Co-op wants to know how you would make your mother’s day? - £300 voucher to be won NOW CLOSED

To celebrate Mother’s Day, Co-op wants to find out what would make your mother’s day this coming Sunday. Maybe she’s a Mum with simple tastes, and a card or bunch of flowers will suffice to make her really happy? Or perhaps you’re going all out this year, inviting her around for a meal and a day spent with the family. If you’re taking a more creative approach, perhaps you’ll be making her gifts by yourself, or just planning a day together for some one-on-one time with you - maybe brunch and the cinema? As a mum, tell us what would make your day extra special?

Here’s what Co-op has to say: “This Mother’s Day we want everyone to think about their mum and how to make it really personal and special to her. To not only buy the usual expected mother’s day gifts, but to really think about what makes your mum happy. Because only when you really know your mum can you really make it her day.”

Whatever it is that you’re going to do to make your mother’s day really special, Co-op wants to know. Please share your thoughts below - everyone who posts will be entered into a prize draw and one MNer will win a £300 Co-op vouchers.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

I brought my mums granddaughter around. We bought her a big bunch of flowers and made her a nice lunch.

mothers day is fun, the one day of the year i get breakfast in bed and total peace all day, this year i plan to take them all out for a family walk to the waterfall and then a carvery at our local restaurant

My mum likes being taken out for the day so for Mother's Day I took her to Champagne Afternoon tea in London which was accompanied by a pianist. My Mum loves the piano so I booked a table right next to it.

A handmade card and a kiss make the day special

I bought my mum a next gift card to treat herself to some new clothes, some flowers and we went out for an indian meal. It was lovely :)

My Mum is quite easy to please and it is all about the presents for her! Luckily for my purse, they aren't too expensive!

I prefer experiences that we can all enjoy and spending quality time together. A small gift is appreciated, but something that we can do as a family is my favourite - breakfast/lunch out is always nice, but this year we went to the cinema.

Once you have children you really cherish and appreciate your own mother so I try to make a fuss over her. This year I treated her to a laptop because her old computer had broken.

What I like is time to read and drink a cup of tea and home made card

We had a lovely family day together on Mother's Day

my mum has a very sweet tooth. there is a new dessert placed opened in our town and we took her there for mothers day then we went home and baked cookies with the kids though my mum ate most of them!

maryandbuzz1 · 01/04/2017 15:19

My mum had breakfast in bed to start and then gifts of flowers and chocolates. We then took her out for lunch.

hayleyjw29 · 01/04/2017 15:19

mothers day is all about family, mummy having a lie in and breakfast in bed....then a nice family lunch..relaxing afternoon then a nice hot candle lit bubble bath with a very large glass of wine!

GruffaloPants · 01/04/2017 15:25

Nothing out of the ordinary for Mother's Day to be honest (visit, card and flowers), but something simple like going out for lunch or taking my daughters to the park really makes my mums day.

As she lives in Southern France (I am French(), the most I can hope for is a good long Skype gossip ... until we see her in the summer, that is

If Mums were flowers I'd always pick mine
She's the best of the bunch like a well matured wine
Sweet, kind & selfless she can't do enough
Even though her life is so terribly tough
She suffers from Alzheimers so her memory’s hampered
So she truly deserves to be positively pampered
She may be 84 but she's got glamour & style
The best Mum in the world who always makes me smile
She's always the one on whom I can depend
Not only my Mum but my very best friend

For Mother's Day, we went for afternoon tea and it was lovely. Wonderful for us all to be together and enjoy some yummy treats. Nothing makes me happier on Mother's Day than watching everyone enjoy themselves....oh, and cake!

My mum loves walking so we will all go to Salcombe and have a tea in a hotel or café after! Plus the dog will have a great day out too!

sophiefx · 01/04/2017 16:44

For mothers day, I treated my mum to a breakfast in a local pub and we spent the day together shopping and enjoying the lovely sun!

grannybiker · 01/04/2017 17:38

I'm a great believer in it being the presence of loved ones more than their presents that makes any occasion special ;)

emmav6 · 01/04/2017 18:33

we don't do expensive gifts, my mum loves a card with thoughtful words and a day with her grandchildren :)

Alexandra87 · 01/04/2017 18:40

Perfect day for me would be a day off from everything pal

Rfsev1 · 01/04/2017 18:54

My mum was treated to a homemade afternoon tea, with her favourite cucumber sandwiches and cherry scones

farhanac · 01/04/2017 19:01

Spa weekend to pay back just a tiny bit of the care she has given everyone else

tabbaz123 · 01/04/2017 19:05

My mother gave up chocolate VOLUNTARILY in support of my fathers diagnosis of diabetes. She loves chocolate but will not eat it in front of my father or indeed have any in the house. So this mothers day I took her for a chocolate tea! I arranged for a chocolate tea as opposed to a cream tea...

cocochips · 01/04/2017 19:34

Breakfast in bed would be perfect for me

nettymay · 01/04/2017 19:45

My Mum passed away a couple of years ago but for Mothers Day we always delivered Daffodils to all the neighbours and the local church.
She was always greeted by the village children as 'Mrs Daffodil'. We take loads of daffs to her grave - and remember her kindness
