We’ve been asked by Sheilas' Wheels to find out what Mumsnetters want from their Car Insurance policy.

They say "we appreciate that Car insurance isn't something you think about every day, however, should you need it you want to know everything is covered."

So what would be your ideal car insurance policy? Should it include a number of complimentary car washes each year? Any extras to keep your family safe when motoring?

Whatever you’d like from your car insurance policy, Sheilas' Wheels would love to hear your thoughts and ideas. Who knows, you could help shape the future of car insurance?

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks,

Simple comprehensive insurance cover, that is there when I need it. Good service at a fair price, with no sales calls. I believe we get this with our present insurance company; this is why we chose them.

I want a guaranteed safe journey! A quick call out if I am alone or cold or in the dark and a courtesy car and hotel stay if necessary!

mulgrove · 10/01/2016 21:38

Good customer service and great prices

ksouthcott · 10/01/2016 22:03

The best price, no hidden strings, no unnecessary extras

Bellroyd · 10/01/2016 22:43

Peace of mind through comprehensive inclusive policies and a return to customer loyalty rather than customer exploitation where existing customers appear to fund new business.

Sugarkane81 · 10/01/2016 22:59

Simple easy contact, I hate having to push this button for x and this one for x..... now push etc etc etc etc

PracacopyFilip · 10/01/2016 23:30

Good price, ideally without excess. With UK based call centre that don't charge excessive admin fees for small changes.

ustupidwoman · 11/01/2016 00:04

i want great reliable cover at a competitive price which won't affect my 'no claims' discount and appreciates the fact I've driven 18 years without a single claim!!!

ajh1907 · 11/01/2016 00:50

Loyalty if you renew with the same company - e.g competitive renewal prices, reward for staying with them such as a voucher (if you haven't made a claim on the policy)

KAKADU2001 · 11/01/2016 09:39

The proper lowest renewal price. They give you an overpriced renewal quote and then as soon as you threaten to leave then hey presto they offer you a quote that is a lot lower.

i would like a car insurance that is reasonably priced & stays that way the year after & isn't just a gimmick to make you swap.. i want a company that take care of the loyal customers not just the ones who swap because there cheap in the first year, with a uk customer service that don't pass you from pillar to post when you need to contact them.

lovegroved · 11/01/2016 09:49

I would like to have a fair price that isn't going to rocket for the 2nd year. Reasonable excess amounts and a good customer services dept.

SuzCG · 11/01/2016 09:51

The best price, first time, every time - I find the whole process of having to argue every year or swap to get treated better pretty frustrating.

UK based offices.

Speedy efficient service if you do unfortunately have to make a claim.

And no admin changes if you have to do something as simple as changing basic personal details!

Kangakate · 11/01/2016 19:14

A great price to start, but also an easy claim process, that doesn't involve lot of forms and diagrams and a quick decision about getting you back on the road
