Happiness and a sort of calm after the excited expectation of getting the right toy and knowing it is over for another year. I also pray it is not something I have to put together as I am useless at that

ThemisA · 18/12/2016 18:00

Joy, excitement, pride and oh so grateful for everything we have

mooota1514 · 18/12/2016 18:02

By the time Christmas Day comes around I'm already fed up of it. We didn't do Chtistmas growing up, so at first it was an exciting novelty for me. But once I had dc I no longer enjoyed it. I don't need an excuse to give my dc presents, and I'd much rather spread presents out through the year. Christmas is just an orgy of presents/food/crowds and commercialism. And the day itself is an exercise in managing expectations.

Great to see them happy but I want them to realise, in time that 'things' have to be earnt.

MUMBOJUMBO55 · 18/12/2016 18:09

Lots of different thoughts and feelings flood through of many Christmases past and memories of those who are no longer with us.

rosemac6 · 18/12/2016 18:13

Joy. I love to watch his happy face

JoJoY · 18/12/2016 18:16

I love Christmas morning, watching my girls open their pressies and I love playing with them too!

last year I spent quite a lot of money on a Nintendo ds and a Pokemon game (which was what was asked from Father Christmas) I then went around the £1 shops for 'stocking fillers' which were there to bulk up the Santa sack. One of the small toys was small slinky which stole the show, going down the stairs, in and out was a outright favourite for only £1 - who knew (perhaps it's the unexpected which brings the most fun)

I just can't wait to see my Great niece's little face on Christmas morning when she opens all her presents. I've been so excited choosing them for her. I only get to see her 3 or 4 times a year so it's extra special when I do see her & I'm sure we'll have great fun playing with them all

jlwells1986 · 18/12/2016 18:28

I get so excited over christmas, knowing my kiddies will be so happy and excited themselves. I think christmas is even more enjoyable when you have children. The feeling of pure satisfaction that your making their christmas so magical, and of love and care when you see their little faces opening their presents. I can honestly say i have never seen them so excited, like they are christmas day

christinelucey · 18/12/2016 18:31

Im love to see my children with their toys and proud that my children are happy and healthy

twinklenicci · 18/12/2016 18:38

i love watching my kids, and their cousins on christmas day opening their new toys and games. The younger ones get so excited and never know what to play with first, as soon as they open the next one they want to play with it until they realise theres another :)

hiddenmichelle · 18/12/2016 18:43

I just love it - seeing their faces is worth all the rushing around before hand. But if I am honest there is always a bit of relief that the hard work is done!

I love it, it obviously makes me happy but it reminds me why I work in a job I hate. I don't do it for me, I do it to keep a roof over her head, put food on the table and buy her stuff she loves. It also reminds me how grateful I am as there are people in much worse situations than myself.

kittykomp · 18/12/2016 18:54

sheer and utter joy

janeyf1 · 18/12/2016 18:54

I find it fascinating, I love watching the delight and excitement in her eyes, getting so much out of her new toys. It makes me so happy

SSCRASE123 · 18/12/2016 18:55

A real sense of wonder and pleasure seeing them immersed in something new. I do though feel irked if I see them disregard a present without really appreciating it as that's not what we are all about.

littlemonkeyz · 18/12/2016 19:16

It's great fun to watch his excitement. I hope he grows up to be caring and help those that are less fortunate.

Ikea1234 · 18/12/2016 19:49

We love Christmas morning, and the excitement of my son wanting to go downstairs and open his presents under the tree after receiving his Santa stocking at the end of his bed. It really does remind me of my own childhood and waiting excitedly in the same way. The look on his face is just magical and makes all the hard work we have put in all year to pay for things like presents at Christmas worthwhile. The best feeling are presents that are surprise hits that we have chosen ourselves, as it makes me realise we really do know our son and what he loves.

Ida3456 · 18/12/2016 19:52

Love seeing them enjoying a surprise present.... Last year my 2 year old would have happily played for hours with the first toy she opened. I was so pleased that she liked it that much (she was too young to 'ask' for anything so it was a lucky guess). Still a favourite a year later! Needn't have bothered with all the other gifts....

alicecooper · 18/12/2016 19:53

love to see there faces when they get there new toys, it makes me so happy when they enjoy them

maryandbuzz1 · 18/12/2016 19:55

I love watching my son open his presents. His face is a delight. We are generous with presents but are careful not to go over the top. My favourite time to watch is when he opens the stocking at the bottom of his bed!

NauticalDisaster · 18/12/2016 20:06

My DC write letters to Father Christmas asking for one present each and it is great to see their little faces when they open that present on Christmas morning.

We have a very large family, lots of aunts and uncles from all sides, do I don't go overboard on presents myself and I suggest plenty of practical presents when family ask what they need/want.

fayesmummy · 18/12/2016 20:21

I love watching my children open presents and play with with new toys on Christmas day. It makes me happy knowing that they are happy. We don't buy too many though, a few toys each plus books and clothes.
