We’ve been asked by Cadbury Buttons to find out about the everyday precious moments you share with your child, that fill you with joy.

So, what are your everyday shared moments of joy? Perhaps it's singing along in the car to a favourite tune or re-reading a favourite book together? Maybe it's watching a favourite movie together for the umpteenth time, or that last cuddle before they go to sleep?

Whatever your shared moments of joy are, please share them with Cadbury Buttons (and each other!) below. If you have any pictures of these moments, please feel free to share them below, we’d love to see them! All MNers who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Please note your posts and images may be included on Cadbury's pages on MN, their social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

The favourite bit of every day is snuggling up to read books together in the evening. Dh feeds the baby and ds1 and I read books out loud showing the pictures to ds2 once he's finished his bottle

Sleepysausage · 14/05/2016 08:16

Each milestone is moment of joy. Our daughters third tooth has just come through and she learnt to crawl, it's so exciting watching her grow and learn.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 14/05/2016 09:29

We sing along with the stereo really loud on the 10-mile car journey home from school every day. We have a special playlist of all the songs we really enjoy. DS2 even throws in the epic harmonies sometimes... It's like carpool karaoke for fools beginners Grin

Moment of joy is our bedtime stories time. Love seeing my eldest read to his baby sister and seeing them interact as well.

LostMyBaubles · 14/05/2016 10:17

My bitter sweet happy moments obv all revolve around my dc.

Each have their own personalities

my 5yr old ds has a lot of health problems (heart murmur, allergies to dairy, soya, nuts, fish, wheat and eggs, fed via gastrostomy feeding tube in his stomach, reflux, colitis, gut dysmotility hes had meningitis and sepetcmia as a baby, autistic and more problems) but he still manages to smile through all his pain and he still wants to go to school so he 'can be clever and normal'
even if his pain is 10/10 he will still stay in school. Ive attached a pic of his valentines day card he made for me and dh.

my middle ds is 2 and is very lovimg towards everyone he is the first to wake up and will come into our room and give me and dh a kiss and will say good morning love you. Thats always been his routine as we all used to sleep in a 1 bed flat and he'ddo it there too.

My youngest ds who is 1 is a little chatterbox! Hes in his own room now too and he will wake up and start shouting mama dadda morning downstairs bot bot lol.

My boys give me the strength I need. Just seeing them smile is my everyday happy moments. They are my everyday happy moments 💖

My 9 month old makes me melt when he puts his arms up in the air for a cuddle and then covers my face in dribbly open mouthed "kisses"

Cagliostro · 14/05/2016 12:45

I love how the first thing I see every morning is my DCs climbing on me to give me a kiss and cuddle.

My DS' laugh is just ridiculously cute - he's nearly 7 but has this toddler-style giggle that he's never grown out of, it's adorable. And whenever he laughs like that, DD (nearly 9) just looks at me and says 'my little brother is so cute' - it makes me so happy that they adore each other so much. :)

My eldest has cerebral palsy and autism. We waited almost eleven years to have a another child as we didn't know how well she (or indeed myself and DH) would be able to cope. Fast forward 14 months and I love seeing them play together. Littlest is one of the only people who can make eldest REALLY belly laugh and seeing her trying to learn her little sister how to walk is just humbling and wonderful

LifeIsGoodish · 14/05/2016 14:23

Late at night, when dh and I go upstairs to bed, we walk along the corridor going into each bedroom in turn. Kiss sleeping child goodnight, stroke hair, straighten/tuck in bedding, pick up teddies and pop back into bed, turn off nightlights.

Every night I feel blessed to have a child in each bedroom. And when dnephew stays, he gets the same treatment and I feel doubly blessed.

My moment of joy, something where i look at my daughter and think 'i produced you', feel immensely proud of her and then marvel at her while she slips into a world entirely of her own making is when she writes a new story and then gets ridiculously into it and starts telling me all about it- hands gesturing, slightly acting it out, rambling a mile a minute while making such sense and such nonsense at the same time. If i could bottle that feeling, i would dish it out every time i felt blue.

She's so determined to become an author so when she prints out her stories and starts creating pictures for her books (in the photos- her first book and her first picture book) i just melt, she's so determined for someone so little but when she's rambling a mile a minute i can remember that she's still just a little munchkin and i can stay in that bubble of her still being my baby girl.

There are so many! It's good to remind yourself of that when things feel difficult. Current favourite is family dance-a-thons in the car to cheesy pop music, even the 1 year olds join in Grin

GruffaloPants · 15/05/2016 10:04

DD lies on the floor and calls for DP shouting "Daddy, don't tickle me"! Until he.. Comes and tickles her. She laughs hysterically and then gets me to hold his arms so she can tickle him. I love it. She has such a happy, full-on laugh.

Lunar1 · 15/05/2016 11:17

Walking to school, they are so full of questions and observations. I love it, especially on a bright, sunny morning.

MrsWeasley · 15/05/2016 11:46

There are so many from my uni aged child ringing me to recommend a book or share my outrage at the Eurovision result Wink to my grandson who saw a missing cat poster and once I explained that the cat was missing - pointed at the photo and said 'there he is!' And there are the everyday moments when you child sits snuggled with a book (or as the get to teenagers share a funny you tube clip with you) or them leading you to the kitchen to where your secret stash of goodies are kept! Grin

2DC, both go to my work nursery. It's a 40 minute commute. DD (4) often takes it on herself to amuse DS (1), there are few things I love more than hearing her making funny noises so he laughs or tries to copy her!

Toomanycats99 · 15/05/2016 20:41

Today I had a lovely moment. My 8 year old wanted to make fairy cakes and after a moment of refusing agreed to allow her 4 year old sister to help. I was off putting washing away and the sound of them working together to make them and giggling away whilst licking the bowl was just lovely.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 15/05/2016 22:16

My dc are nearly 1 and nearly 4. The baby has been hard work, tbh. We adore him but he's into everything and has never been a fan of sleep!

My everyday moment of joy is each morning when my dd comes into our room and ds sees her and beams. I hope they always love each other this much.

CrapDIL · 15/05/2016 23:25

Ds is as absolute live wire - at 14 months he just doesn't stop from the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to sleep.

But my little moment of joy is when it's getting towards time for bed,, and he snuggles into me and he has his last bottle of the day; it's my chance to baby him and I'm loathe to give it up. I'm dreading the time when I don't do it any more as it's the one guaranteed time I'll get a cuddle during the day.

I'm sure that his moment of joy is getting up in the morning, when he realises that it's a new day and that he's got a full day of giggles and destruction ahead! Grin

glennamy · 16/05/2016 01:19

My most shared joy with DD just has to be when I make up stories at bedtime, they are simply priceless, even though i throw in really silly characters and situations and it makes her laugh (not ideal) but she usually drops off within 5 minutes... If I could pass on any advice to a parent then this would be it. She even asks me in the morning what the next part of the story is like and I always tell her she will have to wait for her bedtime that night. :)

ozbird1 · 16/05/2016 01:56

I like those quiet times on an evening when the big lights off and just the glow of the tv & the youngest comes in for a cuddle on the sofa - I could sit like that for hours.

squeezed · 16/05/2016 02:52

I've recently had dd2. Dd2 is so besotted with her and keeps saying thank you to me for her baby sister.

ricola1 · 16/05/2016 06:24

When their asleep and quiet!

WarmHugs · 16/05/2016 06:28

I love it when the DC jump in my bed in the morning. They are always warm and cuddly, and it sets me up for the day!
