was a dedicated Sainsbury's shopper of 20 years plus, at now a convert to Lidl.

I just wish they sold brioche with chocolate chips in - that's the only way thing I have to buy elsewhere.

Blizy · 13/09/2017 11:16

I love the nappies!

TimandGinger · 13/09/2017 11:33

The frozen macaroons from the French weeks are delicious. Great buys are also the nappies, chocolate raisins, frozen petit pois, smoked salmon and nuts.

FinallyHere · 13/09/2017 11:50

The three different kinds of champagne, each with a different price point.

We keep having to try all three, as we can't decide which tastes best. Very useful lesson, in how our usual taste expectations are influenced by brand, rather than actual flavour. Very enjoyable to drink, too.

FinallyHere · 13/09/2017 11:51

Oh, and the lovely, lovely german style gingerbread and marzipan which arrives around October, and sells out pretty quickly. I have never managed to buy enough in one shop. Tend to get more weekly til they run out. Sugh.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 13/09/2017 12:00

I love Lidl's Christmas food range. I always go there to stock up on stollen and gingerbread. The fudge is also divine but my favourite are the marzipan and praline chocolate bars. So good! They could do with being about half the size though as they are MASSIVE

mummyto2boys01 · 13/09/2017 12:23

Their Toujours XXL Baby Wipes are better than the branded wipes i've used in the past, and fab value for money too! :)

polarbear33 · 13/09/2017 12:47

Off the top of my head.....Packs of Edam cheese - big slices and much cheaper than major supermarkets.
We also love their packs of sliced chorizo, yoghurts and Apple juice and of course the bakery. The packs of sweet chilli whole crisps are good, in fact all their snack/crisps are excellent value. Love their toothpaste and both flavours of the kids toothpaste (orange and fruity flavoured. Not my cup of tea but youngest likes them so that is a WIN)

We avoid their milk though - I find it goes off quite quickly and before the best before date too sometimes. But I can live with hat as often have to pick up milk on the hoof every couple of days anyway.
