Featuring a strong and spirited hero, Disney’s new film, Moana, is now available to watch as often and as many times as your DC likes, without having to worry about your proximity to a DVD player. So, inspired by Moana herself, and to celebrate the digital release of new film, Disney want to hear about the strong heroines who inspire your DCs.

Disney has said: “Did you know you can already download and keep Disney’s Moana from a variety of digital stores including Sky Store and iTunes. With great music, lots of laughs and a kick-ass heroine, Moana is a great movie for the whole family and will get you in the mood for summer. You can enjoy it on TV with the family or take it with you on your phone, tablet, laptop to keep the kids entertained while you are all out and about. The Blu-ray ™ and DVD are available on Monday 3rd April.”

Now Disney want to hear about the kick-ass heroines in your lives. Maybe it’s a teacher, a friend, a celebrity or - obvious choice - their Mum! From the everyday, to the extraordinary, anyone can be a heroine, so ask your DCs about the strong women in their lives and see who they come up with.

Everyone who posts their DCs answers on the thread below will be entered into a prize draw for one of five surprise Disney toy sets or a £250 iTunes voucher.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

My son said - Grandma is the strongest woman I know. She looks after Grandad who needs oxygen to breathe and does lots of fun things with me like baking.

aggga8 · 31/03/2017 13:10

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 31/03/2017 13:54

My best friend is a university lecturer, she is an honourary Auntie to my two DDs and is a great example of working hard and achieving your dreams - she is also a great Auntie and always gives great and thoughtful gifts (such as a book of poetry she loved as a child) as well as spending quality time with them.

My older DD loves Moana and has seen it at the cinema 5 times! It's a great movie. We have all been singing the songs.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 31/03/2017 16:47

Aw, my DC said me!
Because ' I go work, drive the car, cook nice food, read good stories and give big hugs'!
They are only 2 & 4! Smile

It's my MIL. I swear she is like iron woman, in a good way.

She lost her husband 5 years ago and now lives alone but she doesn't grieve for the life she lost, she has found joy in new things and is truly inspirational. She is 70 years old, goes to keep fit, rubs tykondo (sp) classes and loves life. Of course she misses her husband, my dear FIL, but she doesn't let it hold her back from living and enjoying the time she has left without him. She is brave.

My dds heros are pretty much my best friend. They are an emergency nurse, a dr of geology, a dr of marine biology, a paramedic, a police officer, a social worker and two teachers.
I'm so proud my kids have been raised by this community of public sector everyday heroes. To them it's the women they know that do the really important jobs.

My very shy DD says that the woman she looks up to is Dove Cameron as she inspires her to have confidence in her abilities as a dancer, and to follow her dreams. She loves that Dove is a strong and independent woman who has made her dreams come true and DD would love to follow in her footsteps.

I'm a kick ass mum who doesn't let anyone get the better of me, especially White Van Drivers who always cut me up on the road and try to intimidate me! it not going to happen. I may be petite but I can stand up for myself. I tell my children to always be brave and not let other people be mean to them

georgedawes · 01/04/2017 12:49

My 6 year old says the strongest woman she knows is her Auntie because she lifts heavy carpets at work (!)

cazzzie987 · 01/04/2017 12:57

My Mum, she works seven days a week and brought me up single handed. She has been through so many major illnesses and never complains, just gets on with it and carries on working hard. She is an inspiration.

debbiew21 · 01/04/2017 13:46

My daughter said me and I said her. Because she isn't afraid to stand out from the crowd and stand up and be counted. At her age I was always trying to fit in.

JingleJangleBell · 01/04/2017 13:54

My daughter says her role model is me because I go to work and look after her and daddy. My DP has mental health problems.

glenka · 01/04/2017 14:16

My mum because she brought us up so well.

shellywkd · 01/04/2017 14:23

Ha ha my daughter is a massive Marvel fan so she loves the Black Widow. She is strong, clever and is a massive role model to her.

janeyf1 · 01/04/2017 14:34

My mum is Supermum because she is always helping others - babysitting 4 energetic nieces, walking little ones to school in all weathers, does shopping for frail friends and helps the needy. And of course she never phones in sick!

footdust · 01/04/2017 14:43

My daughter loves Hermonie in Harry Potter as she is clever and studious but also incredibly loyal to her friends.

littleme96 · 01/04/2017 14:46

Really want to see Moana!

My 6 year old son said "both nannas" and my 8 year old daughter said "her class teacher". They are lucky to have many strong women in their lives.

LeeR1985 · 01/04/2017 14:48

My daughter LOVES wonder woman. She's obsessed with her, has a few different outfits, loads of t-shirts and loads of toys. She says she wants to beat up bad people like wonder woman when she's older haha

barbsbarbs · 01/04/2017 15:00

My eldest daughter says that she is inspired by vera rubin. my daughter is 15 and has decided she wants to study astrophyics at uni and her inspiration was vera rubin. she says its a male dominated role and she wants to prove that women can do it too!

worriedmum46 · 01/04/2017 15:16

My daughter thinks her grandma is the strongest lady she knows. Because grandad died and she has had to look after three children and does all the gardening and decorating that daddy's normally do.

spottypjs · 01/04/2017 15:19

The GB womens hockey team!

hayleyjw29 · 01/04/2017 15:33

definatly nanny!

lizd31 · 01/04/2017 15:42

My sister Karen is my heroine as she cares full time for our parents. Mum has Alzheimer's & Dad has had a stroke so it's not easy for her. I'm disabled myself & live 130 miles away from them so can't do what she does. She never has a minute for herself but never once complains although I know how stressed she is.

rachelmi · 01/04/2017 16:22

My dd thought long and hard and came up with..................................................ELSA!!!
