The New Year brings about thoughts of new beginnings, and Arla Big Milk would love to know what your intentions are for a fresh start for your family, to help them grow big this January.

What are your plans and aims for the new year? Are you determined to be a better planner of healthier, wholesome meals, to make sure your DC gets enough of the good stuff? Perhaps you’d like your family to practice better sleep hygiene or spend more time together? Maybe you’re looking forward to watching your children grow big and reach milestones like weaning, taking their first steps or learning to read by themselves?

Whatever your aims, share the great ideas you have for a new and fresh start for your family in 2017 with Arla Big Milk below. All who post a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draw.

I'm determined to get out for walks with my son in the local parks

I WILL keep a closer eye on DS2's homework obligations, rather than leaving him to remember what's due in that very day.

I will also keep monitoring my bank account and never go overdrawn again ever ever ever. Really.

Under 20mins for 5k.

I try not to set New Years resolutions and try and change all year round. But it seemed like a good time to do this one.

We as a family are aiming to be MUCH more healthy this year - particularly with our diet. We'll be aiming to reduce the amount of processed food we eat, and increase the amount of fresh fruit and veg, and fresh fish in our diet. Looking forward to feeling the benefits!

Having just moved house & acquired a lovely size garden, my New Years resolution is to grow some of our own fruit & vegetables

Hopefully growing our family by having Dc2. I also want to try to tame my wild toddler and get him to walk nicely with me without running away, but I don't know how successful I will be with that!

I started a new job helping people, many with terminal illnesses to apply for benefits. I promised myself that whatever was wrong in my life, I had to focus on the fact I had my health and would be able to watch my son grow up. Treat everyday as if it was my last.

Eating, sleeping and exercising better is what I'm planning on doing. Basically just looking after ourselves a bit more.

Healthier eating. Less sweets. It's going pretty well, apart from the chocolate bear I inhaled yesterday. They were too much of a bargain!

I am determined to run further and faster this year! I am in a running club with some school mums, it is great fun we get to keep fit whilst chatting and having a giggle. Aiming to get up to 10k by the end of the month and maybe even run a half marathon in March!!! So exciting and scary at the same time. We are also swapping white rice for brown in a bid to eat better!

I have written down all my life goals and I'm reviewing them weekly with a friend.
It's made me feel like I am living the dream!

For DS: better evening routine which include time for a proper bath rather than a quick dip and tooth brushing needs to stop being optional.

Me: planning more interesting activities for DS rather than just playing with the same toys and going to the same park
Starting a conversation with the other parents at nursery rather than standing quietly in a corner and rushing away after dropping off DS
Not being late for work

I've probably got hundreds more but I tend to make new resolutions throughout the year too.

I've decided to take my mental health issues in hand and deal with them. Hopefully this will lead to better sleeping habit and healthy eating. My lad is continuing with his wrestling training

For the kids, I aim to encourage them to try more new foods instead of sticking with what is easy and I know they'll like.
For me, it is all about organisation. I want everything sorted out- the whole house. I want things we no longer need or want sent to charity shops or ebayed off and I want everything in appropriate findable storage.

I have made a start on this last year and can see the difference it has made already but by this time next year I want the whole lot done and sorted. I will never lose a child again because I will know exactly which box I've put him/her in!! (not really)

on January 13th (yes Friday the 13th) I graduated from my MSc course. This is the end of a journey that has taken me 5 years and 2 universities. I left school in 1979 and was told "Girls like you don't go to university" so started a low paid insecure job. I went to university in my mid-forties along side my children and graduated 5 years later from my MSc. 2017 is the year my second chance at a career starts

To be more organised and hopefully have a calmer household. DS and I have also agreed to bake something together each weekend.

My resolution is to be more alert, conscious and considerate. I feel my husband and I spend too much time on our phones trying to feel close to people who are far away whilst losing closeness to each other. So I'll be limiting time spent with technology. I want to have dinners round the table every night which will set a good example for our 8 month old.

I want to be more empathetic to others and try to be more forgiving of orher's mistakes. The world is so fast paced I want to slow down and appreciate the little things in life that really matter, people not things. I want to reduce my spending on things I don't really need to impress people I don't really like or who intimidate me.

I aim to be a better me.

Attempt to get our 1 year old to stay in his cot all night, and not give in at 4am every morning and bring him in to bed with us, as getting too big and wriggly and hogs the duvet!
