To help celebrate dads everywhere this Father’s Day, the team at Google would love to hear your tales of how your dad or your children's dad claims to know EVERYTHING, or at least thinks they do Grin.

Please share your stories of all the amazing things your dad or your child’s dad knows (or things they claim to know how to do).

The team at Google say “Google Home is a hands-free smart speaker powered by the Google Assistant, and it may just save your dad or your child’s dad’s blushes this Father’s Day. Ask it questions. Get real-time answers for the whole family, including the latest on weather, traffic, sports, finance, local businesses and more. It's your own Google, always ready to help”.

Below is a video about Google Home:

Every MNer who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

There are three of us in our marriage, myself, my husband and Google. An everyday conversation will usually always result in grabbing the laptop and Googling whatever it is we are talking about, Google is always the peacemaker and settles the debate to one of our satisfaction.

My dad thinks he knows everything there is to know about getting a better deal than me on things even though he lives over 200 miles away from me and has no idea what shops we have here!

My dad loves sharing his knowledge so much, I've picked up the bad habit of 'educating' people on things they couldn't care less about. Blush

I've always thought my Dad knew pretty much everything and could fix anything!

My dad's an expert on science. You can ask him pretty much anything and he will explain how and why it happens. Usually with diagrams.

Okey! Maybe he is not that familiar with technology but reads a lot. Sometimes he can amaze me with masses of information and great advice he gives me. Apparently housework and childcare is so easy with modern equipment.

My Dad knows all sorts of technical stuff - however explains it all to me in technical terms.... crank shafts, levers...means nothing to me. I smile and nod and try to look interested, totally clueless!

Our dad says he knows everything about diy but lots of his work looks really bad, we just don't want to tell him.

He also baked couple of times, the cake was a disaster (as he doesn't like following recipes), he would not admit it's not good and even asked me to take some to work for my colleagues. I told him they would laugh at me :-)

The combination of a smart phone and Google has not been good for dh. A conversation round the diner table where once we'd spend time chatting and debating can now be "finished" instantly just by the phone coming out. Don't think he realises that it was the talking that was the fun.

My other half, father to our children knows how to make some great dens inside for the children. If the children come and ask me something i dont know the answer to, like skmething general knowledge. Rather than google it I will say ask your dad, and he will know the answer 9 out of 10 times.
He does think though that he can assemble eveything without using the instructions. Faie enough if its something simple, but he even does it with the simple things. When he assembled our childrens trampoline, he had a quick glance at the instructions at the beginning and didnt thiNk he needed to follow them. He ended up doing it wrong, putting the sides on the wrong way round, so they were leaning in instead of out but as he'd put all the screws and bolts in, it was possible to get them back out so we just had to leave it that way. Now i supervise, Making sure anytime hes assembling anything, he is using the instructions!

My dad does know everything about sport! Honestly I am sure that I could ask about the most obscure fact about a 1980's darts match or something and he would come back with who won it, in how many darts and who was commentating! Amazing!

My Grandad would never let you go to an expert before he had had a good go himself, with knowledge gleaned from diy books. As a result the house was full of Heath Robinson type contraptions, including one for cleaning windows made out of an old broom and a hosepipe. Drove grandma mad but we loved it!

I'm a propert lawyer, worked in the property industry for a decade. Yet when I came to buy my first house my dad didn't trust my judgement at all!! He kept questioning everything about it. Drove me round the bend.

Thankfully when he came to see the house after I bought it he was actually very impressed. I just quietly said "I told you so" under my breath Grin

Don't think it's just a Dad thing - all men know everything don't they? My Dad, my brother, my husband, my son...

My Dad was the youngest paramedic in Buckinghamshire, and so I hero-worshipped him as he was so beloved and well known in our home town. Because of this, I believed everything he said...he was my God, my Hero, he knew all there ever was to know forever n ever, and so, when I was 8 back in '88, I invited my friends to come round my house, and hear a song my OWN DAD had written, and sent off to Cliff Richard to be recorded!! I was so excited... The song was called 'Carrie' (my name) and, as were listening to it, my Mum came upstairs. She asked what we were doing, I told her that we were listening to a song about me that Dad had written, and she burst out laughing....
I knew then I would never fully trust another thing any man said...ever, and despite this, he still claims to have written it for me lol.

My son's Dad knows everything about DIY & has every conceivable tool to do a job. If he hasn't he will go out and buy it. I must admit that when he does do a job he does it properly and is always spot on with his high standards.

My dad is a world authority in (wait for it) caravans. Wouldn't be too bad but he insists on telling everyone about said knowledge and makes spreadsheets comparing all the different types.

My Dad knows everything about money. I am currently getting lectured as I spend more money than I have. My sister who is the complete opposite of me is being lectured into starting to spend money as he is worrying that she will have too much when she retires. How my Dad knows the details of our bank accounts....who knows?????

My DC's dad thinks he knows everything. When anything goes wrong with whatever he is doing it is somebody else's fault.

My dad used to know everything... He's not fully up to date with technology now, but he still knows an incredible amount. At school he would research obscure words and weave them in to his essays to challenge his teachers vocab.

My Dad knows everything. He's a psychopath. I haven't seen him for four years. It was hard as he was my hero, but actually was incredibly abusive, hiding behind my mum's volatile abuse. Ask him anything and he will give you an answer that is not to be questioned.
