Watching children grow up and learn to play in creative, interesting ways can be heart-warming, but also hilarious. MegaBloks would like to hear about the funniest scenarios your kids have come up with when they've been playing make believe.

Here’s what MegaBloks have to say: “Every parent wants what’s best for their children. They want to build them up, and so do we at Mega Bloks. In stacking tall towers, children learn to develop their creativity. In telling stories with characters, they’re exploring their imaginations. And in building make-believe worlds where they can be the hero, they’re also building up the confidence to be anything!”

So, whether you've eavesdropped on your kids copying something you've done in an uncannily accurate way or you’ve been gobsmacked by them coming up with something that wouldn't be out of place in a soap opera, share your children’s funniest imaginary play stories with MegaBloks below.

All those who post on the thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Toys R Us voucher.

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draw!

DD not DS!

allsorts4444 · 26/10/2016 11:33

My son is only 6 months old so imaginary play at this stage is basically playing peek-a-boo :) But I love it and can't wait to see his imagination grow as he does

maryandbuzz1 · 26/10/2016 11:36

My son loved making mud pies ...mud being mixed in the dips in the drain cover and the 'pies' being laid out down the path ready for visitors!

sarah861421 · 26/10/2016 12:17

My dh and dd used to go "shopping", whilst walking the dog down the lane. Different bushes and trees sold different products ( cars, zoo animals and milk mainly ) and she remembered these everytime she went despite a gap of weeks, and was always shocked that he didnt remember ( or care )

ThemisA · 26/10/2016 12:23

My son used to transform a pram into a ramming machine and simulate horrendous crashes and then turned up as traffic police to deal with the incident!

gamerwidow · 26/10/2016 12:28

We are always having to play pretend in out house. My DDs absolutely favourite game is for me to be "bad girl" and for her to tell me off.
I get to see all my discipline tricks used on me :)

I work from home so my little one has grown up listening to me answering the phone to customers...he often takes the phone and starts talking like his mummy...god forbid he ever picls it up when a customer is actually ringing through...that could be an interesting conversation lol!

iut044 · 26/10/2016 12:51

My son like playing as a knight hunting dragons .

finleypop · 26/10/2016 13:12

My son loved playing shops, he was always pointing out the best bargains he had on offer that day, BOGOF's & reduced to clear!

clairecymru · 26/10/2016 13:26

My son likes to play hide and seek but gives the game away by shouting I'M HIDING so he can easily be found.

Marg2k8 · 26/10/2016 13:26

My DD used to pretend she was a princess or a fairy. My DS used to pretend he was a power ranger.

glennamy · 26/10/2016 13:56

My now older DD use to make me play using the potty.... and yes it was not very comfortable... Youngest DD will not get me doing this again if she requests it in future! :)

devito92 · 26/10/2016 14:31

My DS used his tractor and trailer to haul pieces of wood from one end of the garden to the other, then a voice would say to move it back and so on

lhlee62 · 26/10/2016 14:59

My daughter had a sleep over with all of her (imaginary!) friends in her bed, she said it was very squashed in her bed as her friends Isabelle, Hello Kitty and Peppa were taking all the room. She told Peppa and Isabelle she'd have to sleep on the floor, but that it was okay as we were going on holiday the next day??

UpOnDown · 26/10/2016 15:31

I spent half an hour repeatedly pulling a Skye dog up an imaginary cliff by the lead, poor Skye!

Sid98 · 26/10/2016 16:00

My daughter dressed up as a superhero by using bedsheets and using a saucepan on her head

Mindfulofmuddle · 26/10/2016 16:09

Ds1 (now 8) has always been very imaginative and still loves imaginary play above all else. Since he was 2 he has run circles in the house, chattering to himself, making the odd explosion noise, chuckling and when you ask what he's doing the answer has always been 'thinking'!
Ds2 (3) can now be found following Ds1 around the house in circles, both of them chattering to themselves, imagining their latest favourite scenarios whilst they do laps of the sitting room. Ask them what they're up to and a chorus of 'thinking!' is the reply Grin

Larnipoo · 26/10/2016 16:28

We put the tent up in the garden and all Tommys plushes came out. We made a bed up, a campfire with crepe paper for flames, dinner using his play food. He absolutely loved it and we were out there for hours 😀

CowOnTheMoon · 26/10/2016 17:13

My ds (aged 2) said he wanted to build a tent. He went round looking for something he could use, he came back with one of my bras on his head and said it makes the best tent ever!Grin

sofaloafbanana · 26/10/2016 17:15

Daughter1: We're going to play "Curse of the Devil". You get to be the devil.
daughter2: Who are you.
Daughter 1: I'm Mr PotatoHead. We fight. I can pull out my eyes and throw them at you.
daughter2: Cool. What can I do?
Daughter1: I dunno. Mum! Can a devil pull out his eyes?
Me: WHAT?
Daughter1: Um, Mum, what's a devil?

VioletRoar · 26/10/2016 17:46

Ds2(7) and dd(1) have spent this week playing in a huge box from a delivery.

Ds- "we've been time travelling in there. We went to the Stone Age, then outer space. she's a great apprentice!"

IHaveAToiletBrush · 26/10/2016 18:05

My 4 year old dd is always a different animal, she is the same animal all day but it varies daily which one she is. The other morning she was a bee and buzzed all the way to school.

Lauzipop1 · 26/10/2016 18:13

DD1 was in her room pointing at her bed saying 'You need to stay there. I love you very much and you have to stay'. When I asked her who she was talking to she said Harry Styles was there and she had tied him to the bed so he couldn't leave her. I nearly choked laughing at her.

asuwere · 26/10/2016 18:22

My DS's were outside playing for ages, they came in and were still deep in their game about spies and missions and told DD all about their amazing headquarters. She went back out with them to get a tour: she came back in about 2 mins later looking less than impressed, stating "it's just a bush!". She isn't really very good at imagination games! LOL

vixxx666 · 26/10/2016 18:29

My boy was pretending his shoe was shrinking and he couldn't get it in "BLASTED BOOT I COMMAND YOU FIT ON MY FOOT".

He got the saying from a cartoon, I hadn't realised that at the time though and I laugh so much!
