Mother’s Day is just around the corner and, to celebrate, Lidl want to know what dish you'd like to be served on a perfect Mothering Sunday. Whether this is a snack, starter, main course, cake or dessert, please share your ideal dish on this thread - then Michelin-starred chef Kevin Love will create recipes using Lidl items for a selection of MNers choices! (In an ideal world your OH or DC would then actually make them for you!)

So please share on this thread what you've love to see created for you on Mother's Day - Lidl would love to hear them

Share your ideal Mother’s Day dish with Lidl by posting on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where five MNers will each win a £50 Lidl voucher.

Please note your comments may be used by Lidl elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck!

For me it will always be a good old roast, with all the trimmings of course especially roasties, yorkshire pudding and pigs in blankets!

My ideal Mother's day dish would be an Afternoon tea themed treat - a tier with little sandwiches followed by fresh warm scones and some tea would be great. Plus a glass of Champagne of course!

Last mother's day I got made breakfast in bed. It was a bit of a committee effort; DD1 was decided she wanted to make me a boiled egg, while DD2 was absolutely adamant about a cup of tea and a biscuit. So I got both on a tray, (with a toasted muffin added by DH because he felt egg and biscuits might not go that well together)
I quite liked the surprise element of everyone choosing what to cook me.

But if I had to plan my own, I'd probably go for tea or coffee and indulgent creamy cakes - eclairs perhaps, or meringues-, or maybe afternoon tea with scones and cream and jam.
Or else I'd go for breakfast. Hot toast with butter and marmite, hot tea, simple, perfect.

Beef & mushroom stroganoff with rice - that has to be probably my favourite treat meal, done well, it's gorgeous.
