My family get excited to be together around the xmas table, my 3 beautiful grandchildren, 15, 12 and 4 all help set the table, make name cards, put out the crackers, top the glasses up, take the starters out mains and desserts. We all have a lovely lovely day and end the evening playing party games or board games. Then as they're leaving they book themselves in for next year. Christmas at its best

The cats. It felt like home as soon as they were allowed out of their cat carriers!

Our big old dining room table makes our home we've had it for years and it stands pround in our kitchen/diner, It's been well used and amongst other things has seen my children glueing and sticking, playing games, doing homework, writting their letters to Santa, wrapping presents as well as hosting dinner parties with friends, childrens birthday parties, and family christmas dinners. It's seen us sitting ther both happy and sad and I think out table is the heart of our home

My friends and family, they are welcome any time day or night.

cendboy · 28/11/2015 17:30

the usual christmas decorations in the exact same place as last year!

Ferryfairy · 28/11/2015 18:09

The fridge, freezer, cupboards and wine rack groaning with food and drink in eager anticipation of the hoards descending, and twinkling white lights all round the front garden

ataraxia · 28/11/2015 18:14

It's putting the fire on (even though the central heating could do the job, really!), putting up the Christmas tree (and not getting round to taking it down until well into January!) and passing around the chocolates!

I absolutely LOVE vintage and the personal and unique touches really make my house my home. I love mixing it up with current trends and, of course, lots of family photos and drawings by my daughter.
