We know many Mumsnetters swear by their Lidl finds - both everyday items and more unusual ones.

We’d love for you to share the gems you’ve discovered there with the rest of MN. Maybe you’re crazy about their chocolate, love their laundry liquid or prize their peppers? Perhaps you stumbled upon an item once that you now always pop in the basket. We all know what treasures are to be found on the middle aisle of wonder - what’s the best thing you’ve ever picked up there?

Please post them on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get £100 worth of Lidl vouchers (note the winner will be sent 4 x £25 vouchers, one voucher can be redeemed per transaction).

Thanks and good luck

Ooh where to start I live Lidl. We love the crisps, in store bakery, fruit and veg. Lidl sells the only ham I will eat (I'm very fussy with ham). My kids love those yogurts that come in a pouch 75p for 4 and perfect for packed lunches. Cereal is great as well. The chocolate omg the chocolate is to die for and is sooo cheap. I recommend Lidl nappies to anyone who will listen as they are much better than the leading brands. The wine especially when the offers are on. Then there's the specials. My son has a pair of Lidl school shoes that cost £4.99. £4.99! I ah e loads of bits and bobs out away for xmas that I have found in the specials and put away. Love Lidl so glad I have one on the doorstep.

The Australian Shiraz Wine. Under £4 a bottle and better than a lot of more expensive wines.

We love Lidl 😃 TheGin, tastes just as good as luxury brands for a fraction of the price. It is a must have for an evening entertaining.

The berry muesli tastes better than the branded version & ds likes it too.

I have also recently bought a pair of gym pants, they are perfect fit& easy to wash. Much prefer to the high end alternatives

frozen cheescakes are great

BaconAndBees · 11/09/2017 23:10

As a family we eat so much more fresh fruit and vegetables since our local Lidl opened. Really good value. I love looking at my trolley as I go round as it looks like 'proper food' - much less processed than other supermarkets.

Love the olives, sun dried tomatoes, tinned fish, prepared salads. The floor wipes are huge, washing up liquid smells lovely and the dark chocolate is amazing.

SirNiallDementia · 12/09/2017 00:26

Love the bakery section, everything I've had from there has been lush!

TotalUnknown · 12/09/2017 06:38

It has to be Inflate-a-Babe. A baby snowsuit that was so well-made that it was worn by all my dc in turn, and then passed on to other families. We called it Inflate-a-Babe because it made the baby look like a little balloon.

I love the big bars of Lidl chocolate, it's chunky and delicious and as far as I'm aware no palm oil.

Justchillaxing · 12/09/2017 07:00

I love their bread! Especially the nice dark bread, but everything I've tried so far has been lovely.

SophieGiroux · 12/09/2017 07:04

The maternity dresses they have at the moment are amazing and only £7.99. Leggings good too as no seam up the middle of the bump.

Missing the wholemeal wraps and the crayfish that they used to stock though!

carolineandbaby · 12/09/2017 07:07

I found in the centre aisle the other day a pink heated electric back warmer. It is so soft and has really relieved my lower back pain. It is literally the best thing I've bought all year.

MummyBtothree · 12/09/2017 07:14

We like the lovely fresh fruit & vegetables, all the fresh bread & pastries & sponge scourers for washing up Smile

defineme · 12/09/2017 07:44

The Greek week feta puffs...tiropeta? I could pretend I was on a Greek island, delicious!

BonjourMinou · 12/09/2017 08:47

Lidl toujours pull ups are fab

I bought a couple of maternity dresses there yesterday - for £8 each!

Pads of coloured paper - my 2 love choosing which colour sheet to use for their stickers or artwork. My kitchen gallery looks very jolly!

The chocolate. Yum.

FoofFighter · 12/09/2017 08:49

Not much we've tried from Lidl that we haven't liked - family faves are

the malt loaf which is very much like the market leader

Large bags of crisps esp the lightly salted

Coconut and vanilla fat free yogurts

Gnarly fox beer

BonjourMinou · 12/09/2017 08:49

Oh and the Caesar salad in a bag and frozen potato wedges! I'd better stop now Grin

kateandme · 12/09/2017 08:58

obviously it varies but sometimes you can nab some amazing clothes items from there.vest tops in the past have been fab and a hoodie type.get the right week and you get some great finds
the paella is fab. and some of the soups.
also if you have people coming round grab some of their fresh bread to keep them happy.so fresh and nice.

Hairq · 12/09/2017 09:24

Lidl's Rich Chocolate is my favourite chocolate ever. I always pick up a bar if I'm in one.

LiDLrichardsPistachioSack · 12/09/2017 09:32

The specialty pack of green grapes that taste like candy floss! Heavenly!

Great nappies, the best selection of nuts for a good price, and best of all, the excellent vegetables. I love Lidl! (As you can tell by my user name)

badgermum · 12/09/2017 11:52

I once picked up an Axe from the middle aisle as part of a garden care special buy range and it encourage my OH to install a wood burner which in turn has brought down our heating costs . . . The best lidl purchase I made

MarcoPolo7 · 12/09/2017 13:30

Their rainbow trout is fabulous quality, fresh and always tasty. Definitely worth a visit to stock up.

ohlittlepea · 12/09/2017 13:37

The stuffed vine leaves are incredible! We have loved them for summer picnics :). The veg and fruit in children friendly packaging is inspired :). Love a Lidl bit of Lidl ♥

strawberrisc · 12/09/2017 14:17

Potato is my favourite food and their potato salad is sublime. It outranks every other!

babybat · 12/09/2017 14:44

Nappies and wipes - much better value than other brands I've tried.
The kalamata olive oil in a can that they sell during Greek Week - it's really good as a salad dressing/finishing oil.
The little bottles of 'aperitivo' drink from Italian week - like alcohol-free Campari, lovely if you're not drinking alcohol.
Everything from Bavarian week, but particularly Weisswurst (veal and pork sausage), Leberkase (like meatloaf) and Kasekraner (hotdogs filled with cheese), beer and sweet mustard.

Their Greek yogurt is ace, as are the Peppadew peppers filled with cream cheese. Love all of the continental meats we've tried, and their smoked and fresh fish is very good value.

RubyWinterstorm · 12/09/2017 14:51

my gem is when they have Italian week, and they do a minestrone soup (in a tin )Italiamo I think it is called. It is such a treat, and I don't normally like any tinned soup!

Another one is paprika crisps!
