Co-op wants to know how you would make your mother’s day? - £300 voucher to be won NOW CLOSED

To celebrate Mother’s Day, Co-op wants to find out what would make your mother’s day this coming Sunday. Maybe she’s a Mum with simple tastes, and a card or bunch of flowers will suffice to make her really happy? Or perhaps you’re going all out this year, inviting her around for a meal and a day spent with the family. If you’re taking a more creative approach, perhaps you’ll be making her gifts by yourself, or just planning a day together for some one-on-one time with you - maybe brunch and the cinema? As a mum, tell us what would make your day extra special?

Here’s what Co-op has to say: “This Mother’s Day we want everyone to think about their mum and how to make it really personal and special to her. To not only buy the usual expected mother’s day gifts, but to really think about what makes your mum happy. Because only when you really know your mum can you really make it her day.”

Whatever it is that you’re going to do to make your mother’s day really special, Co-op wants to know. Please share your thoughts below - everyone who posts will be entered into a prize draw and one MNer will win a £300 Co-op vouchers.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

A spa day and Afternoon Tea with lots of prosecco is perfect for me

I always ask my Mum what she would most like to do on Mother's Day and she always has the same answer. After the usual flowers and cards we bring her fish and chips from her favourite chippy, which is a 12 mile drive away, but every year we oblige and it makes her day.

We were away in London for Mothers Day, so took my partner (DC's mum) to the Shard :-)

MrsDramaQueen · 01/04/2017 21:52

Just a day off work with my kids will be ideal. I love there little handmade gifts that they make with their dad, while I'm at work.

For me I would have loved a card or present - instead I was ignored so I did the housework!

My lovely Mum lives many miles away, sadly we weren't able to make it down see her this Mother's Day :( However.. I did send a stonking card & LO helped me design a photo mug for her featuring lots of pics of her & her gorgeous grandson!
I always remember making cards for Mum when I was younger & wish I had made the time to do it this year, handmade is so much nicer :)
My LO wrote his car out all by himself, which made me ridiculously proud! He also made me a beautiful heart collage :)

For mothers day it was a lie-in, a cup of tea in bed, and my husband cooked a lovely Sunday roast. Very relaxing!

mamof3boys · 01/04/2017 22:07

My mother isn't interested in 'things' as such, it's her grandchildren that mean the most to her so I would go or a homemade gift from them as she'd appreciate that far more than something I bought.

pootler · 01/04/2017 22:43

My mum never wants presents. She's always on a diet. Thinks flowers are wasteful. Doesn't like jewelry. And she'd be offended if you bought her anything that had world's best mum written on it.

What she really likes though, is shopping. But I hate shopping. And our schedules rarely match up so that we can go together.

But this year, I cleared a Saturday, and took her to Ikea. Bought her a cup of tea and a £2 iPad stand and she was made up. :)

This year, we decided to cook for my mom for once, as she always cooks the Sunday roast for us and has never had a year off. So it was a nice change for us all.

For myself, Mothers Day would be made special with breakfast in bed and a cute card xx

I think my mum would really appreciate her Mother's Day card arriving on time for once. I posted it 10 days ago and it still hasn't arrived!

fazkin · 01/04/2017 23:57

My mum enjoys nothing more than some special girly time with her daughters and grand daughters.

beckyinman · 02/04/2017 00:03

A day where I can chill. go out for lunch and have the other half deal with packed lunches and washing uniforms!

clareycat · 02/04/2017 00:13

123julie321 · 02/04/2017 01:17

A simple breakfast in bed of fresh hot homemade pancakes and a hot creamy sugary coffee, with my babas cuddled up beside me is all I need

lolamia91 · 02/04/2017 01:35

Andbabymakesthree · 02/04/2017 07:31

I just wanted a day without my children being at each others throats. It didn't happen!

izbiz1988 · 02/04/2017 07:44

My mum lives in the Lake District (we're in Manchester), so I organised a meal so that she could spend some quality time with her daughters and grandchildren - I know that time is priceless to her! :)

shroney · 02/04/2017 09:13

A gourmet hamper of goodies that my mum loves such as tea, jams and biscuits went down a treat and I got breakfast in bed and a big box of chocolates.

kittykomp · 02/04/2017 10:30

just spending time together is enough :)

AR2012 · 02/04/2017 10:54

A lie in and a cooked breakfast

iut044 · 02/04/2017 12:29

Marg2k8 · 02/04/2017 15:12

My Mum is sadly no longer with us. My children got me a lovely photo montage spelling out 'MUM'.
