The school summer holidays are a great time to share lots of wonderful moments with your children, and though the cost of exciting days out can really add up, they’re not the only way to have fun.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons would like you to share the joyful summer moments you’ve shared with your children which cost nothing.

This could be a water fight in the garden on a hot summer day, a trip to a local museum that you both really enjoyed or an impromptu picnic in the park. Have you found creative ways to have fun without the price tag? Whatever your joyful summer moments that cost nothing, share them with Cadbury below.

All those who post a comment below will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive a £265 Love2Shop voucher and a second winner will win a Merlin family ticket worth up to £200.

Thanks and good luck!

Additional information for Merlin prize: the winner will need to advise on the attraction they would like to visit and they will be sent a set of open dated tickets to use in 2016. The exception is Madame Tussauds in London where it gets very busy. Therefore, the winner will need to advise on three potential dates for their visit and Merlin will book them in in advance for one of those dates.

Going for a walk alongside our local canal and nature reserve. We saw ducks, geese and swans on the canal. Then later a large pike swimming in the water. We watched a little egret fishing for his lunch. It was a beautiful sunny day and the scenery was lovely.

Had a fab time doing simple things . . . playing endless Paw Patrol, baking, building dens (indoors and out), playdough, gardening - it's time and uninterrupted attention that children love the most.

Playing on the beach, going crabbing, doing the library reading challenge, sleepovers in a tent in the garden, our local pool do free swimming for locals once a week, picnic in the park, collecting shells & stones from the beach & painting them - these activities have saved us a fortune this Summer.

As a family we have gone to our local beach on several occasions which cost us nothing! Each of us in turn decided what one activity we would do when we arrive at the beach. It could be either rock pooling, drawing in the sand or football. It's great fun

The excitement of packing the cases and setting off on holiday early next morning - so much anticipation and wonderment of the experiences to come.
Crazy to say it, but this can be better than the holiday itself Grin

we are very lucky to have a woods right on our doorstep, I printed off a scavenger hunt list, got a basket out of the garden and off we went. We spend hours in there-and it cost nothing! More often than not these are the best days! of course we had a selfie or 5 along the way ;)

For the first time this year my 6 year old daughter took part in the library reading challenge. It cost nothing but the joy and pride she felt every time she finished a book and took it back to the library and then got her reward and ultimately her certificate has stayed with her the entire holiday. I am so proud of her enthusiasm for the challenge and what a great Idea it is to encourage children to read and use their local libraries. She didn't find it easy but she persevered and that has improved her confidence immensely and she found it fun! Fantastic idea all round, something free that parents and children can do together !

I think that a walk with the promise of a picnic at the end of it is the perfect way to spend the day. Children talk whilst they are walking and sometimes they will tell you things that are worrying them or concern them. You will all be closer at the end of the day
