If you've got a great recipe you knock up with a juicer, nutrition extractor or even an old-school blender then Lidl want to hear about it. Whether it's a vitamin-boosting smoothie, a cold-busting soup or even a nut butter, please share it on this thread

What creative recipes have you mastered with a blender or juicer? Maybe you have a genius recipe for filling your kids chock-full of vegetables or fruit, or you've worked out a way to use it to make something you'd normally have to pay loads more to buy in a shop? Do you use the chopper for making short work of rubs or marinades? Or maybe you use the crushed ice to whip up summer drinks and knockout cocktails. Whatever your surprising use of a blender or juicer is, Lidl then we'd love to know more.

Lidl want to hear about these recipes to celebrate their launch of their new Silvercrest Kitchen Tool Nutrition Mixier on 18th January for (£29.99 - hurry while stocks last Grin)

Everyone who posts a recipe on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where five MNers will each win a £50 Lidl voucher.

Thanks and best of luck,

My daily breakfast is nutribullet of kale, spinach, banana, frozen berries, peanut butter and soya protein powder with linseed added afterwards. Sorts everything out and keeps me full up

Princessxo · 20/01/2016 22:34

Protein shake recipe:

1 scoop whey protein (I use sticky toffee pudding)
50ml double cream
10 ice cubes
250ml milk

YUMMY and very filling. This is usually on a heavy workout day.

My little girl had allergies and has gone through some really picky eating phases, thank goodness for smoothies!

Tbsp rolled oats - soak in a calcium enriched safe milk (we use coconut) over night
1 banana peeled
6 frozen strawberries
Handful spinach
1 peach or nectarine (can use canned - in juice only)
Enough safe milk to thin to drinkable consistency

Blitz. Tastes a bit like icecream with the frozen strawberries and the oats which, once softened, give the smoothie a creamy heartiness. Had at least 1/2 her calcium rda and full of vitamins, minerals and fibre.

Gcalgske · 21/01/2016 00:20

My stick blender has a little chopping / food processor bit which I use for making seasonings, grinding my own almonds, making hazelnut butter etc. The best I would say is star anise salt.

50g Maldon salt (or similar quality salt)
3 whole star anise

Blend until well ground. Seive out the big bits and discard. Roast pork or beef will never be the same again....omg on crackling!!!!

Low carb breakfast Mocha
1 cup fresh brewed coffee
1 tsp coconut oil
10g unsalted butter
1 tbsp double cream
1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
Stevia to taste
Mix everything together and blitz until frothy and delicious. Kicks the butt of any latte!

I love my banana smoothie recipe? So easy but soooo good! Sometimes throw in a bit of coconut milk or raspberries for an extra zing;
Bananas
Milk
Bit of water
Spoon or two of brown sugar
Ice
Done!

LovelyFriend · 21/01/2016 09:54

a tablespoon of peanut butter is delicious in a banana smoothie.

NATTASHA · 21/01/2016 14:00

I love juicing, souping anything raw!
I have a vitamix, a juicer which are fantastic but needed something compact to take to work for breakfast and lunch. It's ideal for one person!

100mls Coconut Water
1/2 Avocado
1/2 Green Apple
Small piece of ginger
Kale or Spinach
1 tbls Manuka Honey

This machine packs a lot of punch for the money!

This is amazing, I make this for my daughter who has a little acne and its cleared her skin. Your skin will glHmmw Wink

My winter, warming soup is packed full of nutrients plus cold-busting ingredients!
1 red onion
1 clove of garlic
½ butter nut squash
1 parsnip
2 carrots
½ chilli
1 tsp ginger
pinch turmeric
pinch cumin
1 L veg stock
Cook everything for 20-30 mins, then blend until smooth.

Cineraria · 21/01/2016 19:45

Cough or sore throat mixture

To take on a spoon or add to a cup of hot water to drink

Hand sized piece of ginger root cleaned and peeled
250ml orange juice
1 tsp black peppercorns
1tsp cloves
Finger sized piece of cassia bark or cinnamon stick
Jar of honey or golden syrup

Blend all the ingredients apart from the honey/syrup and boil in a pan for five minutes.

Strain into a measuring jug through a fine metal sieve, tea strainer or muslin

Add a quantity of honey/syrup that is equal to the amount of liquid you have and mix together

Allow to cool and store in the fridge in a glass bottle or jar

CharleyDavidson · 21/01/2016 21:35

Milk, banana, berries and a squidge of honey. Add a tsp of malted drink (like horlicks) sometimes. Whizz and enjoy ice cold.

Hopezibah · 21/01/2016 21:36

This is a kind of smoothie bowl but it looks really cool as there are two layers of colour.

You need to blend two batches and a quick rinse of the blending jug in between is fine.

Bottom layer is 1 ripe avocado, a dollop of yogurt, a squeeze of honey and a tsp of vanilla paste. This makes a delicious thick green paste. Pour into the bottom of a clear bowl.

Rinse the blender.

Next blend a tin of peaches in juice with a bit of grated ginger (i keep a piece of frozen ginger in the freezer to grate as needed).

Gently pour this layer on top. this layer is runnier so you need to pour really slowly so it doesn't mix together or pour over the back of a spoon to help it settle on top of the avocado.

Then eat with a spoon as a delicious smoothie bowl - great for breakfast, dessert or a snack!

If you want it as a smoothie drink then add a splash of milk to each part whilst blending to make it runnier.

Elliecherry · 22/01/2016 05:35

One banana
Lots of strawberries
Milk
Honey

Blend it up!

ArthurMcAffertyhastwocats · 22/01/2016 08:27

I've just had broccoli, frozen spinach, ginger, almond milk and apple.

No one ever believes me, but Brussels sprouts work really well as the veg element of a smoothie!

My Nutribullet gets a lot of use, including for chocolate milkshakes for children and whipping up hummous and pasta sauce.

OldCrowMedicineShow · 22/01/2016 08:35

Dairy free ice cream/mousse

Drain the liquid from a tin of coconut milk and put the cream in the Nutribullet
Add a bar of dairy free hazelnut chocolate and whizz.
For mousse, keep in the fridge for 1 hour.
For ice cream, put in freezer and mash with a fork when you remember hourly.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 22/01/2016 11:58

Quick and nutritious smoothie:

banana
strawberry
any other berries that may be around (raspberries are a fav)
then just add some milk, blend it all up, good to go!

MrsFizz · 22/01/2016 13:57

I absolutely love a blend of banana, strawberries, blueberries and about a handful of baby spinach leaves (for extra nutirtional value) mixed with about 500ml of apple juice, perfect morning start

InspectorMontalbano · 22/01/2016 20:04

I add frozen broccoli to our smoothies. It's otherwise fruit - banana, mango, pineapple, berries
