We’re pleased to announce that here at MNHQ, we’ve worked with Cadbury to create a shiny new chocolate bar emoticon Chocolate Smile

There are many occasions when a MNer may deserve a chocolate bar, and a moment of joy after your DCs have done something you’re particularly proud of may be one of these key moments. The more joyful the moment, the higher it might rate on the Joy-o-meter.

Cadbury say “What we’ve created in partnership with Mumsnet is a fun addition to the MN emoticon family which allows people to share their love of chocolate and how they feel about it. It’s something we feel passionately about in Cadbury and anything which brings people together in the joy of chocolate is a great moment to be embraced. Of course, we prefer the real thing, but who knows where the future will take these little emoticons so let’s wait and see Wink

So, what have your DCs done in the past couple of weeks that brought you some joy? Maybe your DC made you a cup of tea for the first time? Perhaps you’ve finally succeeded in potty-training? Or maybe your DC has done their homework without you reminding them? How would you rate this moment on the Joy-o-meter: 1 to 5 chocolate bars?

Whatever your moment of joy was, we’d love to hear about it!

Share your stories here, and offer a bit of chocolate to your fellow MNers if you like – everyone who adds a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will receive a £200 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck Chocolate

When Kraft took over Cadburys and pinky promised they wouldn't close the Bristol factory

Then changed their minds a couple of days later when the ink was barely dry on the acquisition docs

Oh that was a moment, that

When I introduced my DNieces to Lidl chocolate, because it is good value, fair trade, and tastes like real chocolate, not like brown-coloured lard, as manufactured by Cadburys Kraft

When I discovered that while Cadbury's new creme eggs were a right let-down, Aldi ones were lovely.

If Kraft read this thread and acted upon it, a lot of MNers would feel the joy.

My DS taking my horse into a show and winning a rosette! he is only two and a half but refused to ride any little ponies despite being offered them. He looked like a pea on a drum but to see my two favourites together brought a tear to my eye.

My 13 yo DD took herself off for a bath this evening without being reminded! It sounds like a small thing but it normally takes days of encouragement and talk of hygiene so its a huge victory in my household!
I can't tell you how thrilled I am that you now have a cadbury's emoticon to celebrate the good times with!! ChocolateChocolateChocolate

My 4 year old is being really helpful around the house at the moment - it must be because 'Father Christmas' is watching - anyway, I am making the most of it as he is being so sweet and loving with it :)

One of my sons has executive functioning disorder and everyday is a challenge for him due to his working memory part of his brain not functioning so well. When he does a small task unreminded for example having a shower without being prompted or to get his breakfast on his own is a massive thing for us. This gives me huge joy because i feel that we may be getting somewhere.. small steps!

Have been having listening issues with Dd (3.4) recently.
Today we went to a soft play centre and it was HUGE. I told her where I would be with ds (14months) but explained that if she couldn't remember or couldn't find us that she was to find a man/woman wearing a green t shirt with the company logo on and say 'I need to find my mummy. Her name is Rats'.

She went off and played and I couldn't relax, kept looking for her and seeing her playing and fine. Then suddenly a staff member turned up with dd is tow saying 'are you rats? This little girl asked me to find you'
Then she complimented dd on her 'exquisite manners' as well!

Super proud moment and such a relief to know she really is listening and taking on board what I say to herChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolate

My little boy fell asleep on his own tonight!!! This is the first time in about 4 months that he has fallen asleep without me or his dad being in the room with him! A massive achievement for him & great for us too - we get a bit of down-time in the evenings now - woohoo!! Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate

My 5 year old wrote a note and left it in her cupboard. I saw it a few days ago, it says "You can be anything you want to be". It had a few spelling errors but it put such a smile on my face to see her with such a positive outlook at such a young age :)
