Its my special things and my comforts! So the chairs I've chosen because they're so comfortable to sit on, my blankets and throws for being cosy, my bookshelves full of lots of old favourites and new ones waiting to be discovered! Things I've collected that are part of my history! Then its also the surroundings, the bright colours I chose to paint with, the fairy lights everywhere!

The fire roaring away, scented candles and twinkling lights make our house a home at Christmas.

mo3733 · 28/11/2015 13:11

i have the living room warm and cosy with subdued lighting so everyone can relax when coming home from work and school

When you have teenage daughters who dont want to go out of an evening but stay in and watch a film with mom makes me feel like our House is a Home. Its warm, comfortable and has plenty of love and chocolate in it x

nigelh66 · 28/11/2015 13:19

It being calm, peaceful, quiet whilst everywhere else is going crazy makes it a home :)

alsproject · 28/11/2015 13:22

The one off and homemade decorations makes our house a home

Funkyferret · 28/11/2015 13:28

It's the familiar things we do each year - the ornaments on the tree that have been collected over the years dotted in among the plainer decorations in whatever colour has taken my fancy this year, the wreath we make for the door, lots of candlelight and welcoming people round which we really don't do often enough.

Debi32 · 28/11/2015 13:40

My cat waiting for me to get in through the front door.

beeelaine · 28/11/2015 13:49

love, laughter and decent cups of tea! that is what makes our place our home! When we moved in there were geometric 70's carpets, analgypta blown design wallpaper with layers of paint, green velvet curtains and some funky 70's paper but nowhere else did a cup of tea taste so good!

sweir1 · 28/11/2015 14:00

My rugs and candles

KittyKat88 · 28/11/2015 14:02

The sounds of laughter from my DDs as they run around the house and their giggles as I give them a big tickle! We also love our cosy nights in during the colder months, with a roaring log fire and our two cats curled up on our laps - snuggling up all together on the sofa watching a Disney favourite on the TV.

Dizzyc73 · 28/11/2015 14:16

Our family makes our house a home. With 5 kids it's very noisy, busy and messy but I wouldn't change anything.

Clairemike21 · 28/11/2015 14:30

My kids art work and dog hair !

merlymerly · 28/11/2015 14:30

What makes the house a home this Christmas is the family sitting at the table together for dinner, eating and talking and no phones!

rainbow1983 · 28/11/2015 14:45

Of course my hubby and children make my house home at christmas, without them it wouldn't be home at all :)

galaxygirl1 · 28/11/2015 14:46

It has to be the smells coming from the kitchen, having cooked everyones favorite meal like roast chicken with roast veg is always homely

rainbowvalley · 28/11/2015 15:26

The possessions in my home make it a home all of them have memories or remind me of something!

smaisey · 28/11/2015 15:27

Christmas candles and our two cats sleeping downstairs :)

BlueNile57 · 28/11/2015 15:28

Family and pets make my house a home plus when I decorate the Christmas Tree and bring out all the hand made decorations made over the years they evoke special memories. Pride of place on our tree is an antique ceramic angel that I inherited when my mum died. How I feel about Christmas is mainly down to her as she loved it and we did a lot together at Christmas e.g. decorating the tree, making the Christmas cake etc.

maisiesnan · 28/11/2015 15:42

My children, grandchildren, photographs and memories

yoeydavis · 28/11/2015 16:15

The family make it a home, but also all the hard work and money, and love I suppose, that's gone into decorating it, furnishing it and making it unique to us. I look around and I love it, all of it.

beckyinman · 28/11/2015 16:16

Making it warm and welcoming. And my cat - she is always happy to see me home

nettymay · 28/11/2015 16:22

The People in it (and the 2 cats!)

claireblaney123 · 28/11/2015 16:23

We make our house a home because if 1 or more go out it feel empty like there nothing in the, so our family make it a home.

tdighton · 28/11/2015 16:24
