Mother’s Day is just around the corner and, to celebrate, Lidl want to know what dish you'd like to be served on a perfect Mothering Sunday. Whether this is a snack, starter, main course, cake or dessert, please share your ideal dish on this thread - then Michelin-starred chef Kevin Love will create recipes using Lidl items for a selection of MNers choices! (In an ideal world your OH or DC would then actually make them for you!)

So please share on this thread what you've love to see created for you on Mother's Day - Lidl would love to hear them

Share your ideal Mother’s Day dish with Lidl by posting on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where five MNers will each win a £50 Lidl voucher.

Please note your comments may be used by Lidl elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck!

A roast dinner, either chicken or beef, cooked by me with DH doing the donkey work helping because everyone enjoys it and eats happily without complaints.

Tapas would be perfect, nice and light. Accompanied by a nice red wine of course :-)

Funkyferret · 18/02/2016 23:49

I'd love a Greek meze. Olives, hummus and babganoush, pittas, falafels, dolma - the works!

beeelaine · 18/02/2016 23:59

I would love a slow-cooker paprika chicken with lots of shallots (i really love onions/shallots) and served with rice and a few spicy wedges and a fresh crispy salad, a little sour cream dip for the wedges and a nice bottle of red to wash it down with. Back to reality.... and being honest here, I would really be happy to be awoken with a poached egg on toast and a hot brew! haha

wendybrown · 19/02/2016 00:33

vegan chilli and banana pancakes!

littlemouse15 · 19/02/2016 01:44

I would love a decent vegetarian fry up, Veggie bacon and veggie sausages, hashbrown, beans and scrambled egg and 2 pieces of toast. Problem is lidl doesn't have a brilliant vegetarian section (as in quorn/fake meat) and its a shame because its my closest shop but i have to go to tesco or asda to get what i need. and i get my dog food from lidl so would love to be able to do a whole shop there. So because i no they don't sell those things i would like Pancakes and maple syrup instead :)

kittylover · 19/02/2016 01:48

scrivette · 19/02/2016 02:02

I would like a breakfast cooked for me, a bacon roll and a sausage in a roll - mmmm.

pockledigg · 19/02/2016 05:02

Vegan Shepherds Pie with greens and peas. Delicious.

AnimalAddict · 19/02/2016 06:05

A delicious roast dinner with all the trimmings! :)

sweir1 · 19/02/2016 06:47

A nice roast beef dinner followed by apple pie and custard

PrincessAisha2015 · 19/02/2016 07:23

My ideal Mothers day Dinner would be a nice pizza garlic bread and curly crispy fries- a day of for me.NOT to cook :-)

Chopstheduck · 19/02/2016 08:29

Anything that I don't have to cook! A leg of lamb rubbed with Moroccan style spices and couscous would be nice.

strawberrisc · 19/02/2016 08:39

My Mum's fish pie with slices of boiled egg, peas and parsely sauce!

mumtowoo1 · 19/02/2016 10:16

My favourite Mothers Day dish would have to be roast beef with all the trimmings

AnnaGrant · 19/02/2016 12:04

Pulled brisket! Cooked slowly with smoked bacon, carrots, red onions and celery, which can be transformed into the most delicious gravy. With all the trimmings.

Alfieisnoisy · 19/02/2016 12:21

Anything prepared for me by my lovely DS. He is autistic but likes to do things for me. Last Mothers Day it was cold garlic bread and a glass of water brought up to me in bed for breakfast Grin. And yes I ate and drank both.

Then again if someone would like to prepare sea bass on a bed of creamed leeks with a chilled glass of Pinot Grigo I won't refuse. :-)

DancingWithWillard · 19/02/2016 12:59

Either a huge chicken roast with stuffing and yorkshires (yes I know, but I love them!) or proper spaghetti carbonara made with fresh cream, egg and salty bacon. Yum!

LucyBo17 · 19/02/2016 13:21

A roast dinner with Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes

Lisacraig1981 · 19/02/2016 14:11

Pizza made with the kids! Just buy the base and let them put on the toppings

geezerbird44 · 19/02/2016 15:46

Best Mother Day meal would be Shepherds Pie. Something you can all get round the table with and dish up easy.

myusername12345 · 19/02/2016 16:14

Would probably have to be a full English breakfast....in bed!

TooMuchOfEverything · 19/02/2016 16:18

DH is working this Mother's Day, but Lidl is near enough for DC to walk to and buy me dinner. I expect they would buy all the doughnuts and a ton of Mr Choc.

My ideal meal for them to make would be something like chicken with Greek salad. Yum.

emilybc · 19/02/2016 16:32

I'd love a poached pear (poached in vanilla syrup ideally!) hidden inside a crispy but chewy on the inside Italian meringue, with some chocolate sauce on the side. A girl can dream...!
