Parenting is a joyful, but occasionally exasperating experience, with pride and happiness frequently intermingled with tears, tantrums and toddler meltdowns.

Arla Big Milk have asked us to find out about your funny (even if only in retrospect!) 'Oh God' moments of parenting - here’s what they say:

"Being a parent comes with its ups and downs and getting your little one the nutrients they need isn’t always easy. That’s why Arla Big Milk has been developed to specifically meet the needs of growing children from ages one to five*, enriched with essential nutrients to help support children’s growth and development as part of their balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. Arla Big Milk ‘helping your little ones become big ones’."

So what snigger-worthy woes or wonders have you experienced as a parent? Has your newborn ever 'surprised' you with an unexpected and well-aimed wee? Perhaps your child has channelled their inner Picasso with crayon marks all over the wallpaper? Have you ever had to brave a completely irrational meltdown at the supermarket that (in hindsight Wink) makes you laugh? Whatever your stories are, Arla Big Milk would love to hear them.

Everyone who comments on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher!

Thanks and best of luck,

My 5yo DD approached me the other day as I was sitting down on the sofa - she said "mummy, watch this" and she turned around, pulled her pants down and farted in my face!!! Shock Needless to say, she thought this was hilarious! Hmm I ask you...where did I go wrong? Confused lol Grin

our loo was not flushing and seemed to be blocked. On inspection the cistern was full of little green soldiers. Our DS still will not admit to flushing them down the loo. Theory: Little bissum or Toy Story goings on!

gamerwidow · 08/02/2016 21:30

My DD loves to eat playdoh more than play with it and the first bright blue poo was a bit of a shock for us.

pfcpompeysarah · 08/02/2016 21:39

When DS was a baby I went to change him and he did a wee in my face, as I went to wipe my face he did a cough and a poo flew straight out his bottom all over my top, not a good day!!

shivbrown · 08/02/2016 21:58

Ive learnt that when you take a baby boys nappy off there willy turns into a hose and will soak every thing in sight!

grannybiker · 08/02/2016 22:08

If a man with fascinating boobies coms out of the changing room, your 2 year old will notice and comment in a very loud and clear voice

LeeR1985 · 08/02/2016 22:11

My newborn daughter had a lovely poo on me within 15 minutes of being born.. a sign of things to come! Haha

lizziewade · 08/02/2016 22:12

My 2 year old waited till it was the quietest time in our local library to have a coughing fit and projectile vomit over the newly decorated kids corner.....why!!!

Supermam · 08/02/2016 22:56

When my DS was four years old, he was convinced that he would be able to fly if he just moved his arms quickly enough when he jumped. "Look, Mummy, I can fly!"

Certain foods come out almost exactly the same as it goes in! Seeds, raisins as well as none food items!

No matter how high up and out of site you put matches a determined arsonist will always find them. The good news is he only scorched the brand new bedroom carpet! Hid it with his brothers 5 foot teddy and I didn't find it until much later. Advice to any prospective parent - try and stop at one boy. Three are a nightmare! But I do love them.

There will never be a buggy that can successfully roll over a clothes hanger

If certain foods touch each other, it will completely alter their taste and texture making them inedible

Soft play can cause more bruises to your body than a rugby match

The park is most enjoyable in January, when theres sleet, its 3 degrees and the toilets are closed. Any other day is not as much fun

I've learnt that although a packet of marshmallows entertained a toddler in the back of a car for at least half an hour it took at least that to clean the sugary mess from her hair, body and car seat...

jazzitup · 09/02/2016 12:03

Nice and simple.
I still laugh like an idiot when my daughter sneezies and farts at the same time.
Thank you, I'll get my coat.

I learnt very quickly that no matter how prepared you are your dc will need something you haven't got. We where going away for the weekend with family I fed my dd before we left we just turned into the motorway complete with roadworks when she started screaming, I was sat next to her, but couldn't take her out and my df couldn't stop anywhere, cue me breast feeding my dd leaning over her car seat as we went along the motorway!

itshappenedagain · 09/02/2016 12:41

Forgot to add my ds's told this to his class when we got back that "mummy got her boobies in the middle of the road! " Blush

supermariossister · 09/02/2016 13:26

When your toddler goes to sleep at their grandads for the one night in years you are going out dont let your dad tell him you are at the boozer. he will repeat it in front of all the nursery staff with a tortured " she has to leave me to be a boozer"

One time!

3 year old and her friend wanted to go paddling so put toilet paper in plug hole, shut bathroom door, and turned taps on to flood bathroom. 1st I knew, as I was feeding 6 week old sister, was water coming thro kitchen ceiling

Ive learnt that sometimes its easier to wear the Anna from Frozen headband and dance around the living room, than say no!

Maiyakat · 09/02/2016 19:13

I never knew it was possible to go from one extreme of emotion to another so quickly! Or that the same request can lead to totally different outcomes (happy compliance or complete meltdown...)

Annbunce · 09/02/2016 20:26

When my daughter was about 3 we were in our local supermarket and one of the food demonstrators was giving out samples of ice cream. My daughter was handed one of the pots. She enjoyed the ice cream so much so also bit a chunk out of the plastic spoon. Unfortunately we had to take a trip to A & E to check she was ok. Thankfully she was.

mo3733 · 09/02/2016 21:17

learning not to bad mouth people thinking my daughter isnt listening or even interested only to find her repeat it verbatim to the person i was talking about. awkward!

IWasThere4Aug12 · 09/02/2016 23:10

When DS was 2 I nipped upstairs and on my return found he had removed every single key off my work laptop. At least I couldn't do any work when he had his nap that day!

fm201069 · 09/02/2016 23:16

I have a 3 month old so for me I snigger when my wife ends up with the poopy nappy instead of me

KIRANKAUR1985 · 09/02/2016 23:30

When my daughter was teething, I said to my husband that I think her gums are hurting, the next day she said to me mummy the bum in mouth is hurting :)
