We’ve been asked by Cadbury Buttons to find out about the everyday precious moments you share with your child, that fill you with joy.

So, what are your everyday shared moments of joy? Perhaps it's singing along in the car to a favourite tune or re-reading a favourite book together? Maybe it's watching a favourite movie together for the umpteenth time, or that last cuddle before they go to sleep?

Whatever your shared moments of joy are, please share them with Cadbury Buttons (and each other!) below. If you have any pictures of these moments, please feel free to share them below, we’d love to see them! All MNers who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Please note your posts and images may be included on Cadbury's pages on MN, their social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

My son's face when he finally cracks that difficult guitar piece. And cuddles with my dd first thing in the morning.

mummyzara2 · 11/05/2016 09:08

When my 3 are sat together all getting along helping, sharing and laughing those are really special moments where I watch and think wow I'm so lucky to have them, this is my family :)

RatOnnaStick · 11/05/2016 09:08

When I chase my children up the stairs at bedtime and they hide in the bathroom. One hides his head in the towels and the other is in the laundry bin and they both roar with laughter every time I 'find' them. It's a standing joke now.

When DS crashes out on the sofa or in the chair in a cafe after school. He still looks like a baby at the age of 4.5!

rupert23 · 11/05/2016 10:00

i love it when my son 9 who has autism starts humming to a song on the radio on the way to school. i always hum along too and he likes that. i feel happy as he doesnt speak on the way to school but if he hums along to a tune i think he will be ok when he gets in school

My shared moment of joy is having a bath with my DS. It is one of the only times that we are both fully focused on each other. I am not distracted by chores and he isn't glued to a screen. It gives us an opportunity to unwind together and is often the time when he will talk openly to me about any issues he has or if anything is worrying him. These opportunities will not last forever though as he is growing up fast.

Returning home and the look of excitement and amazement that you came back!

Ratbagcatbag · 11/05/2016 14:36

So many of these, but I always love that time when I've done bedtime, she's had stories and I've tucked her in bed, as I walk out I always say "love you to the moon and back" and she whisper back "love you to the moon and back mummy, sweet dreams" she's 3 and it absolutely melts me, no matter what the day has been like.

For me it's the joy my eldest exhibits when he learns something new. Yesterday he was asking how many 3 & 1 makes, held up his fingers & counted them. This continued with a variety of numbers while I wrote down the sums for him. Eventually he took the pencil & managed to write "1 +" entirely independently. I wrote the numbers 3 & 4 on a separate piece of paper & he copied them to complete his chosen sum really neatly. He was so proud of himself! Not half as proud as I was - writing neatly is a pretty huge thing for a 4yo whose idea of writing/drawing is frantically scribbling across the entire page! His sum, while not completely on the line, was confined between 2 lines. I cut it out & stuck it in my diary! Grin

Night time when they come in to say goodnight and then stay for a cuddle and start telling me their inner most thoughts and feelings.

Elizasmum02 · 11/05/2016 17:35

we read together every evening, i think its so important to read to children i really enjoy these moments together and its giving my kids a love of books !

Rigbyroo · 11/05/2016 17:43

Squishing up in a cuddle sandwich with big sloppy kisses thrown in! Makes me smile from ear to ear!

StarOnTheTree · 11/05/2016 18:04

Walking to school with DD3 is our time to chat and then when we eat our evening meal and the DDs all talk over each other catch up with what's happening in each of our lives, particularly important with teenagers!

Other moments (not daily) include times when the DDs have been creative and/or get along with each other nicely. A few weeks ago they all went to the beach together and recorded a song with each DD singing different parts. Just seeing them linking arms with each other and their hair blowing in the wind is amazing. They made the recording for me and then we all sat and watched it. I can see myself at age 90 in my rocking chair by the fire just playing this over and over again Grin

all sat round the table for dinner, chatting about the day with no phones allowed, makes my day

Flanderspigeonmurderer · 11/05/2016 21:10

My sons class did a special assembly last week and it was so lovely to watch him singing and doing the actions to the songs. I may have got a bit misty eyed. It's cliched but he will always be my baby, the one I brought home from hospital, and to see him growing and learning makes my heart swell with pride.

Teladi · 11/05/2016 21:31

We had our first bike ride together the other day with us each on our own bikes, and it was just wonderful. Sharing an activity that we both enjoy, and having lovely little conversation on the way. Made me realise how grown up she is getting and how much I look forward to enjoying the school years with her (she starts in August)

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 12/05/2016 09:58

Sitting next to each other making stuff

That and just curling up on sofa together cuddling while she gets up to full speed after her nap

Bliss

Abbinob · 12/05/2016 10:22

Picking the 2 year old up from nursery and him excitedly telling me all about his day before telling me to be careful because we have to go through the "jungle" to get home (tiny patch of grass and a few trees) and says I better hold his hand so I'm safe

Callico · 12/05/2016 13:10

Walking around the lake together then sitting down with a picnic watching the scenery. We used to do it quite often but now they're older, it's a rare occasion. Dreading them flying the nest 😒

CheeseAtFourpence · 12/05/2016 14:37

Waking home from school together. I love chatting about her day or watching her pigtails in the wind as she zooms along on her scooter.

Signoritawhocansway · 12/05/2016 18:08

I like my DS bounding into the bedroom saying 'time to get up, Daddy go make Mummy a cup of tea'. I've trained him well - he's not even three for a few months yet!

shewhomustbeEbayed · 12/05/2016 18:56

At the weekend, when we don't have the time constraints of the week, we lie on the bed and she can really tell me what's on her mind ( and have cuddles ! )

GiraffesAndButterflies · 12/05/2016 19:09

DD (3) has been quite clingy with me for a long time. So my most joyful moments are seeing her excitedly and confidently chatting to / playing with someone else, be that Daddy, Nanna, Auntie or whoever.

And running. Toddlers are so cute when they run Grin

For DS (3 months) simply breastfeeding are my favourite moments. So peaceful and I am just filled with a deep, fundamental joy at having him.

carz1985 · 12/05/2016 19:28

I love it when both my daughters 4 and 1 come over to me and give me a hug and tell me they love me with out me saying anything and also kiss my tummy at minute and say I love you to their brother who am due any day now with.melts my heart they are both so sweet

MissPMA · 12/05/2016 20:12

Seeing the looks of adoration from my 5 month old as he watches his big brother who is his absolute hero. And the way my elder son responds to him. Such genuine, beautiful moments!
