The New Year brings about thoughts of new beginnings, and Arla Big Milk would love to know what your intentions are for a fresh start for your family, to help them grow big this January.

What are your plans and aims for the new year? Are you determined to be a better planner of healthier, wholesome meals, to make sure your DC gets enough of the good stuff? Perhaps you’d like your family to practice better sleep hygiene or spend more time together? Maybe you’re looking forward to watching your children grow big and reach milestones like weaning, taking their first steps or learning to read by themselves?

Whatever your aims, share the great ideas you have for a new and fresh start for your family in 2017 with Arla Big Milk below. All who post a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draw.

I'm going to eat better and try not to get as stressed at the little things in life.

boobsie987 · 19/01/2017 22:49

I'm going to try and be more organized with my time

More exercise, more fruit and veg less alcohol

If we need to go out, we can only use the car if it takes more than 45 minutes to walk there.
Only eat meat/fish every other day.
Go to bed half an hour earlier than we have been doing.
Speak to or write to one friend or relative each weekend so I don't end up months later feeling guilty and unable to get in touch.

Nothing major really but I think together it should hopefully make life feel a little happier and healthier. Smile

Yes - like many on here I am determined to raise my fitness levels and I have started with a 2 mile 'march' every morning. BUT my main goal now is to start ticking off the items on the bucket list whilst I can :)

angiehoggett · 20/01/2017 22:13

My new regime is to prepare healthy breakfasts instead of skipping it

sweir1 · 21/01/2017 13:46

Doodygirl2009 · 21/01/2017 17:33

I want to eat healthier and try to drink water because I go months and moths without drinking plain water I want to show a good example to my children now they notice

bugzie92 · 22/01/2017 19:01

No more junk food / frozen food! we have even started making our own tomato sauces so have ditched the jar sauce! we feel much better for it, its funny how sluggish junk food can make you feel.

I still have a stone and a half of "baby weight" to lose, my baby is nearly 2!

I am making more of an effort to think before I shout at the kids. Trying to stay calm and explain why I am cross rather than a knee jerk shouting reaction.

Less screen time for the kids.

More sit down on the carpet and play with the kids time.

Less time on my phone. It makes me cross that I even need to list this.

Eat less crap. Not doing too well on this one.

Make a new baby :o)

I've started getting the whole family involved in cooking from fresh . Whether it's chopping or help going to the farmers market to pick fruit and veg . It's been fun so far

My fresh starts means I'm incorporating exercise, no matter how small, into my daily routine. Getting up 10mins earlier to stretch/meditate, lunchtime walks in work. It all adds up and makes me feel more positive and able to cope with stress better :-)
