My dd plays tea parties and uses nappies (clean!!) as sandwiches. She then distributes them all over the house so they turn up in the most unusual places (like the computer cupboard!)

Walked past dd's bedroom the other day (she's 3) and overheard her playing preschool teacher with all her "snugglies" (the soft toys/teddies), at the end the all had to sit nicely on the carpet then wait for their name to be called as their mummy was here, and as they went out, it was queenie the dog's birthday and her mummy had sent in some boxes of smarties, so they had to collect one each - they all said thank you nicely.

My Son likes to play houses. He was the Mummyi asked if he wanted a drink got his baby he lifted his top and said it was ok as he would give it milk from his "boobies".

My youngest DD puts on pop concerts and shows with her My Little Ponies and Barbies, then asks her brothers to come in with their Action Men and soldiers as 'security'!!! It's hilarious

My son once told me he had a baby in his tummy. When I asked if it was a boy or a girl, he told me it was a baby monkey. He kept this up for a few weeks.

Mine actually involves mega blocks! Bought a big tub and DH asked DD (who was 3 at the time) what he should build. She looked him in the eye and said "the history of Rome". Has become family legend.

Ds1 (aged 4) got changed into a grey top and joggers and lay down on the floor very quietly.

Me:ds1 are u OK
D's: silence
Me: ds1 what's up sweetie
D's: still silence
Me: ds1 talk to me please, what's up
D's: mum shhh I'm pretending to be concrete

When your 3 year old takes the baking stuff and sits by the mirror and you asks what she is doing and her reply is just putting my make up on mummy like you. I would not mind but I only wear lip gloss

DD used to come up with all sorts of grisly imaginary scenarios where DH and I perished, she was orphaned and had to fend for herself... I blame Disney movies!!

DS knew the main Star Wars characters long before he was old enough to watch any of the films/programmes. He therefore had to fill in the gaps from what he did know from CBeebies.

I think my personal favourite was the time when DS was Darth Vader delivering the post to Yoda (me), like some kind of inter-galatic postman.

Lol-ing at the history of Rome' and 'pretending to be concrete'. Mn so needs a like button.

Mine so far haven't come up with anything quite so inspired. If I think of anything I'll come back to it.

Little fairy used to have imaginary pets. She was 2/3 they came about dead and I had to revive them in the kitchen and they then lived down her top. We frequently lost them. Do you know how hard it is to find an imaginary monster?!?

My three year old is a robot or a rocket ship depends how he feels. He walks round saying I am A R O B O T or zooms round like a spacerocket.
My favourite has to be when my now 10 year old daughter Poppy was about two, she woke me up one morning patting me on the head telling me to be a hitopotamus mammy as she was playing zoos. I needed to lay still and wiggle my ears
8 years on i still cant wiggle my ears.

Whilst on holiday we went for a walk and spotted several lizards. She decided that one of them was her friend but we had to find his parents. For the next hour or so her entire conversation was about looking for the lizard parents & reuniting the family. We then apparently brought the whole Lizard family back to our hotel, where they played with the imaginary friend she had made who lived opposite our hotel and was doing a sleepover that night....
She also loves to play Drs and will often be her older sister's Dr, pretending to give her meds. But she kind of blows it when she says "It's time to go to sleep now. Night night, love you". Maybe the NHS should adopt her bedside manner - a little love might promote healing?

"She" = 5 yr old (at the time) - who also does happen to think she's the cat's mother. Or cat's babysitter...

I think the seriously depressing story around toilethead the cat was my favourite. It was a serious injury, he was not coming out of the vets any time soon and def not for Christmas.

DS: "Let's pretend you are a mummy and I am your child."
Me: "Er, OK."

My DS used many (a whole packet) of his baby sisters nappies to wrap on all his soft toys. They stayed on for less than half an hour before he proceeded taking the off and individually tying in nappy sacks. When I asked him what he was doing he said he was making stink bombs to throw at enemy aliens

My boy has a great imagination, he's only 3 but has been able to tell the most convincing stories for some time. My dad was picking him up from nursery and the girls asked him to give me a note so I could let them know our new address. My dad was completely bewildered by this and informed them we hadn't moved house recently. My son had told them all about a completely make believe house including the number of steps to the front door, what colour the door was and how he had a blue bedroom with dinosaurs instead of the cream room he has now. Apparently he'd been telling the girls all morning about his new house and had them totally fooled. I still have no idea what house he's talking about??

My DDs used to pretend that their toys had been naughty and would send them to the naughty step, then get them to say sorry and give them a cuddle - it was very cute!

My son once set up his playmobil pyramid then got the Dr who figure who travelled in the TARDIS money box back to ancient Egypt. There he met a cuddly towmater (from Disney Pixar Cars) who owned the pyramid. They had all kinds of adventures that day 😀

We'd had the guest bed out from under ds's bed, and all 3 dc had been playing under it. Ds gathered up various things from around the house, including a washing up bowl, a broom, a toothbrush and some shawls from the fancy dress box, and laboriously got them all up to his bedroom. There he instructed his older siblings "Get out, please, I have to paint the shop". Apparently it was a pet shop. When the other dc wanted to bring toys to be the pets, ds's reply was "Don't be silly! The pets here are real pets. Not pretend pets."

Once our boys they were playing a pirate game with a friend's daughter, the name of the game was "Captain Hook & the Virgin Mary" 😂

Oh, and after DS5 was born my DH found DS2 lying in bed, legs in the air while his 3 brothers helped him "give birth" to a large number of soft toys, each of which were lifted in the air after being "born". They were playing "Lion King in labour" 😂😂😂

When DD1 was about 4 she sat at the table colouring and suddenly pretended to answer the phone. She had some general chit chat and then told the caller she could come out for lunch but only a quick bite because she had soooo much work to do and was completely snowed under.

Still no idea where she got the expression snowed under from

DD2 is coming up for 2 and I can't wait till she starts making up little games for her toys

My youngest pretends to be a vet, treating all the animals for coughs, colds but mainly cuts which she sticks plasters on all her cuddly toys (which I struggle to get off!!!)
