We’ve been asked by Cadbury Buttons to find out about the everyday precious moments you share with your child, that fill you with joy.

So, what are your everyday shared moments of joy? Perhaps it's singing along in the car to a favourite tune or re-reading a favourite book together? Maybe it's watching a favourite movie together for the umpteenth time, or that last cuddle before they go to sleep?

Whatever your shared moments of joy are, please share them with Cadbury Buttons (and each other!) below. If you have any pictures of these moments, please feel free to share them below, we’d love to see them! All MNers who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Please note your posts and images may be included on Cadbury's pages on MN, their social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Standard Insight T&Cs apply

Thanks, and good luck!

All of us singing to the CD player in the car - because we know no one can hear us, we do go quite loud, God forbid somebody should hear us!

Enjoying some chocolates together, and it's an especially special and joyous moment because we know we're doing something we shouldn't be (I feel a bit guilty about this one, but it's actually quite a lovely feeling to be sneaky with the kids as they find it all the more thrilling when the adults are involved).

Mine are older and often bicker. My moments of joy are when I catch them being all sisterly and nice to each other. They like to think they don't get on, but I know they are going to be really close.

We're currently fostering kittens. It's sometimes messy and troublesome, but the pleasure that the DC, DH and I get from seeing them develop their tiny personalities, naming them, playing with them and making up stories about their inner lives is immeasurable.

Watching them wen they don't know they are being watched, and yes, bedtime kisses

Ashhead24 · 10/05/2016 18:16

Bath time, Ds loves splashing in the bath and his squeals are adorable.

starlight36 · 10/05/2016 18:32

Watching the sheer delight on their faces when they manage to accomplish a new everyday task. Today's was filling the watering can themselves by twisting the stiff water butt tap together. The joy on their little faces was wonderful.

Watching DD1 (5) reading to DD2 (2), carefully explaining the pictures.
Watching DD1's confidence grow as she learns to ride her bike.
Seeing DD2's excitement as she mixes up cake batter.
Everyone giggling and rolling on the floor as we escape from (imaginary) crocodiles.

EasterRobin · 10/05/2016 19:33

I love seeing my DD first thing in the morning. She'll be in her cot bed "singing" sounds (she doesn't talk yet) and shaking a rattle to accompany herself. I love to listen for a while at the door before I go in because as soon as she sees me she'll stop, burst into a massive giggly grin and reach out with both arms to be picked up. It's a wonderful way to start a day.

Book reading when it is a real favourite! All snuggled up.

Honeybuzzer · 10/05/2016 19:48

OhHolyFuck · 10/05/2016 19:57

Ds2 trying to whistle, it's the cutest/most hilarious thing I see most days

FlukeSkyeRunner · 10/05/2016 20:02

Reading bedtime stories and feeling them snuggle in. When DD2 reaches up for my hand on the way back from taking DD1 to school. The kids unbridled joy when they do well at swimming.

MePosieParker · 10/05/2016 20:03

Everyday?

I have four children, three of which are going through puberty....

At around 9:30pm I pop in to watch them sleeping.... I feel that is a moment shared, is it? I then go downstairs and eat chocolate that I don't have to share.

calibee · 10/05/2016 20:04

My moment of pleasure today was when my five month old twins were found holding hands chatting to one another.
They were premature and there have been some feeding difficulties, my anxiety levels have been running high so the relief to see them happy and well was huge :)

DinosaursRoar · 10/05/2016 20:26

Bedtime cuddles are up there for daily moments of joy, although seeing dc1 learn something new does fill me with joy and pride, the world is such an exciting and interesting place full of wonder for children, they help me see it too.

TartanTrousers · 10/05/2016 20:26

My DS (2.5) now does the cutest thing after watching Frozen on repeat about a million times...

He gives me a kiss and then says 'true love's kiss' and my heart melts!

Sammyislost · 10/05/2016 20:32

My children have just fallen in LOVE with Britain's Got Talent!! We watch it as a family and have the buzzer app on our iPads.

The children laugh, gasp and squeal with delight!! It's such a fun experience even though it's just in our living room!

And hearing their comments on each individual act can be so heartwarming as they use language I really didn't know they had!

:)

haisydaisy · 10/05/2016 20:40

When I pick my youngest daughter up from school and she comes running up to me so pleased and happy to see me and tell me all about her day.

TheMasterBaker · 10/05/2016 21:12

I love when we have a silly few minutes together having a funny dance and 'sing' to whatever comes on my stereo. The eldest 2 rush in and dance like loons in the kitchen and I can't resist joining in. Normally with the baby on my hip, he loves being with his sisters and having a bit of a bounce about.

PrincessAisha2015 · 10/05/2016 22:14

I look forward to lots of cuddles with my baby girl especially first thing in the morning and at night. Also holding her handwhile she is having a milk feed.. and my daughter falling asleep on my shoulder. priceless moments to capture forever in your heart.

pmama · 10/05/2016 22:21

After school, when we get home, we always spend about 30 minutes with chatting about our day, with fruit and finger sandwiches, finishing with a tiny bite of sweets. It is our early teatime, we are enjoying it very much :)

DebbieWobbs · 10/05/2016 22:42

I love sitting down at the table in the evening to eat our evening meal together as a family. It's the only time in the day when we are all actually in one place for any length of time because of work, school, and extra curricular activities. Sitting down together to eat gives us a chance to chat and share our days news with each other for a few precious minutes each day.

caromacx · 10/05/2016 22:46

My DC has spent all day telling me 'the man in the van has gone away Mummy.' He's 21 months :-)

GetKnitted · 11/05/2016 00:19

For me it is the simple things that count, nothing beats cuddling up on the sofa with a book.

campocaro · 11/05/2016 00:50

Definitely that last cuddle -still doing it at 16 and wouldn't miss it for the world!
