With Christmas around the corner, Homebase wants to know all about your festive favourites and the seasonal must-haves you just can’t live without.

Would Christmas without a tree not be Christmas at all? Have your baubles got to be a certain colour to fit in with the rest of the décor? And is there only one style of lighting you could ever have in your home?

Whatever’s essential to you this Christmas, visit homebase.co.uk and post a link below to the products you just can’t live without - and tell us why.

So for a chance to win a £300 Homebase voucher, simply take the survey and add a comment below.

Thanks and good luck,

For me fairy lights make christmas special - in the town they light up brightening the dark time of year, and on the tree they make it magic - imagine a tree without lights it just would not be the same. So my product i picked as a cant live without is these lights - which are colour changing! lovely - kids would love these and quite affordable at £10 - and you could use these for birthdays and other special occasions too not just christmas! www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/40-colour-changing-christmas-lights-370925

We could not do without a Christmas Tree - I love decorating it with the children and making new decorations with them throughout the Christmas season to add to it.

Gorgeous snowflake lights, I love these and a great price! I love cosy lights at Christmas!

Bandycoot · 26/11/2016 14:10

It has to be a real tree, a Norway spruce. It may shed needles but they are easily brushed up and only they have that Christmas tree scent.

MrsDramaQueen · 26/11/2016 14:14

There are so many things I like to have at Christmas that I couldn't do without. One is my scented candles it makes it feel christmasy and the other is batteries, because every toy needs them.

emmav6 · 26/11/2016 14:23

it's got to be the tree, the start of christmas for our family, the children count down the days to put it up

amyhalliday1 · 26/11/2016 15:07

Alcohol and mince pies !

Extension leads: www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/6-socket-13a-surge-protected-extension-lead---4m-251206 We always have lots of sets of lights around the house at Christmas and we wouldn't be able to do it without a few of these.

Couldn't be without the lights. I prefer warm white over bright white or coloured because it's just so much cosier. We hang them around the living room windows, and obviously wrap some around the tree, and it's just so homely and lovely. Plus it makes the presents look nicer under the tree.

I love a real Christmas tree. But one that keeps its needles is essential!

carolineandryanandseb · 26/11/2016 15:46

cheese!

I couldn't give anything up to do with Christmas. It's the time that you can let your hair down and indulge. New year is for giving things up. The one thing I can't do without though are my outdoor lights and these are lovely

www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/christmas-shop/christmas-tree-decorations/christmas-tree-decorations/macmillan-personalised-chalk-bauble-371952

Every year we pick a new decoration for the tree. This year it will be the Macmillan personalised bauble. Each year our boys can decorate their bauble and I'll take photos to see how they change. Plus with money going to a fabulous cancer charity, what more can you ask for? Smile

Dormouse1940 · 26/11/2016 16:20

OK, so i love the festive season and thought long and hard about this= what could I not live without: the inimitable scent of a real tree? sneaky tots of Bristol Cream Sherry? Those songs that get wheeled out every year that are painfully cheesy yet you secretly love? Family, friends, love for all and peace for all mankind?

And then I realised... for me, it's wrapping paper.
Really. I think I have a problem and I need to access some form of support group.
Despite having metres and metres of leftover paper from previous years, I can't resist buying more when I see something I love. I take too much enjoyment in wrapping gifts in personally selected paper, with an assortment of luxurious ribbons, bows, tags and toppers. It's something I really look forward to, so a Christmas without at least one evening of sitting in the warm glow of some gently twinkling fairy lights whilst i adorn beautifully wrapped packages would leave me utterly bereft I think!

I appreciate I am part of a minority with this: xmas wrapping seems to be something of a marmite issue!

Have to have a tree - this one is lovely www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/5ft-dew-drop-artificial-christmas-tree-369809

A stocking is also an essential in our household, even for the adults! I would love this one = www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/white-knitted-stocking-with-fur-trim-372565

Batteries!!! We always pre-buy loads to avoid any disapointment with toys that dont work on Xmas day!

MSHGW · 26/11/2016 17:14

I love tinsel. Sometimes I want to try a more sophisticated look for Christmas, but I always end up but adding lots of tinsel! www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/christmas-tree-tinsel-silver-mix---assorted-369939
