Lidl know that some of us prefer spending Valentine’s Day at home to venturing out into packed restaurants with hearts everywhere during a freezing February. Lidl have everything in store for the perfect night in, offering all you need for a French-themed dinner to gifts and bottles of bubbly - and they would love to hear how would you spend your dream V-day at home.

What’s the perfect romantic meal for two? Do you prefer classic red roses or truffle chocolates? What’s your ideal tipple for the night? Do you open gifts while listening to romantic music or is a night on the sofa with a movie more your thing?

Whether you are spending Valentine's day with your significant other, having a ‘Galentines’ (girls only) day, or simply enjoying an evening for one, tell us how you’d spend your dream V-day at home. Everyone who posts below will be entered into a prize draw where 5 winners will each get £50 to spend in Lidl.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

Morning cuddle followed by a cooked breakfast. Walk in the fresh air with a stop in a country pub. Simple dinner with wine. Early to bed for another cuddle.

BingBongBingBong · 28/01/2017 17:49

Kids in bed, DH and I love steak and sweet potato chips, then something chocolatey for dessert. Lager or Jack Daniels for him, fizzy rosé or prosecco for me. We tend to just watch a film and relax.

Funkyferret · 28/01/2017 17:55

We're not really into a traditional, romantic Valentine's Day, but it would be great to have an evening together, cooking something new, cracking open a bottle of fizz then settling down on the sofa and catching up on a good film or box set.

My dream Valentine's-Day At Home would be to have the evening, just the two of us with a simple dinner, bottle of Champagne and a nice chat and cuddle

glennamy · 28/01/2017 18:11

A nice meal, some drinks, a film or box set, ALL phones off + no interruptions! :)

hiddenmichelle · 28/01/2017 18:11

Husband cooks and I have a bath. Feet up - glass of wine poured for me and a good film!

ataraxia · 28/01/2017 18:17

Evening for one on the cards, so simply an evening for two would be nice!

jacqui5366 · 28/01/2017 18:21

breakfast in bed would be a lovely start, (after 6am please) , a bath would be run for me, and then I would come down to Barry White on the radio.
I would be able to put my feet up and treat like a queen. My chauffeur would be there to take me to a country pub, and tell me once we are there that a room has been booked and my parents have the kids.

allsorts4444 · 28/01/2017 18:27

My Valentine's-Day At Home would be where we were all sat down on the sofa cwtched up and watching movies and ate good food. My son would not be having a tantrum because the ball that he threw was no longer in his hand, my husband would not be complaining that his knee hurt from training with his friends yesterday whilst I had taken care of our child all day and my dog would not be slobbering all over my floor. Oh but we can all dream can't we haha :)

Marg2k8 · 28/01/2017 18:27

Steak, Chips mushrooms, onion rings, peas, prosecco and flowers on the table.

hedera45 · 28/01/2017 19:01

We're quite bolshy when it comes to being told which day we have to conform to certain things, so any day could be special - ideally having a meal together (without my having to slave away in the kitchen) and being able to talk without one or other of the children interrupting.

21Catherine21 · 28/01/2017 19:02

My ideal valentines day starts with him treating me to a cup of tea in bed and in return I will cook him a fabulous meal in the evening, extra special if he buys me a nice piece of jewellery to say he loves me!

MSHGW · 28/01/2017 19:32

A home cooked meal, then snuggling up on the sofa to watch a film.

Maggiemoomoo17 · 28/01/2017 19:46

I would get the M&S meal for 2. Send the kids out and watch a good movie

hdh747 · 28/01/2017 19:51

A simple meal that we both enjoy. A massage each. A really good film. Some soppy music (vinyls of course). And chocolate. That should do it.

muppet1501 · 28/01/2017 19:56

For my bf to do all cleaning and make me a lovely dinner ha ha

vixxx666 · 28/01/2017 20:15

A lovely man to spend it with would be nice! Haha
A nice home cooked, candle lit meal with a bottle of bubbles.

Purplehonesty · 28/01/2017 20:16

Our v day dinner would be a nice steak or possibly some Turkish dishes.
Then it's an film in front of the fire and an early night.
Hopefully the kids will be staying with their aunt too!

sarah861421 · 28/01/2017 20:30

breakfast in bed, a long walk, a meal in a country pub, and then the theatre. perfect day

user1483229282 · 28/01/2017 20:44

My perfect Valentines night in would include a chilled seafood platter with a nice bottle of champagne followed by a classic romantic movie.

CatRash · 28/01/2017 20:46

Relaxing!! And not having to tell my DH off for being untidy would be a nice treat!

freefan · 28/01/2017 20:53

My perfect Valentines is a lovely home cooked meal with hubby and the kids , then a family DVD... kids off to bed all happy, crack open the bubbly and chocolates and a nice thriller on to round off the perfect day.

PussInCoutts · 28/01/2017 21:03

A home cooked meal for the family, and when the little ones fed and off to bed then a bubble bath with some bubbly. Then just enjoying some chocolate whilst making sure the traces are hidden by the morning! (So no jealousy from little ones.) Chatting and maybe watching a film or listening to some music.

liz1970 · 28/01/2017 21:06

A lovely meal prepared by us both and a nice couple of drinks :)

emmmaaa26 · 28/01/2017 21:18

Easy... dinner, movie and relaxing night.
