Fairy Non Bio is sponsoring the Mumsnet Talk App and in light of this they’d like to see what you have to talk about when it comes to your household washing schedule. Do you manage to get by on just a couple of loads a week or do four a day just to keep up with your kids? Perhaps you’re lucky enough to be able to send it all away to be done for you? Do you have a set day for each kind of washing load or just shove things in as they look like they might need doing? Whatever your washing schedule, let Fairy Non Bio know by sharing in a post below.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “Fairy Non Bio is good for anyone who wants a softer, more sensitive wash (that still leaves clothes clean!). Its gentle formula promises to be kind to both your clothes and your skin, and so it’s suitable for the whole family, no matter how many washes you’re doing each week.”

So, alongside the Fairy Non Bio sponsorship of the Mumsnet Talk App, they’d like you to talk about the washing schedule your household has. If you avidly check out Mumsnet's talk boards, you should download the app for yourself. It's free, and allows you to be part of the conversation wherever you are!

All those who post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draw!

Depends on how many vomits my little boy has had that day. I don't wash every day but on other days with do a few so id say7 or 8 a week with me, hubby and my son.

palomapaloma · 15/12/2016 22:30

Our household is 2 adults, a 4 year old and a very messy 2 year old. I do about 4 loads a week, 5 or 6 if I'm changing the beds. I'd say half the washing is for my daughter! Xmas Smile

Dippydiradoo · 15/12/2016 22:47

We do at least one coloured wash per day and 2 white washes per week.
Beds changed once a week
My DS plays lots of sports and my DD is a mucky pup

Itmustbemyage · 15/12/2016 22:54

Weekly
1 load of DH's work shirts - need to be done at a higher temp.
1 load of towels
2 loads dark coloured clothes
1 load light coloured clothes
1 load of bedding
Also 2 mixed loads from my oldest son who lives in his own flat but brings his washing home.
My washing loads probably about to increase greatly when my grandchild is born in February , my youngest son and his partner are expecting and they live with us.

Littlelegs19 · 15/12/2016 23:29

5-6 each week. Defiantly do at least 2 more than before now that our son is here!

passremarkable · 16/12/2016 08:24

3 yr old muddy adventure & baby with bad reflux means several outfit changes in a day. And that's just DH.
Machine on 2-3 times most days... maybe skip 1-2 days but then it just mounts up.

ThenBellaDidSomethingVeryKind · 16/12/2016 12:11

We're a family of 4 (incl a toddler and dc of school age). DH wears a shirt and tie for work (f/t) and there are 2 gym-goers and a swimmer in our household. I do at least 1 wash per day, alternating between whites and colours

VilootShesCute · 16/12/2016 13:43

Around 10. Unless there's been illness then there's LOAAAADS more. Sigh.

Mehfruittea · 16/12/2016 13:59

There are only 3 of us in the house. We do

4 x white wash (1 is a repeat with full on stain removal and boil wash in between)

3 x darks or colours. 1 will include stain removal/soaking etc

1 'extra' wash MIL puts on for me when she comes round. Includes all the things that got missed. Sock under the sofa, t towel left on microwave, bath towel left on the floor etc.

FreckledLeopard · 16/12/2016 16:58

There are three of us in the house: me, DP and my teenage DD. DD generates enormous amounts of laundry - she wears something for about ten minutes, then changes outfits and the clothes get put in the wash. It's ridiculous.

We probably do around seven to nine loads per week. Tights and underwear are the bane of my life and the whole house seems to be covered in bras, knickers and tights which get caught up around all other laundry.

I would give my right arm for some kind of magical laundry fairy.

Yummum19 · 16/12/2016 17:31

3 adults and 4yo DD in my household and I average out about a load every day.

DD comes home from school every day with a filthy uniform and even with extras I still feel like I'm continuously washing uniform Hmm

HalfpintPixie · 16/12/2016 20:38

4-5 loads, probably. One for bedding, one for towels and a few of clothes... it feels like more sometimes!

livingthegoodlife · 16/12/2016 21:25

2 adults, 3 children and occasionally 2 teenagers.

i do 2-3 loads - A DAY!!!

its all the school uniform, adult clothes and work wear, then there is between 5 to 7 beds to change (fortnightly), all the towels plus we have 4 sets of hand towels to change. I wash all the tea-towels several times a week. Plus floor mats, dog bed, rugs etc (all washed occasionally).

I find its the special stuff that adds the extra washes, so ill have at least one load of general wash and then suddenly i have 4 items of special care so i'll end up putting the machine on again!

plus i like to keep on top of it rather than hoarding it to keep the ironing pile small!

sippingginandlemon · 16/12/2016 22:08

Once a day, colour varies. I get through a lot of washing.

Rhubardandcustard · 17/12/2016 07:10

Just me and dd
2-3 colour loads
1-2 white loads

Probably more in the winter with muddy dog towels!

DartmoorDoughnut · 17/12/2016 10:52

Currently doing at least a load a day but we have a toddler and a newborn!

CointreauVersial · 17/12/2016 15:09

There are five of us in the family (DCs all teenagers).

I wash on Wednesdays and at the weekend. 2-3 loads midweek, and 3-4 at the weekend. This means it can all go on the drying rack and get dry before the next lot is done.

daisyduke66 · 17/12/2016 20:34

There's at least one wash a day in our home, sometimes two- tending to go on late afternoon each day.

Blaze6 · 17/12/2016 22:25

We do 4 or 5 washes a week! There's got to be an easier way to get clean clothing!!!

FurryTurnip · 18/12/2016 06:20

About 8-10 loads a week, which seems enormous when written down!

It's a combination of a 5 year old who is on reception class and comes home covered in paint, glue, whatever was for dinner, plus occasionally still wets himself.

Very sporty partner, runs daily, cycles, climbs and does martial arts.

And I love clean fresh bedding so probably wash that too often too!

pussinwellyboots · 18/12/2016 06:54

I do a wash most days so probably between 5 and 7 loads a week. Either whites/ darks or towels or bedding. I don't have a dryer though so it gets hung out around the house because of this I think twice about washing things at this time of year and will do more laundry in summer when I can get it dry easily (several loads on a sunny day).

chaplin1409 · 18/12/2016 07:38

There are 2 adults 4 children and 2 dogs in the house so we do at least 10 loads a week quite often more.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 18/12/2016 07:40

Darks, colours, whites, delicate darks, delicate lights or hand wash (I use a machine hand wash programme), reds, socks/boxers, bedding, towels.

So too many! I'm an avid sorter though as have too many items get grubby looking or ruined by binging everything in.

I feel like I'm ALWAYS sorting laundry!

GiraffesAndButterflies · 18/12/2016 08:07

Maybe 7 a week. The children keep me well supplied with stained/ heavily soiled / wet items, so keeping up with those and not letting them fester in the laundry basket is task enough.

kpdiscodancer · 18/12/2016 13:29

2 adults, 2 children
12 loads of washing a week (the kids are young and messy, I can generally only wear things once or they smell)
Now that I have just counted that up I want to scream! Going to show this to the husband who thinks I exaggerate how much time the laundry takes!
