To celebrate Fairy Non Bio’s sponsorship of the Mumsnet Talk App, we’ve launched The Great Mumsnet Laundry Debate - as with all great Wink series, it's a three-parter. Part I was all about how often you wash your bed sheets and part II is about how much you wash your bra...

Bra washing can not only be time consuming but can also require a bit of brain power. First there’s the conundrum of how to wash them, then there’s how often to wash them. Do you put them on a gentle hand-wash setting with a delicate detergent? Do you put them in a mesh bag to protect the straps from getting caught up with other items? Perhaps you only put them in a machine with other light clothing so the elastic doesn’t get stretched by towels and jeans? Or maybe you simply bung them in with everything and put them on a 40C wash? The options can make your brain hurt. So how often do you wash your bra? Are you the kind of person who can’t wear a bra more than once? Or maybe you can wear it for a week?

Whatever your bra-washing process, share it with Fairy Non Bio in the thread below, and maybe even give us a live update from the Mumsnet Talk App as you’re waiting for the load to finish. If you avidly check out Mumsnet's talk boards, you should download the app for yourself. It's free, and allows you to be part of the conversation wherever you are!

All those who post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

In a delicates mesh bag. I do a colours and whites wash a couple of times a week and there is always one or two bras in there.

JoJoBaldwin · 27/11/2016 20:56

Mine get bunged in the machine on a 30c wash. No special treatment!

xenoyia6060 · 27/11/2016 21:07

I wash my bras after one wear. Bit like underwear. People get sweaty etc and you wouldn't wear your pants more than once lol

dragon60 · 27/11/2016 21:19

I'm very casual with my bra's they just go in the washing machine and then hang in the airing cupboard to dry. I suspect if they cost a lot of money I might be more careful, but I don't want fancy, frillyexpensive bras.

mamof3boys · 27/11/2016 21:20

I wash my bras weekly along with the rest of my wash. I've never thought to separate or use a mesh bag, I just throw them in with everything else.

samosh22 · 27/11/2016 21:23

Express wash

GruffaloPants · 27/11/2016 21:24

Put them in the wool,or silk cycle at 30. No special bag or anything!

Maclairey · 27/11/2016 21:25

Mine go in with the normal wash, I dont have time to handwash lingerie. I wash my bras every 3-4 wears. I take my bra off at home though and dont sleep in it so they are never dirty!

HawkeyeInConfusion · 27/11/2016 21:37

Chuck them in the normal wash along with everything else at 40 deg. Never bothered with a mesh bag. In theory, they get washed after 2-3 days.

amanda08 · 27/11/2016 21:51

I tend to wash my bras after 3 days wear and just chuck them in with the normal laundry

jessiecat33 · 27/11/2016 22:16

I just shove it in with the rest of the wash and hve never had a problem, touch wood x

RACHELSMITH45 · 27/11/2016 22:30

Probably wash bras after wearing for a couple of days. They go in my usual 40c washes. Don't dry in the dryer though, tend to use the maiden or if in a hurry - a radiator!!

fifimummy · 27/11/2016 22:41

Our washing "pile" is just inside the door of our tiny kitchen Blush
When I take my bra off in the evening, I very often chuck it on top of the mountain,.....it gets washed when it stays there long enough to get to the bottom!! anywhere up to 3 weeks Shock
Thing is, I can never find my others (bermuda triangle of kids!!!) so often just retrieve it off the top, & there starts a viscious cycle :P

Khaleesi1315 · 27/11/2016 23:06

Oh I'm so glad it's not just me I only actually wear a bra when I'm out of the house or have visitors 🙈and they get washed every few days I cloth bum so I already have separate washes to do so all the bras get shoved in a normal wash with other clothes and dried hanging on the airer but I would probably be a bit more careful if I had any expensive ones maybe one day 😂

VilootShesCute · 27/11/2016 23:50

I wash gym bras after each use. Every day bras twice a week.

VilootShesCute · 27/11/2016 23:51

On with like coloured items I must add.

lhlee62 · 28/11/2016 00:22

No special bags, but then they aren't expensive or particularly lacy. I would say once a week for normal wear and every time for sports bras on a normal 30 or 40 wash depending on the clothes and usage.

CMOTDibbler · 28/11/2016 01:22

I used to just chuck my bras in on a 40 wash, but the new washing machine has much more of an agitated wash and my bras have damaged a couple of items of clothing, so now they go in a bra bag and still get chucked in

Motherfuckers · 28/11/2016 03:54

I used to buy my bras in Rigby and Peller because my tits are huge and my back is tiny they were the only ones that fit properly, they were handwashed in unicorn tears. Now cheaper places sell my size so they just get thrown in the machine with anything. I do replace them regularly though, I would rather have a couple of basics that get replaced every 12 months, than 5 year old saggy bras.

Ntinyn · 28/11/2016 06:26

Change daily! Wash with similar colours / hand wash cycle per label

cistolic · 28/11/2016 06:29

I wash my bra every couple of days on a normal 40 degrees in a light coloured wash and they go in with everything else similar colours

finleypop · 28/11/2016 07:39

They always go in the main wash every 2/3 days

Snog · 28/11/2016 07:58

I do up the hooks and wash in a mesh bag with the rest of my washing, no special settings. Usually wear my bras twice or more before washing.

sisteroutlaw · 28/11/2016 08:33

I always intend to do a delicate wash but bras go in on a 40 with the rest of the wash. Fairy non bio liquid. I try to insert into a long shirt sleeve or clean pillow case before going in the drum to stop being misshapen. I suppose they're washed about once a week. Sports bras after each wear.

kittensmittens12 · 28/11/2016 08:50

About once a week
