To help celebrate dads everywhere this Father’s Day, the team at Google would love to hear your tales of how your dad or your children's dad claims to know EVERYTHING, or at least thinks they do Grin.

Please share your stories of all the amazing things your dad or your child’s dad knows (or things they claim to know how to do).

The team at Google say “Google Home is a hands-free smart speaker powered by the Google Assistant, and it may just save your dad or your child’s dad’s blushes this Father’s Day. Ask it questions. Get real-time answers for the whole family, including the latest on weather, traffic, sports, finance, local businesses and more. It's your own Google, always ready to help”.

Below is a video about Google Home:

Every MNer who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

My dad amazed me as a child as he could always solve a problem/fix anything as long as there were books available on it from the library. One of the reasons I find it difficult to trust/find a reliable tradesman now is they never seem to fix things as well as my dad.

My dad knows everything about diy and fixing things!

It's just a male thing to think they know everything when sometimes they don't.

Dad used to pretend he knew everything about cars and machinery. Didn't always work if the car broke down though!

I write on behalf of my older girls who would agree their dad does know everything: experts on cars, careers knowledge, geographical advisory, organiser and planner, but where he really excels is in knowing how to embarrass them - he can really pick his moments!

Thankfully my dad knows an awful lot about DIY. My partner isn't very hands on and wasn't taught how to do the simplest things (like change a fuse or put up a shelf), so luckily my dad is always on hand to help out when needed.

My grandad is stubborn and always thinks he knows best, he will tell you what you should have done or how he would have done it and so we've learnt along the way that you plant the seed and wait for him to let him think things were his own idea and then we get things right and he still thinks he knows everything - win win

My Dad knows everything, or at least he claims to. When he watches DIY shows he says he can do all of what they do apparently. Watching football? He'd be better than Messi. The Island with Bear Grylls? He could live on that island all by himself and thrive. I'm pretty sure he would think he could single handedly build a space rocket and go to Mars haha. I love him anyway! :)

My dad is a proper man's man. Instructions? What do you need them for!?

My lovely dad has always been a bit of a know it all (probably where I get it from) but every since he got a smart phone and can now access Wikipedia he is almost unbearable fact checking every little fact all the time to the point it is almost impossible to have a conversation with him without him checking up on something. Love him to death though.

he does know a lot. Anything DIY, anything mechanical., he's your man. He tried to carry on that bravado about tech because 'he used to work in computing'. Yeah, a few decades ago. He knows nothing about it though and i often have to step in to be the teacher.

My dad likes to think that he is always up-to-date with the latest bands and music stars. Not that long ago he was very pleased to tell us he had discovered the next big indie band. We all waited in anticipation only to be advised it was the Killers!! We were quick to tell him they had been around for a while and were pretty well known!

My Dad knows more things than I've forgotten. He has had more life experiences and a vast amount of knowledge on many subjects. That's why my kids love him. He tells them stories and he always has an answer every time they ask him something.

My dad is definitely the source of all knowledge and even if he doesn't know the answer he will always to his best to find out and help.

My DC's dad (my husband) seems to think he knows everything, simply because he is eleven years my senior so therefore has more life experience.....Hmm

I can't wait for my OH to put his know it all dad skills to use (our baby is 14 weeks 😀) he does an awful lot of research and tries his hand at anything and is very successful 99% of the time.
Even my dad comes to him for advice 😊

My Dad seems to know the weather better than anything else. He never ever listens to the forecast, and if I ever say something like, "ooh, looks like rain" he will tell me either "yes" and when or "nah it's not going to rain". He is always, always right about it.
He's even accurately predicated snow a few times Shock

My DH swears he knows everything, but I know better Wink . He is quite clever though which comes in very useful for helping the children with their homework.
