We’ve been asked by Cadbury Buttons to find out about the everyday precious moments you share with your child, that fill you with joy.

So, what are your everyday shared moments of joy? Perhaps it's singing along in the car to a favourite tune or re-reading a favourite book together? Maybe it's watching a favourite movie together for the umpteenth time, or that last cuddle before they go to sleep?

Whatever your shared moments of joy are, please share them with Cadbury Buttons (and each other!) below. If you have any pictures of these moments, please feel free to share them below, we’d love to see them! All MNers who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Please note your posts and images may be included on Cadbury's pages on MN, their social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks, and good luck!

My two are 17 and 10. My oldest turns 18 in July and I'm just so proud of her. Recent moments of joy with her have been her acceptance to university next year to do Paramedic Science and her acceptance to volunteer with a children's charity on a trip to Disneyland Florida in December. I can't believe that my squidgy little baby who never stopped smiling is now nearly an adult. She's been a joy to parent her whole life.

DD2 is on the spectrum and has a lot of issues but when she overcomes one of her fears of finally 'gets' something I do have a bit of a lump in my throat. She's been hard work from day one but I wouldn't be without her.

When the weather is nice and they're all playing together in the garden, and the eldest two push the youngest on the swing which she loves! No squabbling just peaceful play and laughter, lasts for a whole five minutes some times!

ButterflyOfFreedom · 12/05/2016 22:35

When my DD says 'cuddle', holds out her arms and runs to me for a big hug

When my DS asks if I'd like to snuggle up with him on the sofa and watch 'Noddy'

When I read a book with them

Whenever we sing or laugh together

There are so many 'little' moments I enjoy, being 'mummy' is fab! Smile

When we all play silly chasing games and the children shriek with laughter. It's just infectious and we all end up laughing hysterically.

Getting outdoors. We have a dog so walking is part of each day for us. My toddler is so much easier to entertain outside! I feel more relaxed as soon as we hear the door click shut behind us, Are usually looks up with her big Blue eyes and says 'adventure mummy?' everything is an adventure when you're two :)

I find the biggest joy is just spending time with my two sons, and now, one son gave me a grandson and my youngest son and his wife are expecting, so I get to do all those things all over again with two beautiful babies growing up and seeing the excitement on their faces at everything they see that's new and fresh in the world, and now, just spending time with them is the biggest firm of joy and happiness that me and their grandad could ever have.

SuzCG · 13/05/2016 09:33

The one that makes me smile every day is the 'I love you, Mum' before bed - even when we've had a bad or a shouty day we never go to bed without saying it. All is well with my world then!

The one to get giggles is dancing round the kitchen with them standing on my feet - we do love to shake it off!

AugustRose · 13/05/2016 10:05

I have two favourite bits at the moment. DS2 is 5 and learning to read, we have a great bedtime routine and after being washed/teeth brushed we sit snuggled on his bed reading his school books together. He loves to talk about the pictures as he is reading and it's the only time when it is just him and me.

The other is weekend mornings, DD2 and DS2 share a bedroom and I lie in bed listening to them play and chatter, DD2 (9) likes to mother and look after him and they play some wonderful games or she reads him a story - I just love the bond they have Smile

DS really really earnestly showing me what he has built on Minecraft, like it is the most amazing thing in the world.

PerspicaciaTick · 13/05/2016 11:08

Walking to or from school - looking at the hedgerows, talking about the kissing snails he found at school, confiding about friends and ideas, taking a few moments to just be together, holding hands.
Just the two of us, calm and relaxed.

Watching my 3 year old daughter perform songs and dances she has devised herself, and hearing all the funny, fascinating things she comes up with : )

Cadburys Buttons are a weekly treat for our family 'movie nights' at home, something we all look forward to and enjoy x

I love the way my children come to me with a problem or if they need help.I am disabled and I have three teenage children and one nine year old and they all seem quite independent. However, knowing that they will come to me if something is troubling them and being able to help face the problem or resolve it makes me so happy. I was having a bad night a few weeks ago so was on my tablet at 4 am. Suddenly a message popped up from my eldest child who is at uni - she had a deadline to meet, was stressed ; wanted to talk. I went downstairs, called her & wd chatted for an hour, working out a plan. The fact that I was tired the next day was nothing compared to the happiness I felt at being there when my daughter needed me.

allthingsred · 13/05/2016 13:08

The walk home from school.
It's a beautiful walk through a really lovely park that had a stream running through it (when it's hot the kids take off their shoes & have a paddle )
It's lively to hear them telling me about their day before we get back & the stress of no Tv/tablets /playing out before homework starta

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 13/05/2016 14:07

It's odd moments when we aren't really doing anything, usually! Like yesterday when my son was nattering on about one of his interests, sitting by my feet on the floor and just leaning on my legs. He is not that cuddly normally, but we just had a little snuggly moment enjoying each other's company.

NaraDeer · 13/05/2016 14:25

At the moment every single moment that 2.5 year old DD isn't screaming is a moment of joy GrinWink

Sammyislost · 13/05/2016 14:26

My little ones giggles today when we sing together. Their smiles at this age will stay with me FOREVER!!

HeyMicky · 13/05/2016 14:46

Every night I make up a story about DD1 and her toy rabbit. Sometimes I use it to reinforce some thing that's happened during the day or to foreshadow something coming up but often it's just a nonsense adventure. We lie in the dark and cuddle and it's very personal and special to her

MeLittleDuckie · 13/05/2016 18:03

Our DS is just learning to walk and is so proud of himself - we're so proud too! Every time he does a couple of steps he grins at one of us as if to say 'look what I just did' and it makes my heart burst Grin

Reaching all these milestones with him is a massive privilege.

idleweiss · 13/05/2016 20:31

Having a cuddle and reading lots of stories! I love hearing my little ones read too, listening to the voices they do for each character and all the expression they put into each story makes me so happy!

Cineraria · 13/05/2016 23:02

I really can't decide; there are so many. My son is just seven months old and after reading all the posts here I'm really looking forward to many more special moments with him.

I love how he wakes us up just before the alarm clock most days (he comes into or our bed for his six o'clock feed and nods off again there) by gently murmuring "boo, boo, boo" and patting our faces.

Having him join in with eating some of our favourite meals and enjoying them just much as we do but showing his delight so much more openly at the new tastes he experiences is wonderful too. How can he get so excited about broccoli florets?

The most amazing one is that he loves it when I sing to him. I really haven't a musical bone in my body yet his face fills with joy and he really concentrates on every word I sing and so I really enjoy it too. His current favourites are Five Little Ducks and Nelly the Elephant.

Hopezibah · 14/05/2016 01:14

An everyday moment of joy is when she wants to sit on my lap to watch Star Wars (even though she is only 4 Star Wars is her fave film and she wants to be luke skywalker when she grows up).

I love seeing her face light up with excitement and know that all too soon she won't want to sit on my lap anymore as she'll be too big.

catgirl2 · 14/05/2016 07:11

Story time in the little playhouse in my daughters room. Cosy, quiet and a chance to just hang out together with no interruptions.
