In the run-up to the release of ‘The Angry Birds Movie’, from Sony Pictures, we are very excited to announce a new addition to the range of emoticons on Mumsnet – The Angry Bird! Angry Bird

The Angry Birds Movie Synopsis:

In the 3D animated comedy, The Angry Birds Movie, we'll finally find out why the birds are so angry. The movie takes us to an island populated entirely – or almost entirely- by happy, flightless birds. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis, We're the Millers, Horrible Bosses), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad in his first animated role since Frozen), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride, This Is the End, Eastbound and Down) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to this trio of unlikely outcasts to work out what the pigs are up to.

You can read more about the film here.

To celebrate, Sony Pictures want to hear your best ‘Angry Bird Moments’. So do share them here - whether it be your biggest pet peeve, a moment that got your feathers well and truly ruffled, or something that made you want to break everything in the room, in true Angry Birds style!

As an extra challenge, try to work the new emoticon into your post.
For example, my Angry Bird moment was …

When hubby has a late night snack and finishes off the bread, leaving us no bread for kids packed lunches at school the next morning.

When DH calls me 'dear'. It just sounds so patronising and makes me really angry. I'm not generally an angry person!

ann28 · 12/05/2016 13:18

When it's my fault for forgetting to remind DH over something, rather than it being his fault for forgetting!!

rhinosuze · 12/05/2016 13:33

Honestly adults who swear in front of my child!!

Dianic · 12/05/2016 14:02

My Angry Bird moments are when DH and I are out shopping and he (a wheelchair user) asks a member of staff in a shop a question and they answer me... Even in this day and age!

Like: "Does he take sugar?" - ask him - duh! Angry Bird

Jetcatisback · 12/05/2016 16:01

My Angry Bird was I was just about to start a new job in a new area, so had gone in the week before to observe the current set up. I was sat at the side, studiously taking notes on my phone.

My new boss came over to me, looked me straight in the eye and said, "Angry bird?" Now, where I had just moved from, "bird" was an affectionate nickname for a woman patronising I know I was very confused, thinking I must really work on my body language if he thought I was angry Blush . After a few moments of utter confusion on both our parts, I realised he wasn't asking if I was angry - but rather if I was playing Angry Bird!

strawberrisc · 12/05/2016 18:12

My whole life is one, huge, pet-peeve. I'm sure I suffer from an undiagnosed medical condition as I have no tolerance whatsoever.

I'll tell you my current most huge pet-peeve. Women commenting "eek" on the internet. It makes me want to grow a penis.

milliemoon · 12/05/2016 20:39

when my DH left used ear cotton buds the bathroom

stefalfie11 · 12/05/2016 22:26

When i've just cleaned the house and my partner brings the dirty wet dogs inside without towelling them off first!

GiraffesAndButterflies · 12/05/2016 23:31

Things that I want to destroy in an Angry Bird - like manner:

People who make a living out of lying to others, eg: homeopathy practitioners, any kind of "psychic", MLM bots, Daily Mail journalists.
People who are intelligent enough not to believe the lies of all the above, and yet do.

buckley1983 · 12/05/2016 23:33

Angry Bird I love a good rant! Angry Bird
Very much feeling the frustration at lack of manners re: driving - people not letting other drivers out, not acknowledging you when you show some road kindness. Also, aggressive driving is infuriating - people driving RIGHT up behind you when you're going the speed limit - arghh!! Angry Bird
People that throw rubbish out of the car window - thoughtless & idle! Angry Bird
Being in a rush & then making myself more late by spilling tea/dropping bag/stubbing toe because I am in a rush - unfair!! Angry Bird
As for a recent incident.. trying to connect the new router yesterday - literally a 5 minute job, if left undisturbed to focus. Made a bug fuss of LO & ensured he was occupied after making sure he'd have enough to eat/drink & have no other requests in that moment. Unfortunately my LO wanted my undivided attention as soon as I diverted it elsewhere & started climbing all over me , shouting 'mummymummymummymummy' - standing on the instructions & throwing the lead across the room. 5 minutes, seriously!! Angry Bird

AvaAmulet · 13/05/2016 14:03

Currently the roadworks at the end of my street that have been there for weeks on end, with no end in sight, taking up more and more of the space the residents have to manoeuvre around them onto the main road. Total chaos if 2 cars are trying to pass in opposite directions. It makes taking my child to the park by foot difficult as their vehicles are obstructing our view of traffic. It also adds time to my nursery run. All in all dangerous and very annoying.... Especially considering a sign has stood alongside the massive hole along the pavement for the last 3 weeks stating that work has now finished and the pavement will be resurfaced within 3 DAYS, still they keep digging and expanding ........

AvaAmulet · 13/05/2016 14:07

My hubby is also experiencing daily 'Angry Bird' moments because of this. He is definitely not a 'Bird'. I get what you mean MN....Wink

WowOoo · 13/05/2016 18:13

I got into a bit of a bad mood when some idiot had parked across my drive. It didn't help that Ds1 was desperate for the toilet and really wanted to get inside the house. Blocked him in and had words afterwards. Angry Bird

Hopezibah · 14/05/2016 01:12

My Angry Bird moment was when I found my kids had chopped up my guitar strings into VERY TINY PIECES! It was really hard to get replacements for that type of guitar and it took me a very long time to calm down.

catgirl2 · 14/05/2016 07:16

People driving too fast down our street. Plus echoing another poster here, my neighbour who parks their car on the street outside my house (leaving their driveway empty) leaving me (no driveway and two small children) having to park in the next street! Argh!

Firewall · 14/05/2016 10:02

Angry Bird hanging out washing on a glorious sunny day, to come back at the end of the day to find bird poo splattered across numerous items. Yuck and Angry Bird

Roseformeplease · 14/05/2016 14:20

Capital punishment, and those who support it make me very, very angry. Also, those (I am looking at you America) who are "pro-life" and also "pro-execution" and don't see that you can't be both and not be a hypocrite.

I found the people who use History, often a very warped view of History to put others down during the Scottish Referendum really made me blood boil: as a No voter I was blamed for Culloden, the Highland Clearances and the Poll Tax.

On a more mundane level - people who litter, especially cigarette butts; slow drivers on winding roads with no passing places and the absence of baked goods or particular types of chocolate make me a bit angry too.

beckyinman · 14/05/2016 20:02

I'm an angrybird when people drive down the middle lane of the motorway when they aren't overtaking!

PaulineFowlersGrowler · 15/05/2016 09:23

Stubbing my toe, it turns me into a tantruming toddler (albeit a sweary tantruming toddler!) Angry Bird

wobblywindows · 15/05/2016 12:58

I wondered whether to mention this when it happened a few weeks ago. I was picking dearest grandson from school on Friday and teach came over.
-Are you the grandma? Because if you are, I'd just like to say that R* mustn't have any treats or special treatment while he's with you. He's been naughty and treats are not appropriate today.

Took me days to figure out why she was so wrong (school will treat him well on Monday if he's good while he's with me, will it?)
Definitely my Angry Bird moment, more Terence than Red.

Larnipoo · 15/05/2016 18:26

At work I'm the go to for baking birthday cakes (not a problem I love to bake) so when it was mentioned about my boss' 40th I offered. Then I discovered it had to be gluten free (no prob I thought - give the one a go in the new Nigella book). Then I discovered it had to be egg free too - colleague found a recipe online. Went shopping for ingredients - saw coconut flour was gluten free so bought that with the hope it would add depth to a cake I really didn't hold out much hope for. So made it, seem very dry. Cooked it - turns out coconut flour soaks up moisture like anything so I ended up with chocolate soil. At this point my patience is running thin, hubby was in town so asked him to pop into Holland and Barratt and pick up the gluten free flour he said I should have bought in the supermarket (yep to compound the issue I had to admit my hubby was right and I was wrong). 2nd attempt on cake, more like a batter this time. Still little rise and looks like a giant cookie.
A for effort lol
