Fairy Non Bio is sponsoring the Mumsnet Talk App and in light of this they’d like to see what you have to talk about when it comes to your household washing schedule. Do you manage to get by on just a couple of loads a week or do four a day just to keep up with your kids? Perhaps you’re lucky enough to be able to send it all away to be done for you? Do you have a set day for each kind of washing load or just shove things in as they look like they might need doing? Whatever your washing schedule, let Fairy Non Bio know by sharing in a post below.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “Fairy Non Bio is good for anyone who wants a softer, more sensitive wash (that still leaves clothes clean!). Its gentle formula promises to be kind to both your clothes and your skin, and so it’s suitable for the whole family, no matter how many washes you’re doing each week.”

So, alongside the Fairy Non Bio sponsorship of the Mumsnet Talk App, they’d like you to talk about the washing schedule your household has. If you avidly check out Mumsnet's talk boards, you should download the app for yourself. It's free, and allows you to be part of the conversation wherever you are!

All those who post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draw!

Two adults, 3dcs

I'd say 9-10 per week, done on my days off, so three days of doing three loads rather than spread out evenly over the week.

There's extra washes too, eg if anyone wets the bed (probably once every 8wks or so) thats an extra couple of loads. Or if we do a muddy walk etc.

My tumble dryer is my lifesaver as otherwise I'd have an entire house draped with wet washing

At least a load a day. Two loads every two-3 days. DD is in reusable nappies so this does add to it.

sleepwhatsleep · 15/12/2016 06:33

We have a 5 month old baby and two cats, one of which likes to vomit hairballs anywhere that is clean and fabric based.

Usually every other day I do one or two loads but I try to save white stuff to one side to do one or two loads in a week unless it's something we need.

toptomatoes · 15/12/2016 07:20

Probably 5 or 6 - most days. If it's a warm, sunny day, I'll get a couple of loads out.

pinkywink · 15/12/2016 07:36

We do 3 loads/week that's just for myself and DH. Expecting this to increase significantly once little one arrives in April.
Usually do
1 colours wash
1 lights and whites
1 towels and bedding

Gooseysgirl · 15/12/2016 07:38

Two adults and two DC age 3 and 5. About 9 loads per week, one load in the evenings on weekdays and two loads per day at the weekends to catch up on towels, bedding, wool clothing.

mellicauli · 15/12/2016 10:47

10 a week for 2 kids..3 x rugby kits a week, 3 x football kits a week, 1x scouts..it's a relentless wave of mud this time of year..

polkydot · 15/12/2016 11:14

There are three of us here full time, toddler, my husband and me, and my two step children, 11 and 13 part time. I tend to do a load a day or it starts pilling up. My husband contributes a lot as he's in the military, so there'a uniform, his own clothes and daily sports kit. New baby due in February to that'all bump it up!

BreconBeBuggered · 15/12/2016 11:21

Most of the times it's 3-4 loads a week for 2 adults and a teenager. If DH drives down to pick DS1 from his shared flat and kindly brings back his washing, I'd anticipate a good 3 loads in that set of 'luggage', then a wash every day while he's staying.Terrific.

turkeyboots · 15/12/2016 11:55

For 2 adults and 2 DC i do about 10 loads a week. One whites, lots of towels (another swimming parent here) and the rest mixed.

P1nkP0ppy · 15/12/2016 12:00

At the moment 3-4 loads a day and hoping my washing machine doesn't explode!
I'm doing laundry for my very poorly parents as well as my very sick SiL so it's on pretty much all day.

When it's just the two of us then probably 4-5 loads/week.

mumsnit · 15/12/2016 12:04

2 adults 2 kids

I do a load every 1-2 days on average. I have a small machine drum so I have to wash more often but in the winter I've got nowhere to dry clothes other than on radiators so smaller loads are easier to deal with.

gin4me · 15/12/2016 12:07

About 4 dark washes, 6 white/light coloured washes, 1-2 synthetic washes

Rosehips · 15/12/2016 12:13

1 load first thing every morning

Cambam2010 · 15/12/2016 13:31

Household of 2 adults and 1 child.
1 white load a week
1 bedding load a week
1 towels load a week
2 dark loads a week

queenoftheschoolrun · 15/12/2016 16:29

It feels like the washing machine is on constantly but probably 6-7 times a week.

stripyeyes · 15/12/2016 18:00

About 5 a week and there's 5 of us!

KVG82 · 15/12/2016 18:13

I think I average about 5-6 loads a week. I have a 4 month old baby but I'm pretty sure most of the washing is still my husbands!

CesareBorgiasUnicornMask · 15/12/2016 18:43

I procrastinate so can go ages without doing any... then panic that none of us have clean socks and do six loads in a day just to reduce the washing pile to normal levels Blush.

Hellmouth · 15/12/2016 19:28

I do a load per day, maybe two loads if I have skipped a day. Everything kind of gets thrown in together, unless something is new, then it gets washed separately to avoid colour running. This system has worked for me for years 99% of the time - I've only had one colour run incident! :D

Pigeonpea · 15/12/2016 19:59

We will most likely do 2-3 loads of laundry every other day

1 whites
1 dark
1 colours

I use non-bio
I mainly use the fast wash - 30 degrees takes 34 minutes and takes 8kg

2 adults, 1 child

I air dry - outdoors in the summer and in doors on airers in the winter/ rain

I always wash towels first thing of a morning, as they take longer to dry

sharmanda · 15/12/2016 20:47

I tend to do about five loads a week. As I work part time I tend to do two loads on a Wednesday while off work ( one load tends to be my children's clothes and one load myself and my husbands clothes), I wash all of our towels on a Thursday usually and I then do two washes on a Saturday which is usually the children's clothes and bedding and our clothes including work clothes so they are ready for work on the Monday.

lozengeoflove · 15/12/2016 20:50

1-2 loads per day. Sometimes 3. It depresses me to no end. All that ironing...

deadon · 15/12/2016 22:09

I do about 7 and there's only myself Dh and a one year old, although at the weekend I do more because I'm changing bedding and getting the build up of towels sorted!

TwinMummy30 · 15/12/2016 22:11

5-6 a week, this includes 2 loads on Saturdays.
