Easter is nearly upon us and to celebrate, the team at Cadbury want to hear what you’re up to! Whether it’s cooking a roast at home, taking part in one of over 250 Cadbury egg hunts at National Trust places around the UK, hosting your own hunt, or going on a trip away, Cadbury would love to hear what it is.

So please share your Easter plans with Cadbury by posting on this thread. Everyone who posts will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

In addition to this, we’ll be awarding 10 Family Day passes to National Trust places across the UK!

Please note your comments may be included on Cadbury's pages on MN, their social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

We have the third year of our new Easter family tradition ahead of us and I cannot wait! We have always loved the Cadbury Easter egg hunts at National Trust sites and a couple of years ago, we decided to combine our need for a short family break away and our love of the hunts.
Last year was a staycation and we spent the four days shooting off to Cadbury hunts at National Trust Scotland sites across Glasgow, Ayr and Stirling. We clocked up 9 hunts and 11 eggs! This year, we are headed to castle country up North and plan to do a tour of all the National Trust Scotland sites around Aberdeenshire. Our itinerary includes 10 sites, of which at least five are actual castles. Our two children love the different challenges each hunt brings, running around amazing grounds, forest and even beaches and exploring history and fabulous architecture along the way. Not to mention the quality family time and memories we are creating.
Getting enough time at each place to complete the trail, see the sights and eat a packed lunch before darting off to the next place is all part of the fun. We come home filled with adventure, a list of places we want to revisit and of course an enormous pile of chocolate!

We're getting a puppy Easter weekend!
Not quite the usual activity but very exciting nonetheless Grin

nerysw · 07/03/2016 20:44

I'll be working for a lot of the holiday but in between I'll be making time for an easter egg hunt and I imagine there'll be some cake making going on.

pukkapine · 07/03/2016 20:45

Easter for us this year has had the three line whip drawn, and we're away from home to visit family. I feel somewhat miz about this as we have loved the last few Easter's just the five of us, no big roast just a bloody gorgeous afternoon tea at home with the kiddies all excited about Easter bunny, and my beautiful Easter Tree (twee but I love it). At some point over the long weekend we would always go to one of our local NT places where the kids could go wild and get an Egghead :) However, I am ever so slowly coming around to this year's change, mostly because the kiddies are considerably bigger now and as such, the grandparent's garden seems a much better venue for a decent egg hunt, and they can do the cooking and have chocolate fuelled grandkids on their hands ;) Also quite looking forward to checking out a NT Easter Trail in a different area of the country. So I'll de-miz now...

I will be doing baking with the children ready for Easter - chocolate nests, spring coloured cupcakes and a large chocolate cake for Easter. We will also do an Easter Egg hunt on Easter Sunday - it is slightly easier now as DD1 will be home from Uni and so she does all the hiding for the benefit of her 9 year old DS - although all 4 DC have to take part in the hunt! We go to church regularly so will probably participate in the Maundy Thursday eve meal, along with the Easter Sunday service. After Easter I am taking DD2 to Paris for a few days to fulfil a long-standing promise. DD1 is planning on taking DD3 to London to do some sightseeing. We also hope to go to the coast to walk the dogs along the beach and are also hoping to get out in the countryside if the weather is dry enough to walk off the excess chocolate that will have been consumed.

ItsTimeForDuggee · 07/03/2016 21:05

Moving to other end of the country and getting married and hopefully going on an Easter egg hunt or do my own for Ds

jeminem48 · 07/03/2016 21:10

We are planning on taking our little girl to Chester Zoo as she loves animals, might even pop into the Ice-Cream Farm on the way back as I've heard the ice-creams are yummy :)

cookie09 · 07/03/2016 21:22

This easter i'm going to Champneys Spa for a pamper and detox night... i'm saving my chocolate until easter monday!

buckley1983 · 07/03/2016 21:35

We're off to Wales to celebrate Easter! Hoping the sun will be shining, even if it's still a bit chilly! We're planning an Easter Egg Hunt (not terribly original I know, but if it ain't broke - don't fix it!) & then much negiotating with LO so he doesn't make himself sick scoffing all the eggs & refusing any other foodstuffs. In all honesty, I will also be indulging in the chocolate gorging. Roll on spring!

Cailin7 · 07/03/2016 22:39

enjoying the four day break from school and work and walking and spending our time on the beach

Blu · 07/03/2016 23:00

We start preparing as soon as the Crème eggs appear in the supermarkets- about Dec 27th. 92 members of our friends and family have an annual Cadbury's easter competition.
We have an Easter parade of our artworks.

I won last year by making a huge purple shiny satin duvet cover which made my bed look like a giant bar of dairy Milk. This year DS is carving an 8' high egg out of yellow foam rubber. He intends to put himself inside it, (he calls himself the Joke Yoke), roll down the hill to a friends house and 'hatch' dramatically on the doorstep.

DP has tarted up a black and white onesie to look like a collie (give or take some misplaced fun fur) and spends his weekends on the fells trying to rustle a sheep.

We do like a nice roast lamb on Easter Sunday.

But I have read about sheep worrying on many a MN thread about the country code and I am concerned he will get shot. Sad

CommunistLegoBloc · 07/03/2016 23:24

Paying my taxes and keeping my integrity. Cadbury's, the opposite I assume?

BettyOctopus · 08/03/2016 07:50

Children are going to their aunts-we shall have lie-ins and peace and quiet!

Iggi999 · 08/03/2016 08:01

Blu Grin

BigStripeyBastard · 08/03/2016 08:04

I shall be enjoying plenty of Lindt chocolate because Cadbury's now tastes entirely of arse.
Up yours, Cadbury.

senua · 08/03/2016 08:19

I won't be eating Cadbury's, that's for sure. I don't know what you think it is these days but it's not chocolate. It's brown-coloured sugar-overload. Yack!

Clairescottshug · 08/03/2016 10:21

Definitely crafts, Easter baking and a home hunt and will be looking for any local events that are happening:-)

purpleclaire · 08/03/2016 10:26

We've got Granny coming over for lunch, some sort of roast dinner, then an Easter Egg hunt in the garden with our DS8 and DD3.

Lariflete · 08/03/2016 10:29

I am so excited about Easter (although it isn't as late as I would like Wink ) because I love getting the children into the garden. Easter is typically when we start gardening and spending more time outdoors.
We'll go to the Easter Vigil on Saturday and then have a family day on Easter Sunday.
During the Easter holidays, I am planning an Easter party for some of DD and DS's friends. I've even bought one of the Lakeland Pouring Cake sets, because I've seen a cake I want to make Blush We'll do an Easter Egg hunt in the garden and then have some food and possibly watch a film.

paulaburnside114 · 08/03/2016 11:10

We will be in Scotland for my Nieces wedding on the Saturday so Easter Sunday will start with a full english breakfast at the hotel then a day of visiting other family members collecting Easter eggs as we go.

howabouthisone · 08/03/2016 12:57

I'll be trying to find something to replace the travesty that Cadburys eggs have turned into

Emgrace · 08/03/2016 13:18

Having an easter egg hunt and eating all the chocolate with a turkey roast as well.

JulesJules · 08/03/2016 14:04

On Easter Sunday we are going to my parents house, my Mum always does a brilliant treasure hunt for the dds with rhyming clues.
We don't get eggs for each other or for parents. Girls get a Lindt bunny each.

RortyCrankle · 08/03/2016 14:43

I will be eating lots and lots of chocolate but none of it will be cadburys which now tastes like shit.
