Warmth, laughter and candles

Sellins · 29/11/2015 12:58

My cat makes my home messy, hairy, cold with the doors opening and shutting and fills it with love and fun and cuddles and that makes my home a home

laurac1987 · 29/11/2015 13:07

Definitely the Christmas tree which we all help to put up and decorate. Also, the little things like hanging our Christmas cards and lighting special Christmas candles.

helenmary25 · 29/11/2015 13:11

My family is what makes my house a home

hbakfam · 29/11/2015 13:59

Elton the cat! He spends more time in the house now the weather's cold!

MAT12 · 29/11/2015 14:26

The house is always nice and tidy with a lovely cinnamon and orange smell that makes it feel warm and then there are the lovely decoration many made by the kids over the years and of course not forgetting the loudness of the girls in the house, the laughter and often the wii u competition on mario cart and bowling. Thats what makes our house a home

thekiwibex · 29/11/2015 15:34

My husband, our cat, and a cup of tea!

the right person to come home to

MerryMarigold · 29/11/2015 16:46

Lots of bits of unmatching furniture each with a tale to tell. My great great grandfather's antique camphor wood chest, the oak table a bargain from eBay and had a row with Dh when we got lost on way home, the antique pine Victirian table from auction a couple of weeks after ds1 born, reclaimed pine dresser from my aunt who was getting rid of it when she moved into a smaller place, lovely inlaid sideboard from Heart foundation for 30quid wtc. Etc. I love each piece and those I don't love I get rid of after a bit.

pixiewolfe · 29/11/2015 19:21

My drawings and photos make this house more home. And my books. If I don't have books I feel so uncomfortable!

unadulterateddad · 29/11/2015 19:46

The Dogs and my DS cuddled up asleep on the sofa under a giant fleece blanket. the sound of gentle snoring could be nowhere else but home

chrin · 29/11/2015 20:00

love and laughter makes my house a home

toodles60 · 29/11/2015 20:04

The smell of baking, the log fire, children laughing and playing and even children arguing.

kerryv · 29/11/2015 20:11

The clutter and mess!

shoebedo434 · 29/11/2015 20:20

I love to come home at Christmas and put the Christmas tree lights on, draw the curtains and dim the lights. with my family with me, a happy movie on the telly and a warm house, I couldn't be happier

Katiekatiekatiekay · 29/11/2015 20:29

My photo wall love it Smile

HelenSw4les · 29/11/2015 20:29

Lots of family photos make my house a home. We are intending to sell our current home and move next year though so I'll have to remove a lot of these to give my home a "blank canvas" and the best opportunity to sell .... or so I'm told!

daisyduck123 · 29/11/2015 20:36

My lovely family and pets make my house a home

lisylou21 · 29/11/2015 21:24

My children

RiSo · 29/11/2015 21:28

The noise, the toys, the mess, the handprints going up the stairs, the shoes not on the rack, the coats not on the hooks, the toothbrushes left in the sink, the cushions never straight, and always, always, cartoons on the tv. With 3 boys under 6 I could live anywhere in the world, but my home would always look like this, and I wouldn't change a thing.

kathcake · 29/11/2015 21:29

A happy family and lots of laughter

littleme96 · 29/11/2015 21:43

Our woodburner seems to get guests fighting over it! Baking smells and festive scents filling the air also give it that homely feel. As do our pets, as they make a house feel like a home.

PinkSlipperQueen · 29/11/2015 21:44

The only "thing" that makes my house a home is my family

Princessxo · 29/11/2015 22:30

For me, it's the homemade stuff that makes it special. Anyone can go out and buy stuff or have a ready decorated tree, but it's the taking time and doing things with the family that makes it really good.
